Why are you spearfishing a very important predator to that eco system? You don't eat Barracuda and you're definitely not fishing for food. I love fishing and totally understand hunting and eating what you kill but all this machismo sport hunting and fishing for predators that otherwise are no threat to you and aren't the least bit interested in you UNLESS you come into THEIR territory posing a threat to them is senseless. The big ones shouldn’t be eaten cuz of the risk of ciguatera poisoning. But you are right they are not really a threat to you unless you shoot them like the baboons in the video. Literally today I speared a grouper and out of no where a 6 ft barracuda came into the picture and sat near the dead grouper staring at it. I was worried it might attack if I pulled the grouper towards me but that didn’t happen, the cuda just sat there staring at the fish until I pulled it away and onto the boat. I’m sure if the fish was smaller the cuda would’ve taken the fish but the point is they aren’t there for you.

I got a buddy of mine got attack by a much smaller size app 4Kg and gave him a fractured face bone just below hi s left eye lobe and a broken mask …1 week hospitalised and surgery to remove the blood clot in his eyeball. Thank Neptune he got back his eye sight…so lesson learned dun play horizontally with a barracuda either play like a kite or mopping the floor styles.

I got into some legal hot water and towards the tail end of that situation I had a heart attack and then 3 months later I was scheduled to go back in the operating room and have triple bypass surgery on my heart. It really took me out of the game. It takes 5 years for your lungs to completely heal and I have maybe a year or less before my lungs are completely healed. I have been asthmatic my whole life and after surgery that has only gotten worse which is added to the problem, not to mention my hip is really causing me some serious issues due to big wave surfing back in the day when I was just 17. Now that I'm 52 and older all these injuries from surfing and different jobs that have had and finally caught up to me. I tried to get back into diving but I couldn't even do a 10-ft dive without coming up gasping for air. As you know, life happens and sometimes it really hits close home on a personal level especially with a hobby like spearfishing which was a huge passion of mine for 36 years. Trust me when I tell you, I was no professional but I gained lots of experience over the years for all the diving I did. It's sad that I can't go back to doing it again but I did have a pretty damn good run all those years and best of all, I'm still standing. Now I'm trying to get back into uploading other content. I enjoy helping homeless people as you may or may not have noticed in one of my videos.
