  • Spearing a big black grouper hiding in a hollowed out mast. This fish took 2 dives to 205ft to retrieve but it was well worth it!

    curious how come near the end there you said have to get out of here and inbracket you put (the sand) been trying but no luck figuring what you ment sure big beautiful fish is it a small goliath or different species

      I was starting to get narcosis badly since I was near the sand so I had to ascend so I didn't start passing out, it's a black grouper, high price market fish

    I'm all for hunting and gathering....but hate to see creature as magnificent as this suffering....for 3 hours plus. Also it being such a tight squeeze of a shot no guarantee of retrieval. Clean kills I think are better.

      Not all of us have the same moral compass mate.
      Besides from reading other comments it looks like this done to sell...in other words it's his job.
      While I agree it seems like an unfair advantage it's better than scooping up have the ocean to get your target fish!
      It also sounds like he free dives for fun in his free time not using tanks which is more in line with the sporting side of spearfishing.

Hey, I have a mint condition 65-in black tip custom that I just got in a gear trade but I'm looking for a smaller gun if you're interested in trading for a setup that's ready for the water in the 52 in range. You're one of the few commercial guys that I have constantly seen that dispatch your fish either before or after you put them on the stringer.       @Adam Demirs diving a partial pressure of 1.2. - 1.4 is not uncommon. 200ft / 33ft seawater = 6.06 atmospheres. His gas was likely air which is 21% O2 or .21. That would put him at 1.27 partial pressure which is in a safe range. At 220ft he would have been pushing his limits on air. Now bouncing 200 back to back was probably more risky, but when money is on the line you make choices based on dollars.

    Great video I have a pair of fiber glass blades you can have, practically new and they will hold up better than your poor carbons

      Hey Roan those actually are fiberglass, thats just what happens after commercial wreck diving consistently. I save my carbons for freediving
