- Join Lenny Rudow and the crew from @anglersannapolis9847 to learn some tips on how to fish for striped bass at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Annapolis, Maryland. Thanks for your video 👍
I would love to see a video on exactly how to use electronics to locate stripers and different kinds of structure that hold them. Especially in open water. I appreciate the time and effort to educate.
Gotcha Leroy - we will take that under advisement and get to work!! It's tough to get good shots of the FF screens (and even tougher to make the fish appear on there when you have the camera and light ready) but give us some time, and you'll eventually see it!
@@FishTalkMagazine Leroy isn't the only one looking for or forward to that video!
If you want to know how to do it Rudow and Kimbro are the best.
Awesome video guys, i'm new to the area and this will be my first summer fishing the chesapeake and im pumped! hope to see you guys out there
Sweet - you're going to LOVE it, Brian!!
hey man its my first time to wish the best for us
Awesome help guys -- appreciate your simple instructions very much. Is it possible to catch rockfish without a fish finder??
Glad you enoyed it and heck yes it is. The tech helps for sure, but we caught 'em for many years before LCD screens were a thing!!
@@FishTalkMagazine we're headed out to CBBT at sunset today to try again - electronics free:)
Great vid! Just moved out here and was wondering what to use. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!!
I caught a eel in Chesapeake bay today it was small though nice video btw ima have to try that
Glad you enjoyed it & good luck!!
Hi Lenny. I'm wondering if you could do something on areas that a yak fisher can go on the Tangier Sound for Specs and Stripers. i.e. not too far from a launching spot. Thanks
Hey Frank - thanks, I'll put that on the list for sure!!
Real monsters
Does it matter which side of the bridge like if I’m more near Virginia beach can I still do what your doing at those rock piles
Hey - this is the Bay Bridge by annapolis not the CBBT in VA, but the basic principals remain the same and yes, you sure can!!!!
Lenny I'm further south in maryland, the pax river, solomons island, lower Potomac river and point lookout area. Do you think bigger rockfish and blues are in my area? I haven't been able to fish in about a month. Also what fish do you think are still running in my area? thank you in advance and great video
Hey D - latest reports put mostly smalls in the Pax but keepers in the Potomac (St. George's Island vicinity and on the Virginia side). Blues have really thinned out, you may still get one but the numbers are pretty low at this point. Check out the weekly reports at FishTalkMag.com, I'll have the latest intel in there by noon on Friday!
@@FishTalkMagazine ok thank you
What power rods were they using? Medium heavy or medium?
It was a mix of mostly medium and medium-light for eeling/spoons, and a couple of lights for jigging the smaller stuff. Most of that gear was in the 15 to 30 lb. range, I don't think any was heavier than that.
@@FishTalkMagazine awesome!! Thanks for the quick response!
What pound test are you using for your Fluorocarbon leader when jigging? What size hooks do you recommend when live lining an eel?
20 pound flouro leader; 8/0 circle. Good luck!
Are you anchored while doing this?
Hey Mark - sometimes yes, sometimes no. If your boat has a bow-mount electric with Spot Lock, that works very well at times, too. It all depends on the current and wind speeds/directions, and you have to play it by ear until you figure out how to best position the boat, as dictated by the conditions at any given time.
are they biting this time of year at the bridge? haven't heard much about them yet.
I guess you'd have to say it was an off-year this fall, from November on we didn't hear much from the bridge. Every year is different, but many (last year included) guys were catching them there in the middle of January!
Is this the northern bridge or is it the Chesapeake bay bridge tunnel?
This is the northern bridge, commonly called the Chesapeake Bay Bridge(s) as opposed to Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel (CBBT) at the mouth of the Bay.
Is your boat still for sale?
Sort of - due to delivery delays on the new boat I can't give it up until July, but after that it will be, yes!
Damn it’s rough out there but I bet you had the whole bridge to yourself
LOL it was, and yes we pretty much did!
