The " P " actually represents Prince and is only on the Series 1's , the same with the GTIR badged steering wheel and umbrella holder in the B pillar . Prince was the manufacturer of the first GTR , then Nissan bought them out and the rest is history .
Do you mean the P in the front? That stands for Pulsar in that thing. Many Pulsars had that not just the GTI-R. As well as other Nissan models had a special badge - which was pretty neat back then! Didn´t watch the video yet so I could be wrong and you mean another P.
I've had mine for over 10 years now, such a fantastic car to drive. I still get that giggle and laugh. I call it it my wife, because it takes all my money and constantly breaks my heart, lol. But when it's all good, nothing beats it. Mine has a bit of work and is quicker than most modern hot hatches.
Love this era of JDM cars, grew up on them in NZ as we had no import laws and were spoilt. Love cars without all the bullshit lane departure warnings, touch screen entertainment centre, electronic throttles and steering all that crap that makes modern cars heavy cumbersome and soft. These were driver's cars.
Was eying one of these for years an after letting my r32 mark4 away a couple years ago.. I always wanted a Nissan pulsar when I was younger an now watching you drive a tuned one have got me buzzing for one again. Top video.
@BROCKgoFAST Yes it is the hottest of all hatches...wait maybe second to the Lancia Delta Integrale, lol. Loved it so much, I can't stay away from a GTiR because I'm on my third one! Always gives me that smiles for miles every time I hop on. Just wish that Nissan would follow suit with their heritage program for the Pulsar, so you wouldn't have to acquire parts from halfway around the globe ha ha ha. Oh and just subscribed, looking forward to more of your GTiR videos.
@5:00 It also is faster than a M5 on the drag strip. There´s something about these old ones like this GTI-R and the Lancia Delta Integrale. Back in the day it was something special. Few hatches had such horsepower numbers. These days literally everybody does such a "hot hatch" and compact cars with high horsepower. It is nice sure but it´s different. It´s nothing special anymore. I´m glad that this came out in the 90s.
@@BROCKgoFAST Yes mate, I've owned my car for 20+ years and never got used to it🤣 I think my car has most of the factory options, heated seats, the stupid speaker on the parcel shelf (the speaker was missing when I bought it, so I've only got the parcel shelf), sunroof, heated and folding mirrors, and unfortunately all of the rust which doesn't seem to be an option👎 It's a bit of a barn find at the moment unfortunately. I'll be watching out for you on Cletus' channel 👍👍😁
@@casperme6552 that’s awesome that you have been lucky enough to own one so long. I do have the folding mirrors! Thanks I appreciate it. Hopefully the car does well and doesn’t push too much haha
i need your help man i am looking into a 1990 pulsar X1R it has 60k miles on it and i have no clue what price to offer for the car? love the vid btw wanna see this car more!
@@jenssandvig9236 yeah motor stuff is a little easier, transmissions are getting tough to find and the body parts and interior is getting incredibly hard to find. Dashes are next to impossible and most have cracked dashes
We in New Zealand are responsible for a lot of them getting wrote off we got all the jdm classics at bargain prices with our no import restrictions in the late 90s early 2000s

That’s awesome!!! It’s such a special little car that no one knows about
@Stuart My sentiments exactly!
These were my first JDM goal car then I fell for the BC5 RS Legacy, then every other JDM weapon. Such a great era.

Thanks!! There is just something special about these cars and knowing how rare they are becoming it’s amazing!
Owned mine from 2003 love it best hot hatch ever especially with 600hp
Awesome! How did the transmission last at that power level?

liked commented and viewed. didnt even know what this was until you got one.
Most people don’t haha then they see how cool it is

That’s exactly right!! People don’t understand what monsters these cars were in the 90’s and nobody knew about them
Modern hot hatches don't compare to the driving experience of this era, pure drivers cars far more engaging than golf rs etc.
It is available as LHD as well, but those are rare as hens teeth. Only under 700 were made LHD..
I’ve only seen a handful and all the LHD cars seem to stay hidden or collected
there is a car that you may like its called the nissan sunny gts comes in 2wd and fwd with attessa
I know that car very well. Really cool. My first car was a 92 Sentra SE-R
They did make some of these pulsar gti'rs with heated seats and heated mirrors but not many
Never heard of the heated seats
Yes they did make some models with heated seats and mirrors.
The P is a reference to Prince, not Pulsar.
Just so you know, the wiper/indicators are on the wrong side for the UK as well, it's some Japanese thing😁
And my Pulsar does have heated seats👍👍😁
Haha took me forever to get the hang of. Yours has heated seats!!??

No no, the indicator is in the correct place, indicator on the left is junk😂
One Fact isn´t right, they were made 15xxx Cars in Total not in 1990.
I´ve got a git-r too, mine is a 1990 Umbrella Model with Chassis Number 2918 :)
You were absolutely right. It was 5000 made in the first year. Thanks for that. Love the umbrella!!
Another fact that was wrong.....the P on the front is for Prince not Pulsar

Thank you so much I appreciate it. To be honest I don’t know the market on the X1R’s.
X1r only has the Ga16de
My mate had one last year of high school in 1998 was a cool car then.
What parts are hardest to get? I'm seriously looking into getting one.
Everything! They were rare back then and over the years they have been cut up, crashed, trashed and forgotten so parts are extremely limited.
@@BROCKgoFAST motor and transmission I've been able to find parts. It's mostly body parts that would worry me.
