Have you participated in Dress A Girl Around the WORLD?
Do you have any tips on how to upsize this, for child as they grow? Thank you so much for this amazing pattern for such a great cause!! I will try to see if I can't make some before the deadline, and if not, I'll make them for next year's event! 💖
Thanks for the class and the patterns🤗. I participated last year and made the pattern that you provide☺; it was a cute print colorful little dress🥰. This year I will participate also using both patterns🤗.
Yes, I used your pattern last year!
No I will like to see how this work. I saw it for the first time today
It bothers me that they only want dresses. What about the girls that don’t like dresses? It seems cute shorts outfits would be just as needed.
Beautiful dresses! I’ve been sewing dresses for DAG since 2019. It’s so rewarding and I love being creative with all the pretty quilting cottons! It was when they couldn’t accept dresses during Covid that I started sewing for garments for myself and found your channel. Now I’m happily sewing for myself as well as the girls. I’ve sent off 50 dresses since I began. 💕
Yaas…I like to move it move it, I like to move it move it , I like to move it move it, we like to..Move It!!! I’ve watched Madagascar at least a hundred times with my daughter. Those dresses are so professional looking. They will be so blessed by your talents. You have a heart of pure gold. 💛💛💛🌟
Yes! We love it too :) it is a good one :) I hope they will love the dresses, I know Artemis loves hers - so it is a good indicator that other girls will like it too!
I love your channel, it's so refreshing not focusing on all tattoos. Please, stay you you are.
I have sewn for Dress A Girl since March 2021. It was such a delight to learn their story and feel how meaningful it can be to provide a girl in another country with her very own dress -sewn just for her. It’s fun, rewarding and a treat to share with other sewists! I’m sending off a box tomorrow with 5 dresses from your pattern from last year, which is very fun to sew. I love that ruffle. I have another 5 for older girls too. Thank you for raising awareness of this splendid organization!
I haven't sewn your patterns yet but I really like the way you plan the pattern so one doesn't print a gazillion pages. Very thoughtful planning.
What you do for others is amazing 👏 ❤. I am relatively new to the channel but I signed up at the beginning of the pandemic. Now I will be watching all the time. God's continued Blessings to always 🙏 ❤
What a wonderful project!! These dresses will be such a hit for some very lucky girls.
I'm exhausted!! What a great job you did. They look wonderful.
Thank you so much Kathy!
I can not believe how beautiful! I can’t wait to make this. The bias on the pocket is brilliant!
Thank you so much!!!
Girl, you deserve a massage after all that!!! What a great demo of "mass production"! What a wonderful project!
Thank you! 😊it was a task, but I am glad I got it done and hopefully it will bring good and joy!
I started on a dress from your pattern from last year last night. I am going to make at least one from the new pattern. Absolutely love the pockets on the new one. Thank you so much for sharing.
Such a lovely gesture Alissa! thank you for being so thoughtful!
Thank you, Ana! Last the sewing community really came together and made close to 800 dresses, so hopefully this will help!
This is fantastic. I especially love the pockets - seeing the inward curve bound in a contrasting fabric. Well done for getting so many made.
Thank you so much!
Beautiful. Thank you for doing this! God bless you!
You are so welcome and Thank YOU for watching!
Well done, they all look fabulous.
Hi, What lovely dresses you have sewn and your tutorial is really good and you have made it easy to understand what you are doing. The fabric is gorgeous too. How I wish I could just nip to Hobby Lobby. Thank You xx
I am in the process of sorting my sewing room and then I plan on making some dresses for this cause. X
That is awesome! :) every little bit helps :)
I absolutely love the Dress A Girl Around the World idea. I plan to do this as well. Thank you so much for introducing us to this amazing cause.
Cathleen - absolutely, my pleasure! All my thanks go to Mari for introducing me to it! I am just happy to help!
Beautiful even the thread was beautiful
Your explanations are so easy and helpful dear thanks
Beautiful, just beautiful!
They look so cute!! I’m pulling my hair out!! I have two fabrics that I want to make something for the new baby coming in December. I’m not up to making a dress but I might be able to make bloomers.
Have fun sewing for the little one, it is exciting and challenging at the same time - pattern pieces are so small, but the joy of baby wearing handmade garments is worth it!
You might really like Alisa’s patter from last year! It has less bias binding.
make cute bibs!
@@dianer5300 great idea! Teething toddler and one on the way bibs are a necessity.
These are beautiful and I’m sorry this was short notice for me this time, but I’m gathering a couple of friends and we are going to be working 1once a month to make dress a girl for next years event!!!!! I’m excited
No worries, every little bit counts, and as you said - you can prep the whole year with your friends!
Your skill is amazing. You are so happy
Thank you so much! I try to keep it light and positive!
1:46 I need this tool! That would make life so much easier lol Beautiful dresses! Great Video 😊
Where do you get all that energy? Love those summer dresses, they are so lively.
Lise, that is a good question! I have no idea, lol :) must be all that black tea :)
Beautiful!
I love it !
Thank you for your sharing the pattern,I have been looking for pattern like this for a while because I planning to go to Thailand this winter and I will make this dresses.
This is just one size for little girls, you can make an adult size by following various tutorials on my channel :)
@@ThoughtfulCreativity yes, I hope I can make it 🤞🤞
This pattern would be a cute one for mother and daughter dresses.
Sorry I forgot to say I love your lemon Pj's. They are beautiful xx
Tha k you so much, Tanya! The fabric for those is also from Hobby Lobby and drafting tutorials for the t-shirt and jogger pants are on the channel :)
You are so wonderful. I bet you needed to sleep for 12 hours afterward. I always love your videos.
Love your lemon Outfit!
Oh, thank you! It is from one of my tutorials :)
@@ThoughtfulCreativity I’m going to search for it!😍
@@charlenesoares1367 it is the jogger tutorial and how to copy a t- shirt, different fabrics, but the same pattern :)
@@ThoughtfulCreativity oh thank you so much, I couldn’t find it because I was looking for a lemon jumpsuit. Lol
Aww I missed it, I was getting ready to take my mommy to physical therapy. I’m watching the replay Alisa❤️
No worries at all, your MOM is the most important! How's her health?
@@ThoughtfulCreativity she’s more forgetful & feels sleepy more than before, also she’s not eating things she’s liked before, so sad
Well done
Alissa, thank you for all you do. I know from experience that editing videos is hard work. Do you have a video on how to enlarge these 2 patterns? Last year I made a dress in a size 14. I understand older girls are offered fewer dresses. Thanks.
Your dresses are beautiful! What model is your Singer machine? It makes such a beautiful stitch! I found Dress A Girl too late for this year, but I’ve already started for next year!
I wish I could post a pic of the dress I made with the pattern provided ♥️ thank you
Absolutely gorgeous, all of them ! The fabric for the little ones is really beautiful and I really love the long ones for the teenagers. Well done on getting them all sewn in time, Alissa ! 👏 Do you maybe have a pattern for an adult size please ?
Dannie, hello there! THANK YOU so much! Those pockets are so easy to sew - a breeze! I do not have the pattern for the adult ones, but I do have a video for how I made it! If you go to video tab on my chann you can find it - it is a recent one :)
@@ThoughtfulCreativity ooh lovely, how wonderful. I will do that. Thank you so much!!! Have a good weekend... I have started to watch your video on plant dyes 😁🙏
Thank you for the beautiful pattern and tutorial! I just the first dress! I do have a question about the width of the bias tape. It seems on your video they are slightly wider than 1 inch? And it is a bit too narrow when double folded especially for when they become the neckties. Thanks again!
Always enjoy watching your videos, I downloaded the pattern to try 😀 hopefully I get through with it, I will be sewing 20 dresses to donate 😊
Love love your patterns. Did some for an extra income. People love the. But I need a pattern for a 1year old. Can you help me
is there a good alternative to the tie over the shoulder which is so hard for the wearer to do.?
Hi, do you have a video of how to draft a child’s bodice with measurements? Love your tutorials, just awesome n very inspiring. God bless ❤
Marina, hello there and thank you for joining! I do not have a video on this topic :( but I would suggest if you have a well fitting top for your child- you can just copy that and on the topic of copying your existing clothes I have a video for it, you can find it on the video tab on my channel.
❤❤ Wish I had a printer
Hi Alisa. I cannot locate the pattern for the larger dress, like the sizes you showed at the end of this video. Can you tell me where I can find them? Thanks!!! 🥰
I still think you should try to use a hemmer foot for those rolled hems. Once you master them, they’re a big time saver.
I did not do a rolled hem here :)
Oh Alisa, this time missed the live chat. Watching the replay. Great as always. What happened to your fingers?
Oh, no worries, but I was wondering, I thought I missed your name :) ah....a potato incident, I was cutting a potato and I was to passionate about it, and it turned out my hubby sharpened the knife the day before .. so, yeah... But it has all healed now!
Oh potatoes 😋, happy that you are fine. Stay blessed as always!
Nice material. Good idea to give back. Where is the material from?
Everything is mentioned in the video, please watch again :)
Wondering if you use a certain foot when apply the bias tape. Anything to speed up the assembling your dresses.
Not a special foot, but I do like to use 1/4" just in general, instead of the standard presser foot and I find that 1/4" helps with neat finish of the bias tape :)
Alisa thanks for all your guidance. I love this pattern. My CT ambassador said that size 2 do not require pockets, only size 4 and up. What size is this pattern. I apologize if you said it already, Thanks.
This is for 3-4 year old girls :) I have come to learn that a lot of different ambassadors for DAG also accept different types of dresses, so the requirements of some can be different for sure :)
I can’t click past more to get the dress pattern??
What size is this dress pattern?
Do you print the pattern at 100% or to fit the page ?
Do you have a video on how to sew on bias tape for beginners because I'm still having some trouble
Yes, go take a look at the video "4 ways how to finish necklines and armholes" it is a detailed 40 minute video, step by step
@@ThoughtfulCreativity thank you very much
Great ideas ❤. Do you have patters for boys as well or is just for girls. Thank you so much
Evelyn, this is sewing for charity and this charity dresses girls, so free patterns are only for girls :)
@@ThoughtfulCreativity yes, thank you for answering my question. I appreciated it
@@evelynferrer1322 no worries! I do know there are some charities that do sewing for boys, but I have not been involved with them. I think they sew shorts for boys, I do have a very simple drafting tutorial on how to draft shorts for kids, so that will be fitting, but I don't have an actual ready made pattern.
@@ThoughtfulCreativity Thanks that will be great.
Is there a project for boys?
That fabric is beautiful 🤩… I have a girls day that we sew up these girl dresses together! Say what is that glue/tape wheel you use to put the pattern together? 😅
Judy, hello there! That was just a tape roll from scrapbooking section of Joann's or Hobby Lobby, or you can find it on Amazon too. A very handy thing when it comes to putting patterns together :)
@@ThoughtfulCreativity 🥰thanks
Alisa can you help??? I was very very enthusiastic to sew a bunch of dresses for the project but to my great disappointment when I contacted the representative here in Australia via Facebook I was turned away. They informed me that they are not accepting any donations this year because of some rediculous covid reason. I was told to go find a charity on my own to donate to. I was sooooo disappointed. I really wanted to participate and sew for this amazing cause.
Do you know any alternative ways that people in my country can donate???
Thanks for this. I don't see the pinned pattern. Please let me know how I can get it Thanks.
It is in the infobox underneath the video
I love the little girls dress. But how do I get the big girls dresses
Lisa, go ahead and open the infobox, the. Idoe for the big dresses is there.
Good evening ma I love your teaching but how do I get the peper
Link is in the infobox, just like I mentioned in the video :)
Sorry to ask but I have never made bias tape..what was the yellow tool u used at 9 minutes thanks will be making these for orphans in Malawi. kids world
No worries, it is a bias tape maker, I have a link for it in the infobox, also, you don't need the tool to make it, but it definitely makes it easier. Also, bias tape has to be cut on 45 degree angle.
Are you going to make a pattern for dress a girl around the world. I do not have a serger and I try to make the dresses with french seams.
Joan, please open the description of this video - all info and patterns are there
What kind of printer do you have, and how do you like it?
I have Epson Eco Tank - the budget version and I like it!
How can I get the free pattern? Thanks
Watch the video from the very beginning - everything is explained.
Will you be designing a dress for this year?
There are so many tutorials for little girls. What about teenage girls. Need a pattern for them.
Madelaine, you can go to DAG website and see patterns they recommend and choose the ones that have the size range and purchase it and that's it, easy as that :) you don't have to use the free pattern I made or anyone else did. I make mine in certain size because my daughter is of the same age.
