I’ve personally always found the cake-like ones to be inferior and from the sound of it David had only eaten those kind before. I FINALLY made these yesterday and they were bomb! Variations: Made with Trader Joe's 72% Cacao Dark Chocolate and Cane Sugar, medium eggs, and pink Himalayan salt. Also, baked for 32min. Resulted in fudgy, salty, chocolatey goodness. May lessen cooking time for next bake. Definitely a keeper recipe!
Maybe the reason the consistency of the batter was a little different compared to Tasty’s could be because you used a liquid measuring cup to measure out the sugar?

I know this is ten months old and someone already probably said this, but brownies look raw when they come out of the oven and set when they cool. So you didn't have to stick them back in your oven. I feel that's something your mom could've told you.

When baking, ovens differ in how well they cook the food. Most recipes give a general amount of time so that you can estimate how long it will take to make
These are the best brownies ever lol. However he's right about the timing. Everytime I make these I have to leave the in a little longer or let them rest forever because if you try to cut them immediately they WILL be raw.
Your butter and sugar was a lot more liquify because you didn’t let your butter cool enough before you mixed in the sugar. It doesn’t really matter, though. It all came together in the end.
(I made these notes for myself but in case anyone else want them too, here ya go 😂) Oven at 350 ¾ cup melted butter 1 & ¼ sugar (Mix together) Add 2 eggs + vanilla extract and mix Chop up 4 ounces of dark chocolate for the very end And another 4 ounces to melt down and put into mixture Sift ¾ cup of flour, ¼ cup of cocoa powder and salt into the mixture, and fold carefully Finally, top the batter off with the remaining chopped up chocolate, put it in a prepped baking pan and into the oven for 25-35 minutes, depending on your oven and your preference.
For the chocolate on top, press a few in before you stick it in the oven. Also, coating your chocolate chips/chunks in your dry ingredients (or just the flour) helps to keep them from sinking to the bottom of the pan.
I've made this recipe and love it as well! The recipe is da BOMB! However..it is too sweet for my taste, it might be because of the chocolate bar I used. You make me want to make it again, with 70% chocolate bar and see how it turns out.
I recommend watching the scran line if you want a really good demo on folding. :) Nick is amazing, like, I am a total fail, and following his macaron vids, I successfully made them!! HIghly recommend!!
