    Cops who have been FIRED should not be allowed to work at another Department, period.

    • @dericksmith2137
      @dericksmith2137 2 роки тому +16

      Fired from a department should end their law enforcement certification. With the only way to restore it would be to reapply to the academy and redo training.
      But if there was such a grievous violation, then the certification board could just bar them for life.
      *but another option instead of trying to strip certification, is to simply charge them! A felony conviction ends that certification!
      The internal investigations need to be stopped. Too often a cop, that deserves felony charges, is simply allowed to resign to avoid criminal prosecution.

      Qualified Immunity is not a law, it's a so-called "doctrine". It actually an illegitimate practice. It was instituted in 1960s (during civil rights movement) by an all white US Supreme Court to shield police from prosecution and lawsuits when they took action against civil rights (Constitutional Rights) workers, of all things. Government employees are required by law take an oath to defend and uphold the US Constitution. Only way to combat it is to inform the public and educate judges and lawyers. Why judges and lawyers need educating? You would think they would know the law... but they are stuck in a mental quagmire of procedures. Qualified Immunity is not a law. You break the law, you face must face judgement.
      How to find bad cops fast. Look at the number of charges that had to be dropped. False charges are indication of lack of law knowledge, lying and frivolous use of police powers. Another reason, to discourage making of false charges. That's 2 misconduct charges per false charge, and proof the cops doesn't know the law. Law enforcement that doesn't know the law, just some cosplayers, sometimes criminals to dress up like police officers.

      Are they really though? They get a slap on the wrist. Most often a paid vacation while an internal investigation determines there was no wrong doing. Sometimes it goes to the DA where the charges will likely be dismissed. The worst that most cops will face is being fired, and even then they can just go get hired at another department. I don't call that being held accountable. A handful of convictions does not mean accountability for a thousand killed by police every year (some of them are legit justified) or the tens of thousands of non-lethal cases of brutality by those who are hired to protect the public.

    Glad I don't live in Denver or the surrounding communities.... Pending cases? What about the preceding cases that can now be called into question? One bad officer, let alone 4 can derail an entire justice system. How many of their cases are just, and how many are BS. We may never know, because so may will be dismissed or appealed, for nothing more than the veracity of the officer's testimony. This is why you need to weed them out ASAP.

    It is very simple to resolve this issue you don't have to remove the cases all you have to do is do a proper investigation if you found malfeasance on the officer's part then whatever that individual was charged with whatever time that he was given in jail that the officer served that time all 173 cases calculated together that that officers the time

Instead we are left in the dark with nothing shown but two seemingly innocent photos and people shouting it is (or was) soo bad, and no idea what they are talking about. I think this is the most idiotic case of non-information I ever saw from a news channel.

    It wont stop until its stopped! Police officers need to be held more accountable. There are some very good officers out there. But still they need to have their cameras on as long as they have their uniforms on. I honestly believe that it has to do with the officers who have shot someone putting pressure on and bragging to the ones who haven't. So to feel equal their first instinct is to pull their weapons and fire away. Its obvious that when they go out on shots fired call and have a suspect in their sites they all are firing on that person. They need to be retrained and have it that one or at the most 2 officers firing their weapon. I know that it sounds easier said than done? But really how many does it take to put sone down?
