The most beautiful song of love. My wife passed away right before our 40th anniversary. This was our song. The lyrics are the best. I miss her every day for the passed 2 years. Love me till my heart stops like I love you my love.. The greatest feeling is being loved and loving the best wife and best friend I was blessed with. I know the pain but I'm one of the lucky ones to have someone love me very much till she died. God Bless you my Love
So sorry for the loss of your dear wife Bob. UA-cam songs are filled with people's losses and memories, but yours is the first that caused me to burst into tears. You have 40 years of love , that really is remarkable, not many will ever experience that. 🙏❤️
There's something more heartfelt of live version, not to dicredic recorded version which compared to this live version sounds a little stale. Plus Worrel on Keyboards rips a solo that should of been on the album. It's Improvised as he is that player( Miles Davis alumni). But Tina Weymouth, Franz and Harrison and Byrne make this a wonderful live version not to mention the guitarist who laying back rhythmicly.
They just couldn’t stand the fact that he had so much more talent than they did. When he went off on his own they knew they couldn’t cut it without him and wouldn’t keep raking in the big bucks. So they started publicly attacking him at every opportunity afterwards… particularly Tina and Chris, who even slandered him in a book later on. It’s not his fault they didn’t have enough talent to Make a go of it without him. Chris/Tina (Christina?) bragged about how much money they made with the Tom Tom Club to put their kids through college but they still to this day bitch and moan about how “David” screwed them up by leaving the band. Phonies from Fairfield, CT. LOL. I guess they just wanted more money because it’s so expensive to live in Fairfield. White enclave of rich phonies just like them. At least Byrne was real.
When he wraps his arms around the lamp.......Love that. Genuinely happy, like a little kid. Wonderful, perfect. The less we say about it the better. Thank you, David.
The way the guitarists smile at each other on their riffs... happy all of them creating magic...privilege to enjoy the multi talented group...favorite song... grateful
I can't explain what this song does to me. It's very difficult to explain. In the midst of alcoholism and rife anxiety it speaks to me. The only thing I can say is it takes away a lot of worry and strife. And it's going to be my wedding song. My wife to be doesn't know yet. But she lifted up her wings.
Home is where I want to be Pick me up and turn me round I feel numb, burn with a weak heart I guess I must be having fun The less we say about it the better Make it up as we go along Feet on the ground Head in the sky It's ok I know nothing's wrong...nothing I got plenty of time You got light in your eyes And you're standing here beside me I love the passing of time Never for money Always for love Cover up and say goodnight...say goodnight Home, is where I want to be But I guess I'm already there I come home, she lifted up her wings Guess that this must be the place I can't tell one from another Did I find you, or you find me? There was a time before we were born If someone asks, this where I'll be where I'll be We drift in and out Sing into my mouth Out of all tohse kinds of people You got a face with a view I'm just an animal looking for a home Share the same space for a minute or two And you love me till my heart stops Love me till I'm dead Eyes that light up, eyes look through you Cover up the blank spots Hit me on the head
That moment of 'perfect synchronization' between the genius musicianship of the GREAT Bernie Worrell (Rest in Power) and Alex Weir is pure beauty! Such an amazing song and expression of the artistic ideal. Simply fantastic in every way.
I rented this DVD from Netflix before they did video streaming. Was just getting into the Talking Heads. I thought the concert was pretty damned enjoyable, but I became a fan for life when he started dancing with the lamp.
5:19 the drum stick wave in the back. Knowing that he just drummed the hell out of the drums through this song, and that they just lit the place on fire. That's awesome. Like something out of Step Brothers, but sincerely well deserved. Incredible performance by Chris and the entire group. There's only one Talking Heads performance I've seen that tops this, and that'd be the 1980 performance of "Born Under Punches" in Rome. I can't think of anything by them, or anyone else, that really tops that. ua-cam.com/video/YO7N2tFb0X8/v-deo.html
“Self taught”? Oh you mean playing the guitar since you were the age of 14 when the bass guitar has the same 4 strings as the low 4 strings of a regular guitar but pitched an octave lower means that you’re “starting off from scratch” When you pick up a bass but you’ve played guitar for 14 years? What a joke. You obviously know nothing about guitars or music. Any competent guitarist can switch back-and-forth between the bass and regular guitar without much trouble if they feel like it. She never even played anything but a four string bass. Good jazz bassists play five and even six string bass guitars as well as 4 string basses a lot better than she does.. She’s only passable. There are plenty of female bass players out there who can play circles around her.
@@Mark-bw1wx I play bass myself, as a matter of fact. Not very well right now, but it's fun. Maybe I'm wrong about that fact and that's okay. You didn't have to be a dildo about it.
@@Mark-bw1wx Dude, I’ve worked with people who STRUGGLE to play the simplest of scales, but have a PASSION for music. You clearly only rely on skill and cannot appreciate someone playing for the passion or the art. You have a very limited and dim lit view on it all, my friend, and I hope you wake up one day.
Not really a Talking Heads fan but most all songs are specific to me like that. Just heard this in Starbucks earlier and had to look it up. It's a wonderfully upbeat tune though that I don't hear very often and never get tired of. Few songs get me like that.

Sprinkling glitter over my life and loving me 'til my heart stopped. This song brings it all back. Thank you. Whoever you are. Wherever you are.
Last decades passed, there were and still are a lot of people making music...and a few of them were true ARTISTS, making music. The Talking Heads were big time top of that list. Thanks for the upload, great vid and audio.

Those harmonies! Damn!
so do I, always make a point of playing this version. ALWAYS!

It blows my mind that this isn't far more popular. An egregiously underrated classic.
David byrne...genius...so original...love it!!
Egregiously.
Wow! Nice word use!!!!

I adore this song. It’s so simple and it sounds like trying to explain how you love someone.
Don't think it is simple to imitate though
@@antidepressant11 no need. The Talking Heads said it perfectly here. “I guess that this must be the place…”.

Pick me up and turn me round

I guess I must be having fun
The less we say about it the better
Make it up as we go along
Feet on the ground
Head in the sky
It's ok I know nothing's wrong...nothing
I got plenty of time
You got light in your eyes
And you're standing here beside me
I love the passing of time
Never for money
Always for love
Cover up and say goodnight...say goodnight
