No shame in buying wuartz! I own a seiko sarb035 and I must say that I love it, but I also know that in 2/3 years it’s gonna need maintenance, which will cost half of the watch’s price…
While the field watch looks ok, the Chrono still looks like something you win out of a coin pusher machine. I wonder how many they sell to still offer that turd
A close friend of mine, not big into watches or horological history, excitedly showed me his new MVMT watch the other night when we met up for some pilsners. I just didn’t have the heart to tell him. Looked like one of the Invictas that skipped QC checkpoints.
Tbh 90% of guys don't care about horology. They just want a watch that looks good with their outfits, and MVMT watches do that. Just like Fossil watches do. Just like many AliExpress watches do.
@@fark69 That's like saying $5 golden plastic earrings look good, depending on the outfit. If the goal was to look cheap and tacky it's surely accomplished. Otherwise not so much. Paying $100 for $5 earrings would also make you look stupid on top

Can't help but feel offerings from Lorus gives them a run for their money, if only Seiko and Lorus actually know how to properly market their watches. Frankly the lumibrite dial field watch from Lorus is all the field watch anyone ever needs.
I bought a MVMT Chrono 40mm gunmetal for only 45 Euro and at that price point I'm pretty happy with it. I really like that Braun BN0095 shown at 6:56, but that's a 500+ Euro watch ...
A Casio MRW-200h can be had for $20. It's smaller, lighter, has 24h markers, 100m of WR, day/date complication, a 10 year battery life, a timing bezel and can be had for under $20. The only real downside is that the lume is terrible. But I'd take it over any MVMT watch any day, even if the MVMT watch was half the price. Hell, even if the MVMT watch was free.
If you want a really good field watch check Bertucci. The chrono looks good but how do you read it ? If I really need to read a chrono it's digital only for me.
I never thought it would happen, but I just ordered a 38mm ocean plastic watch from mvmt. At $85, it seems to justify its price. Nothing earth shattering, but a fun addition to a large collection.
Only one glaring design flaw with the Field. That being the MVMT logo prominently displayed on the dial. Give me a real affordable luxury watch, a Spaghetti Scameti.
@@matthewstrong1114 I was sold on the smaller case diameter and the tritium tube feature, I like the Hamilton khaki field too, but the lug to lug on the 38mm manual wind is longer than I'd prefer. Bulova also has a nice vintage style field watch, but I think the dial is printed with no lume and the movement is a miyota 8k series movement which I hope has been updated to a hacking handwinding one, but Bulova seem to price their watches with these movements higher than a lot of watches with a seiko nh35 even though they are fairly comparable. Microbrands also widely use the miyota 9k series movements for competitive prices too. This makes the window of the 8k series much smaller, operating in that space between quartz and a seiko 6r series , miyota 9k series and the eta 2824-2 movement and subsequent clones.
Picked up the field a couple months back for £48 and tbh for that price, I'm happy. I knew what I was buying, but like the look and the size being oversized myself, I would have preferred saphire glass all the same.
Ive got 3 MVMT Chrono (also the one in the review) and I like them. Have them for years and are great. The straps arent the best ever but I dont really care: i just order a new one after a year or so. I get lot of compliments of people, even from people who own more expensive watches.
Just getting back into classic watches after a few years of having a smart watch. The watch youtube community has evolved hella, nice to see people making content on these niche still. Time to get back into collecting 😎
The skeletonized hands for the chrono are a novel choice, and does make sense given how often the hour and minute hands obscure the chrono hands on many watches.
Can you do a re-review of Vincero watches? They released a bunch of automatics now and seemed to have picked up in quality just like MVMT, but they previously shit the bed so hard that they’re (understandably) being actively ignored despite their new releases, and I just want to know if they’re actually any better or if it’s just a facade
Vincero has been putting out some good designs too. From Miyota-powered automatic dive watches to vintage-inspired dive chronographs, I’m interested to see if these fashion watch brands are shifting to more respectable design languages.
It seems to be the case. Also, it seems Vincero has become more like Fossil in terms of products. Edit: one criticism of their chronographs is I noticed they over use the VK64 movement, which to be fair isn’t bad for the price point, but I have seen better value too. I do like my outrider, and my reserve saw a lot of wrist time (based on the scratches it has accrued over the time I have had it).
They're still the kings of inflated prices. Charging more than 600$ for some automatic miyota when people could get fully Swiss made watches with Swiss movements that price. And their other installments: 300$ for a plastic backpack. 180$ for some foldable knife. 35$ for a PAPER BOOK. You're honestly insane if you buy from them.
I bought one a few years back because they were sponsering a youtuber I followed. I was looking for a cheap watch and the mvmt watch looked good for me, I wore it twice since I bought it. I didn't pay a whole lot since it was priced of. For what I payed I am happy with it.
I recently picked up the MVMT Field automatic. It hasn’t let me down at all. It has great water resistance, lume , the display is excellent as well. I prefer having a day/date feature because I have a difficult time keeping track because my work schedule is random. The secondhand design is exquisite. The arrowhead is a nice touch. One critique is the thickness of the case. I’m often reluctant to work with it because it’s a little bit clunky. Another shortfall is the exhibition case back. The movement looks generic. That being said, it’s practically a budget Hamilton. I like the display so much, I decided to buy the quartz version for $40.00 I’ll miss the sweeping secondhand but I hope it’ll be a little bit easier to wear when I’m working.
They did release a pretty promising GMT in the form of the Cali diver. They even got is ISO certified, and it costs only 20 more than the Seiko 5 GMT. Only difference between the two is the MVMT uses a sapphire.
Do these watches generally run small? I purchased a 44mm watch and it absolutely doesn't fit my wrist. Keep in mind I have pretty small wrists for a man. I'm assuming they sent the wrong size.
I really like the look of the tan field mvmt watch but obviously hesitate to purchasing it as i am new to purchasing watches and the only watches i have ever had have been purchased for me are as gifts. Does anyone know any good watches that look similar to the tan field watch that is better value for money and affordable.
Just got an ad from MVMT about a mechanical watch of which they are supposedly only making 500 copies. You know you have to pick that up for a video when it comes out mate!
I bought one of these field watches about a year ago and... it's really not terrible. I'd give it a 6 or 7 out of 10 in its price range. Granted, I bought mine for $11 on Mercari and it came with the original strap and a pretty darn decent Fossil leather strap. For $100, get a Steeldive/Addiesdive/Cadisen/Berny/Boderry but for under $20 shipped, you could definitely do worse.
These are more fashionable vs practical so expecting Omega or Tag quality would be disappointing. I have a few of these and get compliments all the time. Solid watch for the price tag imo
Miyota quartz movements, although cheap, are just as accurate and durable as Seiko or Swiss quartz movements. I have a watch with a basic Miyota 2035 which I bought 24 years ago in 1999, and it’s still working well today. A watch having a Miyota movement is not a negative.
I just went through a fair amount of comments, and why had nobody mentioned the fact a chrono with no markers on any of the subdials is beyond useless?! If you time a certain events, how can you read hours, minutes and seconds?
They still need another 5 years of wins before most enthusiasts would ever pick them over Timex but it's a step in the right direction that should be praised nonetheless.
Ever looked at CLUSE from Amsterdam? They have a nice design to their case back/ rear, which makes it seem they are not just re-badged Ali express trash like DW.
Gotta love the clickbait in the title😅 Having said that, the field isn’t terrible. I would venture to say its design is to do with the acquisition by the movado group. I do think, however, that they still offer nothing that puts them above their competitors in the same price bracket. Also, saying ‘fashionistas’ have a watch to wear in MVMT, I think is an insult to fashionistas 😄
I'm not an experienced collector and from what I've learnt from UA-cam I'm not much of a fan of MVMT or any other fast fashion Watch brands ... but I just saw the MVMT Field for ₹ 2585 (US $ 21.60) and I couldn't resist.. I just bought it. Let's see what I'll get
While the field watch looks like a reasonably competent offering the chrono is not. As Ben stated the hands are too short. I suggest that the sub-registers are useless. They are positioned too close to the center of the watch face. Without any markings what do they even mean? Do they even move? And if so what do they represent? For me these are still candidates for a discount store bargain bin.
Thanks Ben for another entertaining and unbiased review. For me the Chrono just looks boring and stupid, although the size would suit my salami wrist. The field watch looks good and is a good size; but that cheapo Miyota movement. And I couldn't get past having that stupid brand on my wrist. I sound like a snob, however it's their fault I feel that way. I say save some cash and buy a Casio..👍
Hi Terry, unfortunately UA-cam automatically removes most comments that include external URL links - I typically can't even link to my own site without UA-cam detecting it as spam 😩
It would be interesting to get your thoughts on STORM LONDON watches...I have a few and can honestly say...they are great! Yes they are quartz and are certainly a fashion brand but the build and the finishing is certainly far far better than MVMT and the like
I have just seen something that may your toes curl . I thought that would check ebay for MVMT watches . Guess what I fount . Mens MVMT Style watch, Strap Monster, Brand
I haven't watched this video in its complete just yet. But let me point this out, if someone thinks that something is better than another product then they are right because it's right for them, who cares if they wear an MVMT or a Rolex or Casio? No one because at the end of the day it's a watch to tell time and look the part so to speak, some people don't want to spend more than $150-$200 on a watch, I personally wear a Blue Dial PRX from Tissot and appreciate/ the craftsmanship but some people don't care as much as you or I; we have to respect that (if you choose to).
There's having an opinion and then there's selling out and lying in exchange for money. In that video Alpha M claimed MVMT had better 'heritage' than Rolex, which is objectively false. Opinions don't come into it when the claims are that blatantly wrong.
I have a question. Are Tufina watches good? I never deard of them and cant find a rewiew about their history. Btw i am new at watch collecting so i dont know as much as i should.
It was fun to watch, but this was a pointless video. A watch nerd criticizing MVMT is like a Star Wars nerd ripping on the Disney SW movies. They don't make them for us, they make them to sell to the masses, and sell they do. Alas.
Hey Ben, if you want to review a pseudo fashion brand, you should review the the fossil grant chronograph! It is much better than the mvmt. I would recommend the gilt dial on brow leather
I just want to know who was the "genius" that invented the "chrono" without markers on the subdials! If the idea was just to have some randomly spinning hands ... And the Filed ... I'll stick to my Expedition! Oh and the prices they still asking for it is absurd!
I own 4 MVMT watches, to be honest I love them. 4 different styles and colors, 4 everyday wearers that I don't mind beating up They got me into liking watches and looking at other more high end brands. they made me want to learn about watches. And you can buy them with discount code upon discount code, I think In total I just paid over 300 euros for all 4. And that much variety was definitely worth that. Do I want some better quality now that i'm a bit older? yeah but as starter watches they make a lot of sense if you shop smart
what are some nice looking watches with half decent materials not made in china for $300 and under? I'm not into watches, I only own a samsung gear s3 frontier but have always kind of window shopped and looked at watches but dont know what to look for or anything. Just see nice looking ones and want to buy but never do.

These are more fashionable vs practical so expecting Omega or Tag quality would be disappointing. I have a few of these and get compliments all the time. Solid watch for the price tag imo
The field one costs $40 on Amazon India should I go for it?
5 years from now Nico Leonard is gonna put them in the god tier category 😂
The field watch is currently £30 on amazon black friday deal
That Alpha dude was ridiculed so much for that "better than a Roles" comment I almost felt sorry for him. He was the laughing stock of YT.
Well deserved imo
It says something when he even triggered the people who also hate Rolex with that statement.
Ever looked at CLUSE from Amsterdam? They have a nice design to their case back/ rear, which makes it seem they are not just re-badged Ali express trash like DW.
I’d rather have a Seiko 5 to be honest - at least it’ll be of great quality, mechanical, and have a great heritage.
Gotta love the clickbait in the title😅
Having said that, the field isn’t terrible. I would venture to say its design is to do with the acquisition by the movado group.
I do think, however, that they still offer nothing that puts them above their competitors in the same price bracket.
Also, saying ‘fashionistas’ have a watch to wear in MVMT, I think is an insult to fashionistas 😄
The problem is that the Field is being sold for… $99. That’s insane.
I, too, hope to have my own watch club some day. It may only feature modded Seikos, but still
Looks nice but there are far better field watches available for cheaper.
Let's see what I'll get
Can you please review the watch for me
While the field watch looks like a reasonably competent offering the chrono is not.
I first heard of MVMT when Jacksfilms did a sponsorship. And that video was the only time he wore that watch.
It's that kamikoto knives of watches.
I ordered one once and returned it immediately.
Can anyone please explain to me why a comment I've made on Clyde J's comment keeps being deleted? I wanted to explain to him how to order NATO straps.
Hi Terry, unfortunately UA-cam automatically removes most comments that include external URL links - I typically can't even link to my own site without UA-cam detecting it as spam 😩
@@BensWatchClub Thanks for that Ben and for all your efforts on your channel.
Someone bought the movement company? They must be nuts~
That’s present day Movado for you
They are the middle man. I still remember your old video 🤣🤣🤣
I wanted to buy an analog watch but disliked the female versions. are there any good and affordable unisex watches (is that a thing)?
I kind of like that field mvmt, but for a max price of 30 - 35 pounds. Not a pennie more.
Never seen one in person. Judging from pictures the quality looks a little better since Movado bought them.
why doesn't anyone ever show the lume?
Just started the video, but this is the first mvmt i ever liked the dial of...
Yeyy you've selected my country N. Macedonia. Cheers from a fan from Macedonia
What do watch guys think of Movado? I never hear anyone clown them or praise them. They’re a giant brand that’s just there…
Will have to take a look at them at some point; never been impressed (at least looks-wise), but maybe there's more to them.
Nice “field watch”, but I miss a minute track 😕
Review the Orient Star RE-AU0004B please.
If possible review Titan Hyper Lume watch (largest watch maker in India)
I don't think the dark date window was "unique", I think they found a date disc that happened to fit xD
Not a big deal but did he say what happened to his hair? Only curious.
MVMT - A $5 quartz mechanism in a $10 case for $100 !!! LoL
Alas.
I like the field watch.
4 different styles and colors, 4 everyday wearers that I don't mind beating up
They got me into liking watches and looking at other more high end brands. they made me want to learn about watches.
And you can buy them with discount code upon discount code, I think In total I just paid over 300 euros for all 4. And that much variety was definitely worth that. Do I want some better quality now that i'm a bit older? yeah but as starter watches they make a lot of sense if you shop smart
The watch in the background at 3.29
Growing up and playing goldeneye N64, Rolexs will only ever be the Stun watch to me
what are some nice looking watches with half decent materials not made in china for $300 and under? I'm not into watches, I only own a samsung gear s3 frontier but have always kind of window shopped and looked at watches but dont know what to look for or anything. Just see nice looking ones and want to buy but never do.
Yeah... that field watch is deecent... if it was like 40.0mm it would sell alot i bet..
Is it me or are both of those chapter rings misaligned?
