They sound like mini synthetisers

These are Dan Moï, traditional jew harps from the H'Mong culture in Vietnam. I present here different shapes of dan mois with several numbers of spikes

Why it sounds more deep with 3 spikes?

The tongue is larger and heavier so note is lower (almost 1 octave lower) :)
