Thank you very much for remembering the Ten Boom family. I grew up with their story of opposition to the Nazis and their efforts to save Jews. Never again.
Have you read the book The Hiding Place? If you haven't please read it, it's such a wonderful book (I've read it multiple times and it always encourages me to be who Good has called me to be - I'm a Christian).
I visited Ravensbruck, the camp where Corrie was sent to with her sister Betsie, deep inside Germany, and it was a chilling visit. I saw Betsie's name on the list of people who perished there, reminding me of the reality of their sacrifice. Corrie is honoured in Yad Vashem. ❤
Ravensbrück by Sarah Helm is a horrifying detailed look into Ravensbrück that I highly recommend. It's beyond my understanding how people can be so cruel to one another, but then like the bible says, no one is good and the human heart is sick beyond understanding.

Yes, you are correct as to the depravity of the human heart and the cruelty man can mete out to his fellow man, but thankfully with inspiring stories like that of Corrie ten Boom there is an antidote to hate & sin. And that is love, meŕcy, forgiveness and kindness and people are able to show these traits too. As I walked up to Ravensbruck in a beautiful wooded area close to a large lake it was hard to imagine this was the place of such a horrific death camp, and as I walked the long winding road made up of bricks to its entrance it dawned on me that this path was likely constructed by forced prisoner labour from the camp, which made it all the more chilling. A large proportion of the site had not been touched since the 1940's and lay in situ in semi-dereliction, not painted up and restored as some camps are for visitor viewing, so the genuineness of what one saw was very real and difficult to comprehend in terms of the atrocities meted out there. I'm glad I made the effort to find it as it will stay with me as reminder of the many just like Corrie and Betsie who had to stare evil in the face as it was practiced there. It is certainly worth a visit, and I shall certainly purchase Sarah Helm's book if it is available.
I was drawn to reread The Hiding Place during covid I had read it years ago Seen the movie and her testimony while she was still alive. I've listened to the audiobook multiple times since then and see history is repeating itself but this time it will be worse. Zechariah 12-14

I also have seen The Hiding Place several times. You might be interested to know that there is a sequel to "The Hiding Place" called "Return to The Hiding Place" which was utterly amazing as well! It tells the story of Hans Poley and other young people the ten Booms collaborated with in the resistance. Absolutely fascinating!!

Corrie Ten Boom’s story had a profound impact on me as a young Christian. Her book and the movie are well worth seeing, particularly regarding what is happening to Jews today. Agreed. The rise of antisemitism that is growing around the globe is not only sickening but shocking given that the Holocaust wasn't that long ago. Unfortunately, I believe it will only get worse within the next 10-30 years but God's Word has predicted this would happen at the time of the end. Zechariah 12: 2-3. Whether or not we are close to that time, the God of Israel never sleeps and I know He will defend the Jewish people.

I went to Corrie ten Boom’s house a few months ago, 80 years after her arrest, almost to the day! It was extremely moving. Her life makes you think about your commitment as a christian.
I heard Corrie speak at a church in 1975. Her faith has been an inspiration my entire life. Her book and movie The Hiding place has given me strength to walk through difficult times. The love she and Betsy had of the Lord has truly brought God deeper into my heart. Thank you for keeping her story alive. Young people need to know about this.
In one of Derek Prince's teaching, he says "When you join the army you have no guarantee that your life will spared". Just like when you become a follower of Christ, there is no guarantee that you will not have to lay down your life. As we can see things unfolding in the world today how Christians are being martyred for their faith in Christ Jesus. We don't know when our turn will come. Keep on praying, keep on hoping, keep on believing.

I have always, for many years, loved the story of Corrie and Betsy, and often think about them and their faith shining through in the darkest of places. I have the dvd "The Hiding place" produced many years ago by Billy Graham foundation, and it is one of my most precious possessions. Thank you for showcasing her.
Heaven would have rejoiced at receiving the Ten Boom family. What was incredible about Corrie's life was her faithfulness to God that she took the love of Christ to a hurting world & gave them the hope of salvation.

I saw a french documentary about antisemitism and how in the 1940s Iraq started expelling jews because of the Israel affair. Got me thinking about Saddam Hussein how allthough a dictator, he was more tolerant.
I’m forever thankful for those very brave families of the resistance in Europe. My father was a navigator whose plane went down over Holland, he parachuted into a corn field and was saved by the farmer who hid him with the Dutch underground - so many months until the Allies came . Thank you to all the families who selflessly helped others!❤
I have read many of the books by Corrue Ten Boom. Corrie and her family saved Jewish people from the Nazis. They paid a high price for their love and bravery. But they did it because of their devout Christian faith and love of others inspired by Jesus Christ.
Gosh, its just hard for me to think about the Jewish people having to run for their lives just because they are Jews. The people who helped saved them are beyond heros.

Corrie ten Boom was the bestknown among Christians for she travelled the world after war past war. But there have been astonishing many people in this fight against the NAZIs. It is estimated that in Berlin survived 4000 Jews hidden. Called " submarines". The famous Comedian and showmaster Hans Rosenthal was one of them

I was a little girl of about 10 years old. My parents were missionaries in Africa..and Corrie T. had traveled for her may speaking engagements. We live in a fairly remote place..but our mom asked her to tea ..and so we met this amazing woman of faith. The had such depth of faith and character.

He regularly worshiped in Jewish communal worship, what we call synagogues. He preached from the Jewish text, from the Bible. He celebrated the Jewish festivals all mentioned in the Bible. It is a remarkable story of the love man naturally has for each other that should never be shunned or driven away from the light by those who are inconvenienced by it.
My great-great grandma knew Corrie Ten Boom. They were neighbors and friends. My great.-great grandma also hid Jews in her home. Whenever the soldiers came knocking, she would pull her long hair over her face, take out her dentures and babble like she was mentally ill and unable to understand what the soldiers were asking. She was never caught. I don’t know how many people my great-great grandma saved but she was definitely a hero and a very courageous one. My grandma told me her story many times and I never got tired of hearing it. I just wish I knew her name.

I've read Corey Ten Boom's books many times and am always inspired by her immense faith! Oddly enough, about 25 years ago, my son dated a gal whose last name was Ten Boom. Her father was half Chinese. That was a branch of the family who were missionaries in China.
I had the privilege of getting to visit this same hiding place. Such a humbling place to be. To think about such bravery with no benefit to themselves.
All the time, there are people making others aware of the bravery of good citizens and I thank them. These people did selfless things at the risk of their own lives and many were adulated at the time but many get buried. Their stories are there but not as prominent and their stories will always need to be kept in the light.
This is a history lesson of sadness, yet great hope. We should not forget the past as humanity will fail in the future. God bless the Jewish communities around the world. I meet Corrie Ten Boom in the 70’s and shook her hand. She spoke at a church on forgiveness and mentioned seeing one of the German guards after the war.
We went to see the Ten Boom house… the “hiding place” behind the wall is very tight. My kids crawled thru the hole & were fascinated by the whole story. (They were also allowed to ring the “alarm bell”)
Corrie ten Boom is one of my heroes of the faith, I am looking forward to meeting her one day. Such a remarkable woman who grew up in a home so full of faith and love. She knew the presence of Jesus in a way I don't think very many people have.
I am a Dutch Christian, and I know of her. Incredibly brave and upright woman 🙏

I visited Ravensbruck, the camp where Corrie was sent to with her sister Betsie, deep inside Germany, and it was a chilling visit. I saw Betsie's name on the list of people who perished there, reminding me of the reality of their sacrifice. Corrie is honoured in Yad Vashem. ❤
Ravensbrück by Sarah Helm is a horrifying detailed look into Ravensbrück that I highly recommend. It's beyond my understanding how people can be so cruel to one another, but then like the bible says, no one is good and the human heart is sick beyond understanding.
@@endofsight9841 Thank you for informing me of this, I must look it up. Yes, you are correct as to the depravity of the human heart and the cruelty man can mete out to his fellow man, but thankfully with inspiring stories like that of Corrie ten Boom there is an antidote to hate & sin.
And that is love, meŕcy, forgiveness and kindness and people are able to show these traits too.
As I walked up to Ravensbruck in a beautiful wooded area close to a large lake it was hard to imagine this was the place of such a horrific death camp, and as I walked the long winding road made up of bricks to its entrance it dawned on me that this path was likely constructed by forced prisoner labour from the camp, which made it all the more chilling.
A large proportion of the site had not been touched since the 1940's and lay in situ in semi-dereliction, not painted up and restored as some camps are for visitor viewing, so the genuineness of what one saw was very real and difficult to comprehend in terms of the atrocities meted out there. I'm glad I made the effort to find it as it will stay with me as reminder of the many just like Corrie and Betsie who had to stare evil in the face as it was practiced there.
It is certainly worth a visit, and I shall certainly purchase Sarah Helm's book if it is available.

I also have seen The Hiding Place several times. You might be interested to know that there is a sequel to "The Hiding Place" called "Return to The Hiding Place" which was utterly amazing as well! Agreed. The rise of antisemitism that is growing around the globe is not only sickening but shocking given that the Holocaust wasn't that long ago. Unfortunately, I believe it will only get worse within the next 10-30 years but God's Word has predicted this would happen at the time of the end. Zechariah 12: 2-3.

In one of Derek Prince's teaching, he says "When you join the army you have no guarantee that your life will spared". Just like when you become a follower of Christ, there is no guarantee that you will not have to lay down your life. As we can see things unfolding in the world today how Christians are being martyred for their faith in Christ Jesus. We don't know when our turn will come. Keep on praying, keep on hoping, keep on believing.

My father was a navigator whose plane went down over Holland, he parachuted into a corn field and was saved by the farmer who hid him with the Dutch underground - so many months until the Allies came . I have read many of the books by Corrue Ten Boom. Corrie and her family saved Jewish people from the Nazis. They paid a high price for their love and bravery. But they did it because of their devout Christian faith and love of others inspired by Jesus Christ.

I was a little girl of about 10 years old. My parents were missionaries in Africa..and Corrie T. had traveled for her may speaking engagements. We live in a fairly remote place..but our mom asked her to tea ..and so we met this amazing woman of faith. The had such depth of faith and character.
Her book The Hiding Place has been my favorite book since I was a child. It’s so powerful!

He regularly worshiped in Jewish communal worship, what we call synagogues. He preached from the Jewish text, from the Bible. He celebrated the Jewish festivals all mentioned in the Bible. A Christian just means someone who believes in Jesus and what Jesus taught.

What an absolute legend, her and her family and all those who did their best to resist and not give in.
It is a remarkable story of the love man naturally has for each other that should never be shunned or driven away from the light by those who are inconvenienced by it.
My great-great grandma knew Corrie Ten Boom. They were neighbors and friends. My great.-great grandma also hid Jews in her home. Whenever the soldiers came knocking, she would pull her long hair over her face, take out her dentures and babble like she was mentally ill and unable to understand what the soldiers were asking. She was never caught. I don’t know how many people my great-great grandma saved but she was definitely a hero and a very courageous one. My grandma told me her story many times and I never got tired of hearing it. I just wish I knew her name.

Also the CHURCH IS NOT ONLY Gentile but also Jew for there are Jews who have accepted Our Lord Jesus as the Messiah and rejected modern rabbinic judaism, and no I'm not referring to the "Messianic Jews" I'm referring to Jews who call themselves Christians and consider themselves part of the Church!

I've read Corey Ten Boom's books many times and am always inspired by her immense faith! Oddly enough, about 25 years ago, my son dated a gal whose last name was Ten Boom. Her father was half Chinese. That was a branch of the family who were missionaries in China.

All the time, there are people making others aware of the bravery of good citizens and I thank them. These people did selfless things at the risk of their own lives and many were adulated at the time but many get buried. Their stories are there but not as prominent and their stories will always need to be kept in the light.
This is a history lesson of sadness, yet great hope. We should not forget the past as humanity will fail in the future. God bless the Jewish communities around the world. I meet Corrie Ten Boom in the 70’s and shook her hand. She spoke at a church on forgiveness and mentioned seeing one of the German guards after the war.
We went to see the Ten Boom house… the “hiding place” behind the wall is very tight. My kids crawled thru the hole & were fascinated by the whole story. (They were also allowed to ring the “alarm bell”)

I met Corrie Ten Boom when I was young. In 2006 visiting the Netherlands, we went to Haarlem, tried to visit the Ten Boom house, but it was closed 🙁
I read her book in the late 70s in junior high and was very impacted by it. Her family was amazing.
Corrie ten Boom is one of my heroes of the faith, I am looking forward to meeting her one day. Such a remarkable woman who grew up in a home so full of faith and love. She knew the presence of Jesus in a way I don't think very many people have.
