@@khachok My grandad gave the impression that WWII was a bit of a lark. I remember once visiting him in hospital and mentioning that the Royal Marines had just accidentally invaded Spain when doing exercises at Gibraltar, and he amused himself calculating how much explosive would be needed to blow up the border post. It was only when I went to Normandy with him for the 65th anniversary of the landings and he pointed out where his foxhole was that it struck me that it hadn't all been a big game for him.
@@petertaylor4980Different people find different ways of dealing with stressful and likely traumatic events in their lives. I guess for your grandad and many others their way to cope was to joke around it. For some others it was they never talked about it.
Cononel Schneitz is a funny name. In Austrian dialect "schneitz di" is said to people with a dripping nose if you want them to clean their nose. (The standard verb is "sich schnäuzen", but the dialect one sounds funnier)
This is an Austrian perspective only, in German "Schnäuzen" is too far removed from "Schneitz". Thats said, in German the name reminds me of the word "Schneid". I honestly don't know how to translate it, so let me describe. Schneid is usually used in a military context only. A young officer (who has not seen much battle, yet) might have "Schneid" or be "schneidig". Meaning he is carrying himself in a certain pompous way. Head high, pronounced voice, like that. Veteran soldiers often lose this pompous attitude. An excellent depiction of "Schneid" would be the way Marshal Zhukov was displayed in the movie the Death of Stalin. You remember the scene when he makes his entry, that is "Schneid" !

I don't know what happened the first night but something did and I couldn't stop loudly, heartily and moronically laughing. Like I couldn't hear some jokes over my own hahas! My face hurt from smiling and my head hurt from laughing and sometimes I had to remind myself to breathe. A great sign! Or you actually broke something in my brain, I don't know 😂 The narrative sketches are so good now and the songs have always been fantastic. And I was thrilled to see the older sketch - I never thought I'd get to see it and it's one of my favourites! It was even better than expected. Thank you so much for two amazing shows ❤️
Thanks for coming, we really really enjoyed those shows
Wow! Fantastic! Really well done! The lighting, the sounds, the make up, everything!👏🏻🤩
Brilliant! The perfect balance between todays madness and the madness of days past 🙏
I can’t get over the carbon credits line 😄 great sketch. Loved the facial expressions! And thank you for an amazing show last night!
Thanks! And thanks for coming along to the show, we had a blast
Arms - the ponytails are perfect
This is great on so many levels.
You leave me in stitches! And God knows how much anyone who loves Florida needs a laugh right now.
Hog has the confused and amazed look of a little boy down. He should try getting the kid's menu next time you go out to eat.
YESSS I wanna see the looks on the poor staff's faces when a grown man shows up 😂
They could make a sketch about that 😂😶🌫️
'And the kids menu for him please.'
'The guy with the moustache?'
@@Ensign_Roque When you get mistaken for younger. That would be a funny one.
@@Emma_W_ 🤣
Ah, so the lack of sleep explains why Grandad looks about a million years old!
Arms and the cute little pigtails OMG SO CYOOOOOOOOT
I am very, very impressed. You managed to make it extremely funny, yet still show a glimpse of the horrors of war.
Of course, no one will - in that department - ever beat the final scene of the final epsidoe of "Blackadder Goes Forth". But you, my lads, came close today. Well done!
Brilliant. Love the effects behind Grandad, disappearing into the cold hard judgemental reality of now. Oh! And a MILLION. so well deserved. Congratulations
Well the grandchildren wanted to be woke, now they will really really stay woke 😂

Underrated comment 🤣 By the way, this is literally how it went with me and my grandma. 4 year old me: "Gran, tell me about the war". Grandma: * proceeds to tell how they had to run away from the bombs when she was 5 * Me: * proceeds to dream of bombs being dropped on my city for decades after *
@@khachok My grandad gave the impression that WWII was a bit of a lark.
Haha, great side info
"Schnäutz dich", der Zusammenhang fällt mir erst jetzt auf 😅
@@opag78 Schneid exist in Austrian as well, but it's not used much. Courage or being courages would fit as translations too.
@@bonnie7898 More like Colonel Snout, but it's not far off 😊
The CGI and make-up on foil is amazing. Excellently done lads, one of the best sketches I've seen here in ages
1M subscribers! That's well deserved. Brilliant.
Still giggly from last night’s great show in Amsterdam and now I’m enjoying another perfect sketch!
What a great week: you got one million subs, I got to see you perform live and meet you in person!
I haven't finished watching it, but it already has so many different ways this could have gone all wrapped into one, and it's damn amazing
Especially the way he seems to learn as it goes on yet still fails because kids are unable to ever be satisfied
Oh my, generations gap, poignancy ... and Foil will be a handsome senior, and Arms and Hog are the cutest children, as always. I would read The Gruffalo to you.
Seriously! How does Hog not look any older than when he played Eoin in the St Patrick’s Day Parade sketch in 2018?! How is that possible!?! ☘️
He's timeless
I bet they have a time machine...
Maybe two years ago I had a thought that you should do something similar to this (the bedtime story thing) with the infamous Granny, but I'm so happy you did it with a different spin, very enjoyable 😊
Oh and P.S. it was great to see you guys in Finland, please come back again and maybe even sooner than two years apart this time! ❤
Would love a granny bedtime story, those poor children tho
Ahh woulda been fun with Granny! Thanks for coming in Finland. We'll get back soon as we can. Although don't think I could face writing another show for a few years yet!
Congratulations on 1 million subscribers! What a milestone! And so well deserved! I’m always pleased to see talented creative people reaching these big milestones. You worked so hard and you did it! Hopefully you can celebrate when you get back home and to the office. Remember to dig out that subscriber counter!
Congratulations on hitting 1 million subscribers! I can see that you've invested it all is make up and excellent lighting! Brilliant sketch!
Hands down, my favourite sketch yet!! A lot of giggling going on, & repeat views. Great job, guys!!
This is funny but touchingly true. Brilliant!
"Would you like to play it again sometime?"
"Yeah"
"Well then it's not like war"
Loved these lines.
Another great sketch! Congrats on a million 🎉
That was really not the reason I thought they'd be inappropriate 😂
Thanks for saying hi the other day
Can’t wait to see you in Vancouver!
Congrats on 1 million! Love the full range of use of the light effect
Looks like my prophecy of foil arms and hog reaching 1 million subscribers before the end of October or November was sort of right so well deserved Foil Arms and Hog 🎉🎉🎉
Haha i mean it WAS broad
Love this. I actually forgot we had the Patreon teaser of this so it was a nice surprise. The great production values create the atmosphere which contrasts well with the kids' perceptions.
Every Detail are so cute. The hair the blanker and of course the amazing storyteller..
You can't expect a guy who hasn't slept in 65 years to sing in tune
So many inuendos, so many burns 😂😂😂 good one!
Reminds me a bit of my Grandparents stories from childhood.
Their grandad is Harrison Ford? 😮😄 I love the grandchildren's facial expressions. 👌 The whole "you can't say this or that" thing is nuts.
Congrats on 1M subscribers, and thank you for a great show in Amsterdam last Tuesday!
Also loved the production on this one, it looks great and the comedic timing is perfect 👌
My grandmothers classic story was Gallipoli. Not a great way to go to sleep every night to a massacre
One of my grandmas classics was how her family had to flee and how almost all of her sibling died during war time😐
And they wondered why I had such a negative mindset as a child. 😅
😳😬
