Excellent video. Great shots. Thank you for the captions. Great narration. I love that you had NO music during all your shots--I love to hear the wind, water & footsteps. Keep up the good work!
I love this video; we're planning on doing a similar trip next week and watching this was inspirational; thank you! Beautiful camera work; I feel your timing and pans are perfect, I appreciate how long you hold on a shot and your choices of when to zoom in and out and especially your timelapse; great job, beautiful video!
I enjoyed your video! Our family has been going to the Wind Rivers and the Green River Lakes since the 1940's. I made a video describing my family's history with this beautiful area of the world.
Very nice! You guys had the mosquitoes a lot worse than what I just experienced. You are right about the epicness of The Winds. Well done on the video. That camera has an awesome zoom capability. Lacey is quite the angler!
Yeah we didn't have a good mosquito run this july. Winds we got ate up. The beartooths we got ate up. The lake chelan-sawtooths in Washington were so bad we actually hiked back out on day 1 haha. I got a good video from Libby Lake in the chelan-sawtooths of 100+ mosquitos swarming lacey
So scenic! That was my plan this summer, but I haven’t even been able to head to glacier peak trails or the n. Cascades. But, I’m just telling myself, that I’ll have next summer and the mountains will always be here.
Spectacular! Nice and slow pans interspersed with stills. Allows viewers time to soak in the awesome views. Also love the technique of looking off to side while moving at 17:20 instead of typical straight ahead view. Thanks for taking us along! Mark
amazing but a bit to exposed for my liking for sure as I was just imagining myself doing similar hike... mmm no I need my trees =DD beautiful regardless. Thank you for delivering on your promises when a month ago you told us to stick around while you are travelling way out there and have no much access to wifi)) we are here.
Another outstanding video and thank you for sharing! I've done a little packing and have always used Cutter's to stave off the mosquitoes. They're still there but they don't land on you. After seeing Lacy it was a reminder how relentless they can be!
I carry two cameras that I've acquired over a long period of time (haha). For video I used the Sony AX53 (bought this year) been super impressed with it and it's durability. For the time lapse and photography I use a Nikon D7200 (I bought in 2017).
He mentioned in the vlog that it was early July. I have heard that if you want to avoid the worst mosquito hatches in the Winds, it's best not to hike there during July.
thanks! For video I use a Sony AX-53 and for the timelapses I use my Nikon D7200 (what I used to use to film). It's a heavy set up to lug around but I lack the intelligence to care.
@@NorthwestWanderer Well, that sucks. I've had great success with Jungle Juice - 100% Deet. I try to avoid it - obviously chemicals isn't something I'm excited to use but when it comes to clouds of squito's - yeah, works super well... for me. BTW: great video. I'm looking forward to getting into the Winds next year.
@@wellseasonedhiker Over the past few years we've found out our best luck is pre-treating clothing with premethin and just showing as little skin as possible. Thanks. I hope you have an enjoyable trip in the winds!
Excellent job. Brought back memories of my two trips.

Sorry for the shaky timelapses. The Winds were windy and it was hard to anchor the tripod down because of it.
The wind is definitely part of the experience there from what I have heard. Great video though!! Looking forward to your other trips
@@travelclimb true that! Wish the wind lasted a bit longer actually... damn mosquitoes lol
Great video, beautiful Timelapse, thank you for sharing
Been hiking the Winds for 5 decades, beautiful climbing there as well. Good rock.
Beautiful views ❤️

Beautiful views. Now I see why they call in the *wind* river range. Love the time lapse videos. Thanks for taking us along.

The winds are truly beautiful. We avoided the mosquitoes with a Sept trip. I felt bad for Lacey.
I envy that you had good conditions - last summer I was in the same spot and was socked in with smoke. Really sucked. Excellent footage!

Lots of trees on the way there and where you camp.

What time of year did you hike this?
I was wondering what kind of camera gear you use?.....your videos are AMAZING!

Usually August has fewer mosquitos, the later in August the fewer mosquitos.
Can you tell me what bait Lacy used to catch the fish pls? I'll be there in 3 weeks. Thx
don't know the name but it was a leech lookin thing
That was a lot of mosquito bits. No deet???
never works for us
