Hello! You guys are so brave to be doing this kind of stuff! I get sea sick just by watching the ocean. Hope you all are doing well 🙏

Thanks for taking us along. Awsome job and life you have there. Those look like fairly calm seas compared to what you guys usually deal with... looking forward to the next one. Stay safe God bless.
You’re welcome. Unfortunately the next one was also the last one 🙁
@@Bigwavemaster1 why did you stop making the videos?
@@mdv2043 Too many restrictions put on me by our office. Making them became untenable.
@@Bigwavemaster1 I had a feeling it had something todo with corporate policy.. well brother keep doing what you do man . Iam sure those oilfield workers and others sleep better knowing they have guardian angles like you and your crew looking over them. Stay safe and God bless.
@@mdv2043 Thank you very much. I intend to continue filming any storms. Helps pay for my pension 😂
I miss my time at sea - like you, the rougher the better! Mind you it was a long time ago - 2006. I now miss my visits to the crews onboard when in port. That said, I am busier now than ever... How did I fit work in? I don't fancy the chilli chocolate? Vegetarian, gluten free and healthy my foot! Look at the beef on the chopping board? :-) Keep the videos coming.... Still praying for you guys! Blessings, Howard >
Thank you, Howard.
Always good to hear from you. I certainly wouldn’t be touching that chilli chocolate again, I’ll be sticking to the steak in the background 😊
Great video! Thanks for sharing! Stay safe!

Thank you. Hope your country gets back to some form of normality soon.
Thanks for sharing. Totally enjoy your videos.

Do you ever look to the incoming cloud shelf and ‘ahhhh shit’ because you know it’s going to be a rough one? Do you ever worry about rough weather or do you have confidence you’ll be able to handle it?

Hi Chief I hope you are well! another great vid. Where were the huge trawlers from?.
The one we were close to was registered in Hull with mostly British crew. I think the rest were Dutch & French. The one you see heading towards us was also from Hull.

Lost you on my feed for a while dunno how or why. Question ? How often does the hull and superstructure get X-rayed and or crack tested those plates really do take some punishment
Welcome back.

What I'm impressed with is how smoothly you guys handle those massive waves ship control. I notice your not bow breaking a ton of waves. No offense to other Captain but is that due to training?
The waves you see in this video are not very big. Where we work the seas regularly reach to well over 20 meters so our ships are built to handle these.
I’ve been in this job for 30 years so have developed ways of handling the big ones. You’ll see them in our storm videos.

@@Bigwavemaster1 Not sure why I thought this was so funny, but ilfe's been runnin' me thru the wringer these past few days. Perhaps that's why I got such a kick out of this. Thanx 4 the good laugh - I really needed it.
@@TheSWolfe I always try and inject a bit of humour into our vids. After all, we do have some characters on board 😂
@@Bigwavemaster1 No. Some? More like a ship-full of characters, each seaman w/his own unique attributes. Sometimes close to a comedy troupe, but always dedicated & serious about the job at hand, even if joking whilst performing it. Heavy teamwork accomplished w/a light heart. One of the many reasons those of us w/little to no maritime knowledge or skills have learned so much just viewing & keep coming back to see what you're all doing from day to day.
What do you guys think of the design on the EsVagt ships? Definetly non typical
Interesting, that’s for sure.
@@Bigwavemaster1 You would think in a headsea, the wave would just ride up the face of wave ? Less resistance due to the curves? I would love to sea those builders maybe show us a rough water trial ...Ultrecht is the builder i believe

What’s your role onboard and when are you back offshore?
1st Mate.
@@Bigwavemaster1 got a few questions🤣
What is the procedure if a window gets smashed on deck during a big storm?
When the daughter craft goes out, who is permitted to go on it?
What’s the food like when you’re offshore?
@@Ryan-lk3zy Unfortunately this will be our last Month at Sea video 😢
ua-cam.com/video/O8Kdw2b9cEQ/v-deo.html
When a window is smashed we turn the ship before the wind then crew go outside and put steel shutters up and seal them with expanding foam.
Most of the crew are qualified to go in the DC. Only the skipper, chief engineer and chief mate are not qualified.
The food is too good. I eat too much.
Wonderful as always.
06:02 Always remember to grease the nipples 😁
Xbows always look cool.

Anyone knows how big the waves and wind were at 27:00 when yacht visited them?
I’d say the were 4-5 meters significant. The wind would have been about 25 knots.

👍👍🤠🤠
😊
Im surprised they are allowed to fish so close to the rig and pipelines
Fishing vessels are allowed to tow all along the pipelines and as close as 500 meters to the platforms.
@@Bigwavemaster1 so relatively lenient regs. The whole structures would be a giant fish magnet I guess. What happened to the little bird looking for water?
@@carolynrose753 You can imagine the uproar among the fishing community when the oil industry first came to the North Sea? The 500 Meter Zone is a concession between the two parties. Pipe lines are generally buried these days.
I think the little bird carried on his merry way.
@@Bigwavemaster1 yes I guess many countries over there have small or non existent shore lines so are all competing for the same food source in open sea. Thankyou for that information it gives one a wider perspective of what happens in other parts of the world.

Sir, I’m not trying to be funny, but why is most of the crew white? Isn’t that unusual? I thought most seamen are from the Philippines.
They probably are deep sea where they can live on board a ship for a couple of years without spending a penny. They then retire.
I’ll stick to fishing! The waves aren’t as big when you’re catching fish!! Plus, we’re too busy to die!
Most of us are ex-fishermen. We came here for the easy life 😊
