Yet again Universal dumps on its own history. I know this attraction hasn't been there that long (7 yrs) but it's based on a number of classic movies and won't be replaced by anything worthwhile. One by one all the great attractions in the Universal parks are being dropped in favour of 'entertainment' or rides based on kiddies' films. These parks are supposed to celebrate the movies, as this now deceased attraction did very well. Anyway, I went through it last October and it was cool. How long before the Psycho house is torn down and rebuilt as a Harry Potter snack bar?
I agree that they should have something about those movies, but not this. You do know that the point of movies is 'entertainment',so I don't know what your problem is with Universal trying to make their park more entertaining.
Mickey784cr Sorry, I can barely remember writing this comment tbh. I suppose by 'entertainment' I meant attractions being replaced by areas filled with shops, shows, performers etc. Like I say, I can't really remember what I was thinking. However, the problem for me is that I can't imagine that they are going to build a new attraction based on the classic monsters. They are more interested in focusing on kid-friendly stuff than great movies. The House of Horrors was probably the last time we will see these characters in one of the parks. They could've come up with their own version of Disney's Haunted Mansion but using all the great Universal characters instead, that would be awesome. A dark ride focused on these characters would be perfect. When I was at the park the HOH seemed very popular and the guests were all really enjoying the experience. I just don't have faith that Universal will replace their old attractions with equally iconic properties. Swapping Kong/E.T with the Mummy and Back to the Future with Simpsons is pretty lame IMO.
THEremiXFACTOR yeah, a dark ride or a good stage show would be cool. I think they've still got that Beetlejuice Revue thing in Orlando, so you've got that!
Vexillum Vixen that would have made sense to make a horror movie museum because horror movie's put universal on the map I never been to universal Hollywood or Orlando but it looks fun.
Like the comments below Universal flushes it's history down the toilet. Universal wouldn't be such a big name if it wasn't for the classic movies that has made creatures such as The Wolf-Man and Dracula the popular icons of Halloween that they are today. It's sad that they want to bow down to making more money by having you buy more stuff then keep it's attractions. Sad Universal very sad indeed.
Universal has definetly lost a loyal fan after many years of going they took off a masterpiece of a maze to put a retail store or a restaraunt major let down universal SMH!!
I am so devastated that I ripped my family off of going into this maze because I was so scared to go in with them. It's my fault for my family not to go into this cool maze. I wish I was there that night. I think that it's cool that the guests were applauding the actors & the performers high fived & hugged the guests. Then when the last guest left the house, the entire cast made their final bow to the guests. Like the red light sign said RIP HOH.
Idk if most people will believe me on this but one trip I took to universal I went there three days in a row and on each day I went through the house of horrors at least 17 times in a row. I had vip tickets so I was aloud to go through it as many times as I wanted. I was 11 years old and I was obsessed with that attraction. Since I went through it so many times I knew exactly where everything jumped out and at exactly what to expect. Yet, every time I went I still had a blast... I even made inside jokes with the some of the characters such as every time I walked by wolf man I woofed like a dog and he would do It back because he knew who I was. And with the chainsaw man at the end I would say byyyyyeeeee! In a funny voice and he would do the same thing back. Just this year around September I heard it was closing but it kind of blew past my mind. Today, I was planning another trip for this summer and looking up information for the trip I found out that it had already closed. Wether they realize they made a stupid mistake and reopen it later or not, this attraction will stay in my heart forever :)
Hi its been 5 years and that sounds like a nice story. I do believe it because that how I am with the water world actors. I went to all of the showings in a day and they knew who I was by name and even said it in the show saying cj don't tell them where dry land is and sage fell to acid. The actors are so cool.
The last time I got to see the horror characters form Universal was a long long long time ago... I loved that attraction so much! I went through it 7 times every time we went... And I didn't even get to say goodbye. Goodbye Dracula, Chucky, Norman Bates, Goblin Dude, Frankenstein, Mummy, and Wolfman.
Thanks for posting this. I went through the HoH Maze at least 9, or so, times the last few days it was open. Even on Nov. 2nd, I went through the Maze before I had to leave. I was a little choked up, going through it when it was going to close to the public, before HHN. I wish HoH & The Blues Brothers' stage wasn't gone. I wish they could've just taken out the Photoland, maybe. Photoland is now located in the NY Street. Lol. I know they're expanding the Universal Studios Store to add a HP section, add a restaurant & I heard a Starbucks. Really, another bloody Starbucks? Now we'll have 2 Starbucks in the Park...unless, they change the lower lot's Starbucks to something else. We'll see. Ever since Comcast bought out USH, it changed so many things. :/ :P
Oh my gosh! Universal Studios is like known for all of its classic horror movies... First they got rid of Norman Bates coming at you with a knife on the tour, then the Psycho house on the tour is gone! NOW HOUSE OF HORROS IS GONE TOO!!!! OMGOSH!!! UNIVERSAL IS NOT THE SAME ANYMORE!
I remember going to this back in '05... my little bro INSISTED on going in there... he was only 7. I told him "no way in hell im going in there(im a huuuuge scaredy cat).. my parents made me go in there with him. He started crying when leather face popped out with his chainsaw. I literally told the actor if the can stop 3 times, they did! He took his mask off, and tried to comfort my little brother, who was already terrified by him. Lol. Out of no where this GORGEOUS "safety girl" came out, held my brother's hand and took us out the back way. Whew, what a moment that was. Lol
Yes, first they are closing it for halloween horror nights, they shut it down forever to make new restaurants and shops. It been almost 15 years that this building is been there.
My bad on the year it's been seven years of this maze. But all over this building it's been there for fifteen years. First it was chicken run, Van Helsing and they mummy walk through, lastly house of horrors in 2007-2014
So sad about this. My family and I went on Saturday and went through about three times. I can't fathom why they would take away such a beloved attraction.
I will miss this. I have only been thru it three times (twice as the House of Horrors and once when it was Van Helsing: Fortress Dracula). The last time I went thru it was December 16, 2012 (I remember the date because Terminator 2: 3D closed on New Years Eve that year). Shutting this down is seriously messed up. First they took out the Universal Monsters segment in the Special Effects Stage show for a segment on stop-motion animation, and now this for shops and restaurants that could have very easily replaced the former Coke Soak area (thank goodness that area is gone)? I would seriously never want to see anything that is real cutesy in that building (and while Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem is cute and fun, it is tame when compared to attractions like The Simpsons Ride, Transformers: The Ride, and even Terminator 2: 3D).
+MR TROLL No, where the House of Horrors used to be is now a Starbucks. Fucking Starbucks replaced the spectacular House of Horrors. Fuck you Starbucks.
I love this maze they can't take it off they should've token out shrek 4D that's not even fun it's just a dumb kid movie theather idk why they have to always get rid of the best one and not the boring ones it's not fair
Finally! They're getting rid of this FOREVER!!! I hated this walk through anyway!!! It would be better IF CHICKEN RUN MAZE would have brought back hopefully??
Dude. Please respect some of the people here, including me. I don't want to be bossy, but some people are probably bawling there eye's out (like me) and we would appreciate it if you did not hate on it. Thank you.

+Mickey784cr Then the Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue show closed down... :(
THEremiXFACTOR I agree and I love the old classic horror movies I wish I could go through it
Worst business decision, EVER
How?
Robert g what do u mean how ?
BobbyXD it was one of their best attractions
😭😭😭
That was the best attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood😩😍
Ill miss working there ;( it was fun whule it lasted.
They should have transformed it into a monster horror museum instead of tearing it down!
Vexillum Vixen that would have made sense to make a horror movie museum because horror movie's put universal on the map
I never been to universal Hollywood or Orlando but it looks fun.
Vexillum Vixen they replaced it with a walking dead attraction.
Well looks like I'm never going to universal studios again.

Universal... We're about movies but we constantly flush our history down the drain for films that won't be remembered for ages to come....
Man I miss these years. So simple, so fun
Yeah now it's all this overly complex 3d shit
So.. What dumb shit is gonna replace this masterpiece?
Shops and restaurants
michael Richards they need to CHILL TF OUT WITH SHOPS AND RESTAURANTS. They should've either kept it or make a great attraction
I wouldn't call cast members jumping out and dumb teenagers screaming a masterpiece.
They replaced it with the walking dead
I heard that they are making a restaurant there and I'm so pissed about that!
Alex L. Actually instead of a restaurant they made a walking dead attraction
13:22 Damn, Phantom of the Opera hook us up with special entrance...
Lol: camera guy everytime an actor came at him "Thank you"
5:01 I love they hug Chucky that’s cute
Thanks for including at the end a regular walkthrough, really cool.

Atleast it stayed for its final HHN.

It's not fair now what is hhn gonna use for other mazes
I was there that day. *sniff* *bawls uncontrollably*
Hope they regret that they shut this down😒😪🔫😡💩😔😒😭😩
It was funny how everyone was cheering on the actors instead of getting scared. Don’t tell me you did not see Frankenstein clapping lmao

I can't believe they closed this.
Who was it that said "get out" in the end
What's the last part of the video? A private walk through?
No it just another walk through you can go either both ways.
Wait they are shutting this down forever?
Yes, first they are closing it for halloween horror nights, they shut it down forever to make new restaurants and shops. It been almost 15 years that this building is been there.

I looked its for the mission impossible ride that being planned after harry potter and spiderman
Too small for a ride. But adding shops and restaurants by the being of next year.
I miss house of horrors PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!
That day was the first day of Universal's downfall :( They should have never tore this down!
no scary so funny :)
Im officialy dead😭
His name's imhotep
You mean count orlok
The Universal Horrors only built Universal and kept it going during the early years, but hey why do they need an attraction to honor that
So sad about this. My family and I went on Saturday and went through about three times. I can't fathom why they would take away such a beloved attraction.
Damn never got go in it :(
Wait the maze closed down forever
The worker guy at 2:58 with the moving statue kind of looks like Jamie Dornan. lmao!
They really need a year long maze at Orlando like the closest thing we have is that one section in the Kong line
I will miss this. I have only been thru it three times (twice as the House of Horrors and once when it was Van Helsing: Fortress Dracula). The last time I went thru it was December 16, 2012 (I remember the date because Terminator 2: 3D closed on New Years Eve that year).

This whole comment brings me nostalgia 😢
finally they got rid of the walktrough attraction that was scary as hell
Brandon Montes now you have to deal with walkers.

What?! No way! That's horrible :(
Amazing! Thank you very much! 🤗❤️
Is it going to be gone everywhere?!?!!
What year did it leave

What replaced this
+MR TROLL No, where the House of Horrors used to be is now a Starbucks. Fucking Starbucks replaced the spectacular House of Horrors. Fuck you Starbucks.
+Pixels Blocks and TNT XD
MR TROLL a walking dead attraction
Pixels Blocks and TNT actually they made it a walking dead attraction
What are they going to put there? This is upsetting... 😢
A restaurant... I wish I was kidding
Stephanie Parsons a walking dead attraction that has been already built
Austin Smith actually they made a walking dead attraction

Josue Name Today is the last day of Shrek 4D

You guys need to accept change
Universal is throwing away their history if you think about it
+PhoenixFeathers bruh you know they made the Walking Dead attraction to replace it right?
