- Here is why Skeppy, the once Legendary UA-camr, fell off and is the way he is now. (I miss the old skeppy)
I do wanna mention I still am a fan of Skeppy and still watch his content. But for me personally I noticed that some his newer videos were just a bit off and a lot of other people thought the same way, so i was like hey, why not make a vid on it.
I went over how Skeppy met Badboyhalo, how Skeppy and a6d met, a6d's drama, a6d exposing Skeppy for being fake,, Skeppy's Fiverr series and how it got exposed to be faked, and what that could mean for BadBoyHalo. I also mentioned Skeppy's new editing with InstaAE. Sorry if you disagree with the things said in the video but I just wanted people to know the truth.

Btw I should mention that I still enjoy watching some skeppy videos and the main point of this video was giving unknown stories a bit of a voice because no one really knows about all this stuff. So I just wanted to shine some light ya know

I don’t think bbh always knows what’s going on. It’s very likely he’s hiding his suspicions for content, but I don’t think skeppy is telling him all of his trolls
Bbh is an adult he obviously would be clued in on this if something scandalous or fake was occurring.
He doesnt tell bbh the trolls but the trolls have become more obvious and bbhs reactions have become less spontaneous and more acted. The easy fix would be to do trolls he does not expect and are not so obvious

I mean you can usually tell when videos are fake, and I still love his videos today. The main problem is that his newer videos seem to be attempted to be up to date when we just want the old Skeppy. But then again, Skeppy's grown up over time, and his preferences have probably changed. He can decide what content he wants to put up but we still love Skeppy no matter what. He's a great guy and he can have great messages at times.

we all miss the “old skeppy” man. his old content was top tier and genuinely hilarious. that silly editing style was literally what made him, HIM. he posted with that type of editing style for so long we all got used to it that when after he started posting the hyper edited videos it just didnt feel right. :(

I dont think Bad and Skeppys friendship is scripted strictly because they addmitted to knowing one and other beforehand but just didn't know eachother very well.

I still think Skeppy is one of the key reasons why MCYT came back as a whole. He brought bad boy halo to fame and bbh would bring the others (like dream, and all them) and bring a lot of popularity. I hope Skeppy finds his own type of content that is genuine and makes him happy! I remember watching his videos when he had less than 100k views per video and that era was truly my favorite.. the new commercial/trolling bbh videos are definitely off!

Skeppy already got the boost he needed, he had the subs, the audience, all he needs is content that is up to date, more mature and he also needs to stop faking videos

“I want the old Skeppy back.” That’s the problem. Skeppy definitely changed in the last four years. In 2018, he was only 18 years old. A lot changes from 18 to 22. Also, his audience changed. What worked with his audience in 2018 might not work anymore because his demographic is different. I’m not saying the changes are good, I’m just saying that the “old Skeppy” probably isn’t coming back. Even if his demographic goes back to the same as it was in 2018, he’ll never be 18 again. He’ll never be the same person he was in 2018. Skeppy will never be the exact same person he was four years ago, and his content will always reflect that.

Thanks for mentioning me here! Just wanted to clarify a few things. I actually haven't edited a Skeppy video since December 2021 due to me taking a break while I attend college and whatnot. Anything uploaded on any affiliate Skeppy channel; (Skep... etc,) since 2022 isn't edited by me, including the one video shown of George vs BBH, etc. With the exception of a few unreleased videos. I've been thinking about going back to the old 2018 editing for a long time and I plan on attempting that style when I return because I do agree, he grew his channel off of those crazy, random, explosive videos, as well as that type of editing style is so much more fun to work with. I love Zak, he's definitely one of the greatest bosses someone could have, and I want nothing but the best for him.

I just wanna say I’m a big fan of your work, like genuinely, you’re by far the best editor I’ve ever seen and I inspire to be that good at vfx work. Glad you kinda agree with how the old editing was a bit more how we al got to know him. If I can ask though why has Skeppy decided to change up the style so much?

Bro, I feel this exactly, back then, Skeppy was so genuine, I'm not saying he's still not genuine, but back then, you could see his real personality in each video. I miss how he used to edit, just pure chaos, less organized, that was what I like about Skeppy, how he just acted crazy, etc. I personally think it all happened a bit after the Minecraft Monday event, IDK but ever since Skeppy has blown up, I feel like he has grown out of touch with his viewers. For example, I still remember back then, on his second channel Skep, he live-streamed basically every day around night-time, and I remember tuning into every single one. I also remember his Baby-Skeppy channel. If you don't know, back then, the Skeppy's Lab channel was called Baby Skeppy where Skeppy just pretended to be a baby and acted childishly, he was just having fun messing around in those videos. But then, he deleted those videos, and now everything is like you said, a bit more scripted for his audience, and I can see he is a lot less motivated. For a while, he only uploaded like once a month, but now, I can see that he's starting up the grind again, I hope he just does what he likes, instead of forcing himself to act to his audience

Main reason is Skeppy's whole life is in order now. There is no more chaos, no more insanity. I feel like if Skeppy wants to continue, he needs to start making newer content, fresh stuff, perhaps a bit of DSMP. Skeppy's trolls are legendary, which makes it impossible for him to troll anyone. Once he hit 1 million, I suspected he immediately started faking some of them, sprinkling them in so people wouldn't notice. When people know you as the King of Trolls, you can't trick them, they know your every move.
And at this point, he has his own life outside of Minecraft, which really has distanced him from the Grind

I'm 18 now and have watched him for a while and though his new videos aren't really my thing, Skeppy makes me laugh either way. Haha. (I do enjoy him currently bringing back old video content now tho)

I met my best friends because of his content and honestly, his old videos were so hilarious I'd genuinely wheeze at them... haven't been in touch with the mcyt community in years (mostly because i was afraid of what it became) and just seeing this does break my heart. If your scared about what the MCYT community has became I suggest the gateway drug (I’m using the at because I can’t think of a better term) of HermitCraft, they are wholesome and Kid friendly. I mean they aren’t for everyone but, HermitCraft is full of hard working people whom pour days! Into a single video. According to Grian he spends an average of three days on a single vid, if that isn’t commitment idk what is.

As someone who found Skeppy from the start, I’m talking before 1K subscribers, someone who’s personally spoken to him, I will have to admit his content isn’t the same again anymore.
People grow and change obviously, but the swift change to more kid friendly scripted styled content took me out of his content
Badboyhalo (saintsofgames at the time) was someone I always enjoyed because of his ban appeals series, I found myself laughing at the dumb 13 year olds that cheat on minecraft servers and make an attempt to write a 3rd grade essay on why they deserve to be unbanned. I also knew about bad before he met Skeppy & can say I am not longer interested in his content either unfortunately.
They’re great people, just not entertaining anymore to me.

I’m forever thankful to Skeppy considering he got me into mcyt in the first place. I still enjoy his content. That said, his newer videos feel just a bit more uninspired than his old stuff (not even necessarily from 2018 and stuff, even as recent as 2020 to mid-2021) and I can’t help but feel he’s kinda lost his spark. I do hope it’s temporary and he finds his way back to the content that you can feel he’s really excited in, and until then ill be somewhat satisfied with the new stuff, but there’s definitely been a shift in the way his content feels, and it’s not necessarily for the better.
For ppl saying that he is drawing hate to skeppy, he is only expressing how he misses the old skeppy

The fact that badboyhalo would've definitely caught on to most of skeppy's trolls after so many of them is a very good point, it just seems unrealistic. We can't know if skeppy is doing this for his own good, or to entertain, or both, but I'll believe both.
Either way, this has happened with a lot of other youtubers. Sadly, youtubers just can't stay the same forever, or for long enough. We have to accept that. Thank you for showing us this video!
Badboyhalo is just like that though, many people (like Quackity for example) expressed how Bad was the exact same on and off camera. Maybe he exaggerated some reactions at some point, but I believe most were real. I've been watching both of them for a while now, especially Bad, and he was like that way before making content with Skeppy, he only changed a little bit (like he swears less, etc. now, even though he barely swore before now it's no swearing at all).
I don't believe someone could keep lying about their personality to all their friends for 10+ years (that's how much time Bad's known the dream team for example) and keep that consistency on and off camera (because he would also stay hours in his discord just chatting and he is still the same) so yeah I'm just saying, yeah people change, they grow up, but for the most part, they're still the same if you look closely, and Bad's reaction are still consistent to this day, Skeppy simply trolls him less.
Dude I totally agree. I used to love all of Skeppys old videos and absolutely watched every single one. After the fallout with A6D is where it started to dwindle for me until it has completely dropped off where I am just not interested. I will still go back and rewatch the old bangers and a little on his second channel but I haven't watched main channel videos in probably over a year now.
Good video, personally i still like skeppys vids but i see where you are coming from. I find myself watching A LOT of his older videos from 1-2 years ago instead of ones that come out recently.

I don't care if the videos were scripted, if both the old and new videos are scripted still we all prefer the old ones. I think the main difference is his target audience is now children and not us. Small children do give more views so props to him for his newfound success but I miss his old personality in his videos, now it's like there's two badboyhalos...
I don’t mind if skeppy fakes his videos tho I feel like there’s a part of me that doesn’t really like “video faking”, still I enjoy his content.
I feel like skeppy’s personality is just kind of faked in his newer videos, I liked when it seemed like he was making the videos on the spot and now even when he attempts to do his old style content, it’s just too professional.
I feel the same about Skeppy's latest content, coming from someone who's watched him since 2019. Above all else, I just hope he is doing okay and his mental health isn't being affected by the internet. The reason I started watching him in the first place (back in mid 2019) was because of his transparency.
It was obvious he took being a UA-camr lightly (even though he was determined to adopt it as a career since a young age) and wouldn't upload his videos with as much budget or effort as now (he was previously making his videos not really aimed towards the algorithm's expectations) which is totally likeable, at least to me.
What he wants to do with his content is of course his choice.
I can understand why he wants to do this sort of thing. He has given away so much money (just watch his challenges and him donating to BBH) and he probably wants to do more of that, except we don't see this series continue *perhaps* due to him having less money to give. This MIGHT be why he is trying to push his videos to higher quality to make them get into the algorithm, so he can maximise his income and continue donating. Take that with a grain of salt, I'm not Skeppy, you're not Skeppy, we don't know what's really going on. What we can do is to be supportive.
I really thought I just got too old for skeppy vids but then I re-watched his old stuff and realized that wasn't the case, Skeppy got me trough some rough times in my life and it is sad to see his channel go down hill... I have been mostly watching his second channel skep
I loved watching his videos a few years ago he felt so real and he sounded genuine but now he just seems like a robot kids channel with the super bright editing
His content used to be so wholesome and felt...real, I watched all of his videos ( the old ones ) it's pretty sad that we can't see anymore genuine videos ):
I actually really like this, it feels so much more like you actually experienced the downfall without just finding a different source about it and using that. It feels a lot more genuine than a lot of other commentary videos because you actually give your reaction to all of the events, hope your channel grows more in the future!

he used to be one of my favourite videos and i grew up a little bit and noticed that they were fake after a couple years
I really dislike the daily bedwars videos (especially the q&a ones), after a while they got boring. his best videos were the ones with zelkham/megapvp/a6d and it's a shame that drama caused 2 of those friendships to end but at least he played minecraft with a6d again, hopefully twitter lets them become friends again and doesn't prevent it by cancelling him and skeppy lol

I'm very sad now, I love skeppy but I started thinking that his badboyhalo vids were fake because bad never learns and now I saw this and I'm sad. This was a very good video though.
As one if Skeppys editors, and a long time Skeppy fan, I have some things to say about this video. First off, since 2018 before Skeppy and Bad videos, for example the "Scummiest Owner" series is all fake. I've known this for a while, and I have no problem with that. Another thing, is that I know for a fact InstaAE is not the reason for the hyper editing, that's a combination of different editors, not just insta, and Insta didn't even edit the one that Tommy reacted to. As for me, I don't do those edits, I rely more on the classic meme skeppy style. Also keep in mind, this is not me confirming that every BBH trolling video is fake, I just get sent clips and edit. Also for all the event videos, those are all real and there is actually money given out, I should know because I've won 3. That's just my thoughts
Skeppy’s old videos were literally so good i rewatched each video at most 5 times within a few months. Since I found him years later than his prime, It couldn’t be nostalgia for missing old Skeppy. His content is no longer relevant to his audience anymore.
Man, I miss skeppy's old content too. I was even one of the few people who bought his actual first merch, which is literally a piece of paper with his Minecraft skin LMAO. Because I felt like he was so damn underrated back then.
But now... his content just doesn't feel the same anymore even though he's so much grown in popularity.
I don't think scripted is the same as a scam. These accusations about he didn't pay for others who helped him about videos is I don't think true.

@@BoredMatt Yeah, the video may not be as good, but the fact that he scripts them removes a lot of the genuity of the video. I prefer to watch things that are real. Not some carbon-fake content. I don’t think that Skeppy’s old content was faked. It seemed a lot more genuine. That’s why I’m sad to hear this this is now the case.

@@desmondruhling a ton of videos across channels are faked i dont get that most people havent realized this. Theyre scripted so that the audience enjoys them. Some have a general outline to lead into some genuine fun and others are played out safe and they can have fun on the way, but a lot of them are scripted. You the viewer are generally there to either like it for what it is or to suspend belief like what is typically done. Hell if dreams videos werent scripted george would have a lot more going on than just color blindness

I haven't heard Skeppy for years. I used to enjoy his video a lotand I didn't know things went downhill for him. I checked his channel after finishing this video and man, he did changed.

The a6d voice clip wasn't posted by a6d, it was posted by someone who was claiming a6d had groomed her. Only after that did skeppy make a live saying he isn't friends with a6d anymore, and that it's not just about the a6d drama.
I agree, his old Minecraft trolling videos on his server were golden and very entertaining! But his new content is just.. good, in a bad way.
Yea ive noticed it to, but i still love to watch his vids but the old skeppy was the best. My fav vid is the one with techno in it. The escape a dungeon one. Still makes me crack up till this day
all my favorite youtubers all moved to supersonic editing making the content no different from others I agree that personality really shows the difference in content not editing so sad to see this change :(
I agree with you. I like Skeppy as a person but I have to admit there are times that I feel like his more recent videos are fake and sometimes even, and I mean this in the nicest way possible, clickbaitey. His videos and interactions with Bad doesn't feel genuine anymore. The only thing that sets him apart from other clickbait UA-camrs is that he's funnier and still feels more genuine and definitely more entertaining to watch and I feel he clickbaits in the nicest way, like the thing still happens in the video, but it's not like what the viewers expect. But yeah, I have to agree with Tommy, old Skeppy is an S tier UA-camr but new Skeppy is a D.
I don't hate Skeppy at all. I love his personality. I even made a League of Legends version of him. I just wish he didn't changed his content at all.
Also, about BadBoyHalo, he's my most favorite DSMP member and hunter. But when he's in Skeppy's videos, I think he purposefully makes himself dumber than he actually is. I think Bad is smart and a good Minecraft player. And yes, I have to admit that Bad can be dumb sometimes, like not knowing what a Visa is and that guava exists. But I truly believe Bad isn't that dumb and naive to always fall for Skeppy's troll. I think he's more genuine around Quackity and Tommyinnit, two people that always swear at him, that he is towards Skeppy.
Again, I really love both of them but they definitely have some flaws. Also, yeah, I don't watch BadBoyHalo's videos now because he barely posts any. I've watched a few of them and wish he posts more.

Damn, I used to watch his new videos after school in 5-6th grade all the time, I don’t it kinda just made my day better. Over the years I started watching sloppy less, his videos stopped getting recommended and he just became “that guy” whenever he was mentioned. The trolls got old and the last time I watched him was in 2020 just because I remembered him once. After I watched this video I went to his channel and saw that I was still subbed to him. There’s no big conclusion to this, if that’s what you were expecting, except that you can’t keep hype going unless something new or appealing pops out to your audience, especially if it’s something like silly Minecraft trolls.
There is only one problem. People say they want the old version of a UA-camr but then that UA-camr listens and it doesn’t get as many views.

honestly i completely agree, i started watching him at 50k, and idk ever since A6D and BBH it just seemed to go down. it was all fun at first, but you're right, it just seems like they were doing too much for profit. even with them joining dream and stuff, i feel like now it's really just money for them

You should've also included the Skeppy Events controversy in this video, as that heavily contributed to Skeppy's downfall, because he blew up like crazy during 2020 (mainly due to his "trapping kids" series). Due to the controversy, he had to stop making the 100 kids videos, which definitely caused a huge down for him.
I definitely agree with you, Skeppy's content in 2018 was pure gold, but right now, not so much. I still watch his 2nd channel content to this day, simply because I love BBH and Skeppy's dynamic, and even if they're scripted, they're still entertaining to a certain extent.

@@dimondoldchannel he had to install a queue system because so many people were participating in the events, but maintaining something so huge requires money. so he did something like 2b2t and created a priority queue. but, at times the priority queue would also have 100+ players so.
so people began to accuse him of scamming people, and that he's basically turned this into a gamble/lottery, when that was not his intention in the first place.
Old Skeppy was amazing. I used to watch him every day, and suddenly he just started making a different type of content. It wasn't as funny as it was before, it didn't *feel* like the original skeppy. I stopped watching him then, and unfortunately this happened to him. Skeppy, a6d, and bbh were an amazing trio.
I used to watch him 3-4 years ago but after a few years I was just bored with his content and it just didn’t feel the same, the style and all is just foreign to me
