No Imax is unacceptable. The movie was only shot in IMAX so no reason to not realese it, even Avengers 1 had full screen format.

Jim Cameron I don't have a tv, I have a 4k projector lol. The black bars ruin the experience and my movies play on a 4k 110' elune vision screen. We don't get the full image for infinity war because it's not in IMAX, don't see how you think that's fine.

That was... disappointing, I honestly cancelled my pre-order as soon as I hear there’s no IMAX format also the lack of Dolby Vision. I’ll stick to my streaming copy.
The Chris see I just buy the disc outright because the streaming code is in there but yeah I hate it too and I'm pretty sure they're going to release a phase 3 bundle with the IMAX versions on the 4K disc because they know that "suckers" 👉😑👈 will pay for it

Hey Shane, I am very glad to hear about atmos for the "moon throw"! There were a few shots where Thanos looked a bit weird up close and when he threw the collector into the glass cabinet, the motion blur was OTT it just looked unfinished IMO. The HDR is incredible though

Does a movie have to have an HDR tag on the box to have HDR or do all movies that say 4k UHD have HDR? Because I do all my shopping online and I want 4K HDR but a lot of the movies I look at, a lot of the times the newer ones that I’d expect to have hdr, would only say 4K UHD and say nothing about HDR in the specs, where as some have a picture of the case that has an HDR tag on the bottom left, so how would I know which movies I’m looking at display HDR?

So I just finished it saw your screening loved the sound and video quality but at the end right before end credit scene there's a dolby vision logo lol I feel robbed as someone who invested in a new lg tv and oppo 203 would have looked amazing saw jerassic world 2 and it looked so clean and ceiling were good too
I rewatched Infinity Wars last and noticed some inconsistencies on the 4K BR I didn't notice on Vudu. The Black levels were a bit light in certain space shots, not as bad as Star Wars, but not good. Some shots had too much artificial grain which obscured fine detail. Lastly there was a couple of shots that looked 720P. The shot in the beginning where Maul starts talking to Stark looked low res, it looked like it was shot on a Iphone 5. I checked to make sure I had the 4K disc installed. I don't know if this was the difference between Dolby. Vision and HDR but I thought the disc version looked worst. I know C6 OLED does brightens HDR a bit so I will watch Infinity Stones again on my Sony 900E tonight.
Yeah the Maw scene is one of the scenes that made me go from a 9.8 to a 9.4. Was easier to tell it was softer.
Looks fantastic in UHD, but sound is kind of lacking. Was there a notable difference between UHD and 4K blu ray to you? Thinking about getting the 4K blu ray.
Sound is a bit more open on the physical disc.
Best hdr mode for dark rooms and tv brightness?
For the DTS-MA 7.1 track I had to turn my denon from my normal -12.0 to -5.0 but the atmos track was fine at -12.0

Also, for those saying you’ll stick to your streaming copy, don’t forget that’s still not as good as blu ray 1080p quality and not to mention 4K quality...and you can’t match the loseless audio DTS HD MA on the blu ray and the Dolby Atmos/Dolby True HD on the 4K; you’ll only be getting Dolby Digital in your stream or digital download copy. Get the steelbook!

Some of those close up shots on Thanos,i couldn't even tell if it was cgi or not but i was just watching a 3gb rip cant wait to get the 4k.maybe when it drops in price abit.
Luke CG and high resolution does not usually mix well. Hope this not the case here.

I’m glad it looks and sounds good. However, I’m sitting out this one. I’ll buy the 1st and 2nd, but not Infinity War, as the original aspect ratio (IMAX) of the film is not on the disc. It’s troubling, as someone would have had to go out of their way to add in the letter boxing. If the disc is $10 around Christmas or an IMAX 16:9 ratio version is released, I might get it. Until then, my VUDU Dolby Vision version will work fine.
In the UK we don’t get a 4K disc until September 😩😩😩😩😩

I have it on VUDU and looks great on my One X and through my LG B7A OS App. I havent been a fan of how atmos sounds on my One X or WEB OS, its quieter and recommendations? so i stick to dolby digital bitstream. But looking forward to the disc since its not a bitstream but programmed.
My avr supports Dolby digital plus as well as standard pcm

Some people just don't understand black bars on a DVD movie.
If the movie was shot on a Widescreen format where the Screen stretchers right out at the Cinema you will get the black bars on your TV.
If you didn't you wouldn't see ALL of the movie meaning right,left, top and bottom.
If the Cinema Screen doesn't open right out like if I remember the first Avengers movie did then it will FILL UP your TV Screen.

I give this Blu Ray version *2 Finger Snaps & a Full Universal Extinction* grade. If it had the Imax version it would have been a perfect grade of 3 Finger snaps and a Revival comeback.

@@filthyneutral5801 DI means digital intermediate. It basically means the home release version. So the movie was recorded in a crazy high 6.5K resolution, but its home release (digital intermediate) was downgraded to a pathetic 2K.

Is the sound at least better deeper/louder than A2 Ultron? That movie had a very lacking feel of decent audio especially in the opening Hydra base raid.

Forager 1 Yeah man theres plenty of nice receivers out there. Definitely pick up a dolby atmos and dtx supporting receiver. I ended up getting the onkyo ht-s5800 home theater in a box bundle. Sound pretty amazing and its a great entry level set.
@@MrFlexvilla mine is a Yamaha rx 473. It does support 4k passthrough even though I have a 1080p 2012 vizio smart 3d tv and it supports Dolby digital plus, True hd dts he dts ma pcm 5.1 as well as dts neo and Dolby prolific 2

It’s true they did shoot the whole movie in IMAX, but they tricked us because the Arri Alexa camera used is not a true 70mm camera and therefore the black bars and not a full screen presentation. I would’ve loved a 1:78:1 image, that’s why Nolan’s movies look so good because he only uses true 70mm and that’s why it switches between widescreen and the IMAX scenes. Sad honestly how Justice League with it’s terrible CGI and not being shot in IMAX is still full screen/1:78:1 with only 5 superheroes in that movie and Infinity war with its amazing CGI and a lot more superheros is widescreen. Still, I think it’s definitely worth getting on blu ray and collecting the steelbook. It’s much better quality than digital download still video wise and most definitely audio wise

Upon looking at the Russian iTunes version of AIW, it looks to be one side/eye of a 3D copy when comparing it to a scope version of the film. So it is promising that it will.

I think the first avengers had better atmos. This one is still good though.
I set mine to Dolby digital 5.1 because it sounds much better lol.

coz rendering 4k takes a lot of time and money, it takes close to 6 months for the rendering firm to produce a 2 hour movie and frankly, only 1% of people know or care about this stuff.
For some stupid reason none of the marvel 4k blurays are available in the Netherlands...

I do not understand why Disney did not realise the imax version of the film on the disk as this film was shot entirely with imax cameras and they realise it 2:40 ration so your losing the top and bottom of the picture so you not really seeing how the film makers wanted to see there film just saying
Hopefully imax can make peace with Disney and reissue it that way with endgame
I already bought the digital streaming/download through the Microsoft store.
The quality of that purchase is the best I have ever experienced, rivaling that of many UHD blu ray disks.
I would normally buy this UHD disk, however, I'm very satisfied with the HDR and resolution of the digital streaming version.

You must have a different 4K disc to me, as I was very disappointed in this. The first time so far in all the 4K films I've bought, this is by far the worst 4K movie I have bought. I put the Bluray version on a few times to compare and I can't honestly tell the difference. The HDR is not noticable at all (Loki had shadows on his hair which had no detail in both versions) and the resolution jump is barely noticeable. The image just looked slightly cleaner with fewer artifacts. I could still see some steps between colours on the deep colour mode, which shouldn't happen. Were it not for my stats on my TV telling me that the content is 4K HDR, I would not have realized. But the worst thing about this disc is that it often buzzes like a car revving up outside my house. Never had that before. It does it in certain points of the movie and when I pause and play it. The Blu-ray version had no such issues. Perhaps I got a dud?

@@kascnef To answer that, I would need all of them to compare. I'm only in possession of about 5. I would say out of those, Thor Ragnarok, Blade Runner 2018 stand out. Deadpool 2 and Venom aren't bad, but Alien Covenant, Logan and Infinity War are not even noticeable over Bluray IMO and not worth the full price.
@@ArcanePath360 how about alien 40th i own the quadrilogy dvd from 2003 which has the director's cut and the theatrical cut.
@@kascnef I only have Covenant in 4K which is okay. Some special effects shots and external shots of the ship look great, but that's it. I have the quadrilogy and Prometheus on Bluray which is worth upgrading from DVD as they look great in HD, even the first one from the 70's.

Such, such a disappointment no IMAX scenes were included, like what is the point filming a movie with all these IMAX camera boast about it and then complete not include it for home release. It's like they force you to have to go to the movies to watch it.
Disney's being Uncle Scrooge with their Dumbo decision not to release the IMAX version and put in a Goofy Atmos mix.

Justice league 4k goes IMax and avengers 4k doesn't 🤔. Disney had plenty billions of our 💰 money.... BUT THEY CAN'T IMAX THE MOVIE 😕.
Justice League was not IMAX. It had full screen because they chose the aspect ratio to be that way. No matter which theater or home release format you saw it in it would’ve been full screen. Same with films like the first Avengers, Ant-Man, and The Terminator. Films that have IMAX scenes are typically widescreen until those moments come up, like Thor: Ragnarok and The Dark Knight and would only play widescreen in its entirety for other theaters. This film was widescreen everywhere except IMAX theaters so they chose the standard version for the home release because films tend to do that in their 4K counterparts. It’s just frustrating they don’t give you the option to choose either full screen or widescreen like they used to with some of the older DVDs

This movie is downgraded from 6.5K (recorded with IMAX cameras) to.... 2K (basically the same as 1080p). Words can't describe how disappointing that is.

Prem Kr Prashant yes makes literally no sense. My only explanation maybe is they plan on releasing a extended cut either before or after avengers 4. Maybe just wanted to save time and or money. Because they kind of released this kinda early on blu ray and digital in my opinion

There are some things, i dont understand. Why is Trump President? Why is a 4K Blu Ray Player so expensive? But over all stands the question, why we get in Germany a Dolby Digital 7.1 audio? I dont understand Disney, no Atmos, no Dolby True HD, i think its a shame.
