My friends and family up north of me were out of power for over a week at their houses and some were displaced because of the cold. I've always been preparedness minded and have followed you for over a decade, still it makes me look at my preps very hard and think about if that were to happen at our house. Thank you for the great content!

I had a customer who bought a Mango Power station a few months ago for "just in case", call me last week. Their power was out for a week at that time and he expected it to go for another week. He just called to thank me and tell me how awesome his Mango backup battery was working. He was running two furnaces and keeping his family cozy warm. I love it!

Another option for connecting a hardwired furnace to power station is the "EZ Generator Switch", a single circuit transfer switch. It's a bit pricy for what it is, but when installed it doesn't look like a dodgy DIY sketchfest. An option to consider if a full on multi-circuit transfer switch isn't in budge/scope.

Guess you're being shadow banned. I haven't seen any notifications for months and was thinking the other day that I need to come looking but I finally got notified of this one.

This idea sounds great for those who are choosing to live on The Grid, simply want a back up for whenever the grid goes down temporarily, however this would obviously not work for someone who is trying to actually live off of the grid, or someone preparing for the grid to go down long-term, that’s where your generators, solar panels etc. come in, but if you’re planning on living that way you probably need to make some sacrificial life choices anyway

Just get a manual pump for the well as a main back up

My well is 276' deep… is a manual pump an affordable option?

The main reason you can't run your well pump from a generator or power station is the starting amps which will be up to 5 times what the running amps are.

The initial power surge can be pretty big. The good news is, I have many customers running their well pumps with two Mango Power stations. Only one of them had to get a soft start. Once he installed that he called me and said the two Mangos ran his 300' deep 5hp pump with no problem.

Have you ever actually heard of a EMP shield stopping a lightning strike?
For the longest time I've been unclear whether they serve both purposes: they stop an EMP as well as a lightning strike?
For example, I have a Siemens FS140 whole house surge protector. Would I replace this with an EMP shield? I don't think putting them in series would work 🙂

I'm sorry, I forgot to mention that the lightening stike that my son had traveled past his well pump controller to his main circuit box where he has the EMP Shield installed. The EMP Shield stopped the lightening from going into his house and blowing out all of his appliances. Yes, the EMP Shield does stop lightening strikes and EMPs. $50 discount link: LDSPrepper.com/empshield

Yeah it’s called a wood stove and a generator. Wood stove allows you to cook and stay warm and the generator run once a day for a short period keeps you in hot showers, refrigeration, dish washing, recharging of phones, etc. one five gallon of gas will get you four or five days. Siphon gas out of your vehicles. Will get you a month

Lot of pumping from the well install rain catch barrels or 250 gallon food safe totes wherever you cwn catch free rain water incase of such no water well available.
    This is just my opinion.
    Opinions may vary.

It’s simple. Get a 45 KVA generator. Powers a second house also. Plenty of power and I can even charge my phone 😁😁. Good luck

Yeah! power stations have to be recharged somehow. its either by solar or generators! Granted you may be able to recharge the power station with a smaller sized gen set, but its going to take a long time. Solar, same thing. Unless you spend thousands for a large system and inverter. Then you don't need the power station. its all a viscous circle.
