That would be cool but you would also need a drive shaft to have that in the first place. I don’t know about scrap mechanic so much but it looks like it’s directly connected to the wheels.
Ok so two ideas: 1) using the same basic setup/idea create a modular engine. Rods/pipes each add more power so the more you stack the more torque you get, but more heat. Blowers/fans/filters each add heat reduction, again stacking just adds more. Plus any other parts do other things. 2) MM race using modular engines and drafting the parts like the junk draft. Using the modular engine to do an engine part draft, as well as having to draft a chassis, wheels, seats, and so on. Rules are no adding blocks, but you may remove/cut parts or weld them. When doing the draft don't just add them to the vehicle, Instead put them in the garage. Maybe grant a bit more time for making the creations look good and hooking them up.
can you do a race with a motor that gain speed during the course? Like at start the speed is [starting speed that I don't now] and it gain [number / seconds] but you can't reset the speed during the course. Or maybe you can reset your speed at a station like the gaz motor. That will be cool! And sorry for my english, I'm french :)
You should hook up sensors to the gauge and the fan so that when the fan is not destroyed it will go up at a slower rate, i imagine hooking the sensors up and when they are on it stops it from increasing the heat would be the way to go. Also, instead of making it explode you should just make it unusable, making you have to replace it instead of having it destroy your vehichle.
You should ahve put it into a hot rod. Plus this just reminds me of FF 7 where dominic Torreto races in a rat rod and he overheats the engine and it blows up. Only OGs remember

(also, the bigger levels of transmission would enact faster fan speed)

This is pretty cool! But I had this interesting idea. An engine that takes damage when you crash. And when It takes too much damage, it blows up. I needed an engine like that for one of builds, but I am terrible with logic blocks.
You could use the RPM and power setting to calculate the speed at witch thé temperature goes up and manualy count the number of "radiator piece" for the cooling speed . That would give more possibilities and maybe you could race with other having vehicules vastly different . And maybe let it cool at all time so if you have enought radiator you don't realy need to worry
Combine this with a fuel meter. Mabey also add a rev function? Holding throttle will rev up the engine, and the efficiency of the reving scales with the temperature.
i know i´m pretty late on commenting, but just out of curiosity: would it be possible to invert the spinup of the engine fan? because on a real car, the purpose of the fan is to keep the air flowing towards the radiator if you move too slow (because theres no wind hitting the radiator).
kAN id like to know how you'd make a clutch, im working on piston and thruster engines and id like to be able to idle, and that will take a clutch, i could make an on-off clutch, but id like something with friction more.

Maybe you could make a block that, when you press a switch legs pop out and it walks using individual switches you turn on each pair of legs individually so to turn left you only turn right side on and vice versa for right
A multi player Monday mad Max fight where everyone has an explosive engine and a basic car and there's modules around the map like guns thrusters or explosives and the winner is the last one driving
You have to add a cooling system that if broken will cause the engine to act like this. The coolant system could breakdown and you’d have to get out and reset it like your fixing it.
What are the mods for this engine due to the fact that 2 pores appear in steam and mods are also missing from the truck if someone can pass the lincks of the remaining mods Thank you
i feel like this would work better as a boost rather than a regular engine. It would make it so that you could drive normally and then boost for a few seconds and if you over heat it would slow you down and explode.
You should extend this concept to a manual/ stick shift. Once you reach a curtain temperature shift to a higher gear so you can go faster with a realistic aspect.
hey i had an idea the overheating could be a revomiter and you could add 4-6 gears depending on the engien plus if you wer in 6 gear and you shifted down to 1 it should max out the revomiter. sorry i could not send this soner but i hope you see this.

Adding coolant would just be too much effort and not worth it for its cons.

Fr0stySkull saw another one of his builds where he actually did a driveshaft but it was a piston you just create a differential to power the tires.
You should make a homing swarm missile (missile that breaks into many missiles near impact) and a self aiming mortar.
You should replace the explosive block with the flamethrower from the Modpack Beta mod.
That would be more realistic, then if the fire continues. .. boom!!

I think you should do a race with Scrapman with that. I think it would be a very interesting race, sense the engine explodes.

You can make a race, but you have to keep the flames on. If they go out you lose, If you explode you also lose. Would be a fun Multiplayer Monday
