Thank you all so very much for 1,000 subs. I am super glad i can entertain this many people while also doing what I love, which is driving cars. If you are interested in buying a manual car, I talk about my opinion on buying a manual at the end of the video, so stick around for that. If you are located in south Florida close to West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, etc. Let me know. I'd love to drive some cool cars for some videos.
Last year I bought my second car and wanted a manual, I didn’t know how to drive it but learned pretty quick on the 3 hour drive home lmao. I recently finished building my dsm that I also did a manual swap on but it still feels like yesterday that I was learning and obviously I’m not perfect at it but some advice I can give is don’t be afraid to give the car gas! That was probably the thing I struggled with the most. Hondas are pretty rev happy so don’t be scared to get up in the high rpms
C7Z06 former owner here. Your final test is to disable auto rev matching and do it yourself. As cool and useful as the feature is, downshifting with a perfectly placed rev match is one of the MOST satisfying things you will ever do in a stick.
Im 16 and my first ever car is a manual and I have absolutely zero regrets. (also Its a Hyundai which are usually easy to steal but most thieves dont know how to drive stick)
Break window, put in neutral, push away. Im sorry but manuals are easier to steal and you got lied to by boomers. Either way enjoy it! Just don't think you're safe lmao.
The fun thing about manual, is that there is always room for improvement no matter how experienced you are. Because the only ceiling there is, is the one you set for yourself. After only a year i can say i've become better drivers than my parents already because while they didnt have a real passion for driving, i wanted to really learn all the cool tricks a manual can do. Like rev matching and stuff like that. I'm even thinking about going to to the race track soon so i can feed my need for speed, instead of one day being a moron on the roads and wrecking my car. So yeah, just enjoy it, but be safe, always.
I love your words about that you've become a better driver than your parents. i also love that you said you're gonna go to the race track to fill your need for speed instead of being a moron on the road and actually wrecking your car!!! I really love your words I agree too tbh. When I drive let me tell you, I still haven't driven but I seriously have a need for speed and thank god here in my country we have race tracks ill be going there and racing and filling the hell outta my need for speed and yes, itll never get filled but at ill go to race tracks and fill it instead of being a moron on the road and probably get myself killed from speeding. I'll be extra extra careful when I drive, I'll not be a moron and speed the hell outta my car and wreck it. I'll be careful on myself and my car. Especially my life. I don't want to lose it from being a stupid little kid that just wants to speed. I'll be hella careful and not stupid.
Started learning manual as well. Paid for 6 hour lessons and got myself a 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe to work on as project and to learn more manual driving. It's been in my bucket list for long time to know how to drive a stick and i did it!
just bought my 6 speed manual ford mustang ecoboost LITERALLY yesterday. stall after stall, not as many as i thought i was going to have but still so many. i have been into cars for a while and my youtube consists of car videos modding and testing them out on tracks and racing all the good stuff so ive always kinda had a good understanding of how manual works. ive been driving my car these last two days and yes the comment with the driveway, me too bro, but ill figure it out soon enough. with no regrets getting this car was an amazing idea, my buddies love it, my family is on the edge about it lmao, but this is channel is so nice, knowing someone else just started driving a manual not too long ago as well. good luck continue the uploads and sick car man!!!
My first car was a manual and I HAD TO learn how to drive it otherwise I just couldn't get to work last summer, therefore in around a week I mastered it by going in small streets for around 30 / 45mins a day. Yep, this is me too. Bought a 6 speed Mustang a few weeks ago. I had only taken one for a test drive, fortunately without the salesman with me. I had watched a bunch of British driving instructors on UA-cam, but first time I tried it, I stalled 3 times leaving the parking lot. Then I took it to a big cemetery and practiced starting and stopping on the roads. They're great places to practice. Now I love my car. I've only had it a few weeks, but I don't regret it.
to be honest having somebody like your mom with you is the best thing, i had the same experience while being alone stalling few times until i got home, i actually thought of giving it back to the previous owner cause ain't know way i can handle traffic in hill. but the next day i talked to my friend and he got with me and whenever i stall he will calm down and give boost in confidence, it worked actually i owe him alot
As a 40 year old who grew up on manuals and driving them since 14 yo, it's awesome to see these young guns who still have enough balls in this automated world to learn how to drive a car with a real transmission that gives you real connection to the car.. it's a dieing art these days
7:07 Hey look it's my comment! So yes, I actually bought my manual Elantra N exactly one month ago. Funny enough, it seems like we bought our cars at the same time. Ive stalled here and there since then, especially since the clutch in the Elantra N is really numb. Overall, I've never had so much fun with a car though. After a month, a lot of the driving experience feels completely normal to me anyways now, and I don't struggle as much with hills or drive-thrus. You'll definitely be able to learn if you never got a manual car before. Yesterday I did stall twice though LOL. Sometimes it just happens, that's alright though. Edit: I wouldn't say the clutch it numb, more like it's different from the older clutches I'm more used to.
I bought my Honda Accord Euro manual a while ago without knowing how to drive a manual, and I'm not used to driving on the left side (learned to drive on the right side). I hated it at first, but now I love it. I'm glad I endured the suffering
people say that you shift late but that's not the issue, you cruise in too high of a an RPM. I guess you just do it for the sound but if you want mpg just make sure you cruise at low rpm, accelerating wont eat your fuel that much considering it's america and everything is a highway and you cruise most of the time. on 2:00 you can easily jump a gear and go from 2nd to 4th. same at 2:55, just jump a gear. 1:15 - 1:40 you can go into 3rd gear to get better mpg. it's nice that you are learning rev matching, most people don't do that.
I bought my 2000 Trans Am 6 months ago as my first car without knowing how to drive manual either, what a journey haha. Self and UA-cam taught everything.
@@DriveLifeOG Absolutely. Wish I couldve ever had someone in the car to tell me what to do like i assume your mom? is doing for you. Youve got a nice car man keep the passion alive.
I learnt to drive on an auto because that's all we had. Then one day, my mum brought home a manual company car. It was a small Honda that seated 7, and I was so excited, I gave out every reason to drive that car & learn as much as I can. I never had any problem starting in 1st or steep hills, but shifting & rev matching were pretty hard for me, so it was VERY rewarding to get a shift that didn't lurch the car. I was getting better and better, but before I was able to master it, her company car got upgraded to an Automatic. That was 3 years ago, I haven't driven a manual since :'(
I did the same thing. I bought my Kia Forte manual having no experience whatsoever besides watching UA-cam videos. Definitely the hardest part is getting moving, but it's been about 3 years now. I love it.
I learned to drive stick on a diesel van which was a bit of a mistake since my first car was a 1.5 liter gas. Less torque than a diesel engine where I got used to just letting go of the clutch as opposed to letting go of the clutch while simultaneously adding gas.
Just found the 1 week video and been watching a few, then watched this and you've greatly improved. One thing I still see you doing though which is detrimental to your fuel efficieny is your use of neutral. Whenever there is a red light I see you going into neutral then applying the brakes softly till you reach a stand still. What I'd suggest you'd do instead is. Say you're doing 35mph in 4th gear, there's a red light up ahead. Shift down to second and lift to the bite point on the clutch while you apply your brakes softly. This will increase the rate of which you brake because you're engine braking and braking with your pedal. This will both save your fuel because when you use the engine to brake the car does like 99.9 mpg whereas in neutral it's wayyyy worse, and you also save your brakes because you don't have to press them down as hard, basically it's just less tear. One last thing, try to avoid first gear as much as possible, preferably should only be engaged at a stand-still. If you have to use first, press the stick lightly into its slow and slow down as you try to get it in till it just does it naturally, never force it in, this can cause damage to your transmission.
I learned how to drive stick on my 2011 Camaro, been at it for a bit over a year now and I'm about as confident on it as I was driving an auto. Such a rewarding learning curve.
Ah yes, the nostalgia of stalling at a left turn intersection and having the cars behind you honk within a fraction of a second🥲 good ole stress/panic days🤣
I've been driving a manual for a little over 2 years now. It's a '17 WRX. I had minimal experience driving stick before I got it (minimal being I drove an old Ford Ranger around the block and spent 10 minutes in a c4 corvette in a parking lot). As painful as it was, I learned in stop and go traffic driving to and from work. It can be a pain in traffic, but when the road opens up, it is 100% worth it and definitely worth it. I have a feeling that I will regret it when I have to do the clutch, but until then, absolutely no regrets!
I just bought a manual 5th gen Camaro, never drove stick a day in my life, watched a million youtube how to videos, and took it off the dealership lot to go have it inspected by my fam mechanics shop bout 12 miles away, then brought it back, only stalled it 1 time at a red light ofc!! I was so proud of myself lol. (It needed a new clutch, but dealer is installing one for me and I pick the baby up in a few days!!)
I’m 16, I’m still learning to drive (in Europe we first can get a license at 18) but it’s just something we take as a normal thing here and almost everyone knows how to so it’s fun to see people learn it, although I learnt it during winter and a crap lot of ice so you don’t stall cuz instead the tiers slide a bit ect so I basically never stalled sich was nice for my confidence but at the same time it’s good to know and learn the hard ways. But your doing really good for 1 month, don’t stress it you learn more as you go on 😅 everyone has stalled in a highly trafficated intersection
German guy (and manual C4 owner) here. Loved the video! Over here it is mandatory to learn how to drive manual to get your license - your video brings back memories. We've all been there, it takes some time, but it gets natural pretty quick. Driving an automatic (mostly rental cars) is weird for me and i get the feeling of not being in control at all. Your 10mpg seem reasonable for your driving style to be honest.. ;) Shifting early and not flooring it will give way better results. With a manual, YOU are responsible for your fuel economy.
I just got a 2004 civic 2 door LX its amazing, was owned by mechanics and has a new clutch, aftermarket speakers, and a bunch of new parts. 148k miles. It's also a manual and I've never really driven manual, however I'm getting the hang of it really quickly and its LOADS of fun, I loved driving before, and even more now.
Learning to drive on my dad's baguette van, i live in a civilized country so manual is the norn over here, money shifted from 5th to 2nd once, pistons almost got sent to orbit but its so fun driving a manual
I learned how to drive manual about two months ago. My dream car has always been a Mazda Miata NA. I bought it for 4k from a guy in Nebraska. I stalled many times and was scared shitless when learning how to drive it. Nothing like putting yourself on the road while learning. Anyways congratulations on the car and have a good day to all.
Picked up my first manual car about 3 months ago, 6spd 2011 335i. Day 2 just like you I stalled twice at an intersection in after work traffic. I’m confident enough to say that I’m comfortable driving everyday no problems even in traffic💪🏽
Been watching all of these and love them, a corvette is my dream car and am hoping to get one next year. This motivates me to pick up those extra shifts at work for more money, I also have never used a manual but this is making me want to get a manual vette and learn, thank you
Hey bro, glad you enjoy the videos. Best of luck with your car, i just wanna say only get it if you can afford it and don't have any expenses that can come up go for it! You just dont wanna screw yourself financially over a car. Best to you
@@DriveLifeOG Yeah thats true, I plan to get a c5/c6 and will pay cash. My grandpa is a mechanic and I plan to buy a slightly damaged one at auction. I will make sure if it's manual to not steer away.
0:47 42mph in 2nd gear is crazy. Although to be fair the only manual we have in my household is a 2002 crv and its gear really low. Out of first at 7mph, and hitting 3k rpm at 65 in 5th.
When I got my WRX it took me about a week to get comfortable with it, a few months to feel Like I mastered it. It's all seat time, everyone benefits if they can set aside some time going out for a drive. Keep at it and you'll start heel toeing sooner than you think.
I remember being 12 when I first tried driving a manual car,it was in my village house's backyard and my dad teaching me to drive on a suzuki Wagon R+,which then wasn't really much of a driving, since I was just letting go slowly of the clutch and eventually stopping, because after all the backyard isn't that big.I then started seeing videos of racing drivers doing some fast shifting and I remember how much I wanted to learn to shift fast between gears,as well as to learn the heel-toe downshift technique, which I found quite hard to perform in driving, even tho 5 years later I'm now able to do it.I'm turning 17 this year and I'm on my way to get a driver's license and fulfil a dream of mine to drive a car on the roads (sounds pathetic, but I'm just in love with cars and I can't help it) and to end it with a little tip, which would be to tap the gas pedal when downshifting, which is called rev matching. It's a technique which enables the engine RPM's to match with the RPM's of the gearbox and it makes it a lot more smoother. On most modern vehicles there's a feature that enables it,but for the ones that don't have it,I hope it helped getting better and smoother in driving
Last week I bought my first manual car ever, a 2022 mustang GT. Having never driven a manual before, I took a complete gamble buying it not knowing if i'd actually like driving a manual car or not. First couple days were of course pretty rough, and I remember at the end of the 2nd day I was starting to get buyers remorse and kept thinking that I would've been much better off with an auto. I was terrified to get back in the car and drive without the person who was teaching me with me but on day 3 I said to myself fuck it and hopped in by myself and drove around my block a few times. Idk what happened but in that moment something just clicked and I started getting better and better. I'm still stalling occasionally but i'm having a ton of fun with the car and learning and all buyers remorse has flown out the window. Even with the stalls it went from being a terrifying moment to a "oh whoops!" and calmly start up again and go moment.
I got my first manual car at the beginning of the summer season and it’s so hard to go back to driving autos lmao, glad we are both working to save the manuals 😂
Sick! I’ve only driven my buddies stick cars a handful of times but never had my own. decided to jump out of my comfort zone and found a pretty cheap T56 6 speed manual for the 77 Camaro I’m restoring, super pumped to get it running but I’ve got a lot of work to do
Sick bro! I passed my test on manual but never in my 3 years had driven one, You gave me motivation to start driving it "again" I driven only automatic, and currently that car is broken asf and I have only manual E36 at home which I never drove
Hey bro, youtube recomends me your channel and I realy like it. Here on Brazil we only learn how to drive manuals, we cant use automatic cars on driving school. My tip to you is to release the accelerator when you shift, this way the car will be more reactive
6:10 Bro, you have another speedometer on the left hahaha, cover both next time! Likewise, your process is very good, how beautiful it is to learn with that car, greetings!
Your doing great buddy, don't get discouraged, when taking off from a start an you want to go slow, only use your clutch no gas,it has enough torque to start with no gas, just let clutch out very slow!
my first manual was and is my current car , which is an ss cobalt , i recommend manual for the first month you probably will regret it but after that you’ll love it , its way different and super fun , until it comes to stop and go traffic
Find the friction point and you're good. I learned on a 1990 be golf. Clutch was going, and from then it was easy. Have you engaged the clutch yet on a hill?
hey bro, been driving stick for awhile now, I reccomend to not downshift rev match into first gear as its a very small gear, it also affects the syncro in your trans and can down the line make it hard to put the car into first gear at a stop. I would personally downshift to second gear and then just take it out of gear coming to a stop!! this is just my experience, everyone has their own ways. Love the car enjoy!
I'm also learning currently how to drive a manual, started a week ago. The hardest part as predicted is learning how to get going smoothly from a complete stop without stalling out or any jerky movements. It all feels really unnatural having to use two pedals
To achieve 20MPG+, shift sooner. You ring out the engine during normal commute as of you're about to race. Just relax. Try shifting around between 2.5-3.5KRPMs and watch how your MPGs increase. Generally though, keep it under 3K. 🤌🏾 Save the spirited driving for the empty backroads, not in the city/highway. And ya'll wonder why you see so many older people cruising in these high powered cars. It's because they've learned how to properly drive these cars over the years.
Boca boys 🔥🔥 Ayeeee da homie lets go bra automatic sub! Keep goin! It was iffy my first time learnin stick, learning the clutches 🤣 first time in the street too? Bro LMFAOOOOO crying. You gonna be a pro very soon, it aint even hard fr! I know that road too lol!
I use to have a 1989 ford ranger. It was a hard truck to drive since it was manual but I don't regret learning. If I ever have a Manual car it will come in handy with the info. I'm also turning 15 so it does seem illegal but It was on a private road.
My driving instructor told me to go into second gear when braking aswell as braking and slowly come up in the clutch, this slows down the car with the engine instead of the brakes. Making them last longer!
Definitely rev match prior to taking your foot off the clutch though. If you only let off the clutch slowly, the rpms go up, but that wears out the clutch more (clutch braking vs. rev matched engine braking).
You’ve gotten so much better since the first week video I’m glad it’s going great im 16 turning 17 soon and want to get a manual C6 so im just wondering what u do for work that made u able to buy a corvette
hey man, thank you. I make youtube videos. I have two gaming channels and just starting out this car channel. Lots of things you can do online, best thing I can tell you (since im of similar age) is to do stuff while you're living rent free. You don't have expenses, you have lots of free time, outside of school. You have all that you need to make money nowaways which is a laptop/pc/phone and a wifi connection. I can't tell you the formula for making money, but i can tell you, it's easier than you think. The hardest part about doing anything is starting, so start doing something. Doesn't matter what, as long as it brings you closer to your goals, in this case a c6, start working on it. Good luck homie
Please tell me you've have the clutch changed since when you first bought it and stalled so much 😭😂 but I subbed, been wanting to get a c6 vette but hard to find some in good condition and not so freakin overpriced.
Nice job man! I always wanted to drive a manual but worry it'll be cumbersome in traffic, especially living in a Miami 🫤. Any tips for stop and go traffic?
i dont get miami level traffic as im 1 hour north of miami, but ive driven bumper to bumper on the highway. it's not bad. just annoying. you do pay attention to the road more with manual, but me personally if i had to go through that every day idk if i'd be looking at manuals. i should point out that i went on this bumper to bumper traffic after like a week of driving manual so it's nothing crazy difficult.
@DriveLifeOG Thanks for the words of wisdom! And no way! Didn't know you lived in FL 🤯 if you ever see a Acura Integra stalled out, it might be me! Lmao I'm thinking of getting one
as you get more use to how to actually drive the care from a daily standpoint compared to a joy ride you will notice a big difference on the MPG. the daily drivers are the ones getting 20+mpg your 13 is closer to a joy rider and all of it is the Rpm that your using as you shift through the gears. I.E baby it more for smoother shifting will increase your MPG. rev up for the acceleration = smiles per miles (lower MPG) you'll get the hang of it as you spend the money on the gas.... its a lesson we all learn from driving stick
you know what, i gave it a try earlier today. I felt the same excitement trying to rev match as when i was learning the basics of manual. this will be fun
If you're wondering how you can get 20MPG it might be possible, but it's probably closer to 18. If you shift earlier (around 2000rpm) and always stay around there you can probably get around 18, but there's no fun in that :P
Thank you all so very much for 1,000 subs. I am super glad i can entertain this many people while also doing what I love, which is driving cars. i just bought a 9th gen civic si a week ago and didn’t know how to drive manual and i am still learning. but i absolutely love this si

Yeah I started learning that recently
My evo x doesn’t have auto rev match so I have to do it on my own…😭
@@MudukTV you dont really have to rev match it's more of an enthusiast thing
How much did u sell it for and why did u no longer want it?

Learned how to drive stick in my first car, a 1997 Honda Prelude. You learned pretty quick and in a quick car, so props to you.
people say that you shift late but that's not the issue, you cruise in too high of a an RPM. 1:15 - 1:40 you can go into 3rd gear to get better mpg.
it's nice that you are learning rev matching, most people don't do that.
well done man, nice to see people still enjoying manuals.
I bought my 2000 Trans Am 6 months ago as my first car without knowing how to drive manual either, what a journey haha. Self and UA-cam taught everything.
we're in similar shoes here :)
I love it.
so crazy i just noticed you're driving exactly where i grew up. Great video man
thank you
I learned to drive stick on a diesel van which was a bit of a mistake since my first car was a 1.5 liter gas. Less torque than a diesel engine where I got used to just letting go of the clutch as opposed to letting go of the clutch while simultaneously adding gas.
dam this is nice bro im glad u learned i remember learning in mexico at 14 and it was awsome glad u enjoyed driving manual
thanks dude, best to learn early lol
I have a feeling that I will regret it when I have to do the clutch, but until then, absolutely no regrets!
your growing really quick and thats so cool im proud of you congrats on 1k
ty bro
I just bought a manual 5th gen Camaro, never drove stick a day in my life, watched a million youtube how to videos, and took it off the dealership lot to go have it inspected by my fam mechanics shop bout 12 miles away, then brought it back, only stalled it 1 time at a red light ofc!! I was so proud of myself lol. (It needed a new clutch, but dealer is installing one for me and I pick the baby up in a few days!!)
good luck man, youll get the hang of it in a few days !
With a manual, YOU are responsible for your fuel economy.
thanks dude, glad you enjoyed the vid
I just got a 2004 civic 2 door LX its amazing, was owned by mechanics and has a new clutch, aftermarket speakers, and a bunch of new parts. 148k miles. It's also a manual and I've never really driven manual, however I'm getting the hang of it really quickly and its LOADS of fun, I loved driving before, and even more now.
You’re growing so quick bro. The progress you’ve been making has been sick to watch congratulations and keep working hard!
really enjoying seeing you making progress with a manual car!
More to come!
finally some1 who when learning doesnt just cut out everything that goes wrong
Congratulations on 1k subs you deserve every one of them
Appreciate it homie
Learning to drive on my dad's baguette van, i live in a civilized country so manual is the norn over here, money shifted from 5th to 2nd once, pistons almost got sent to orbit but its so fun driving a manual
just watched and liked all ur vids love ur car and ur progress is amazing good luck in life my brotha❤
Yet another hit! So great bro
thanks dude
I learned how to drive manual about two months ago. My dream car has always been a Mazda Miata NA. I bought it for 4k from a guy in Nebraska. I stalled many times and was scared shitless when learning how to drive it. Nothing like putting yourself on the road while learning. Anyways congratulations on the car and have a good day to all.
thanks dude you aswell. congrats on the car
Picked up my first manual car about 3 months ago, 6spd 2011 335i. Day 2 just like you I stalled twice at an intersection in after work traffic. I’m confident enough to say that I’m comfortable driving everyday no problems even in traffic💪🏽
same!
I will make sure if it's manual to not steer away.
lmao I JUST watched your first manual video. I go back to the homepage and see this haha. Nice content tho u earned a sub!
Thanks for the sub!
Put a short shifter in the vette it makes a big difference. Makes it so much easier to shift faster and cleaner.
Since I found your channel it has inspired me to finally do what I’ve always wanted to do. My next car is going to be a manual.
good for u bro. good luck!
good stuff bro, i’m for sure getting a manual when i get my c7. can’t wait to bang thru them gears 🤜🏾
much more entertaining than an auto. auto c7 transmissions suck anyway
Keep at it and you'll start heel toeing sooner than you think.
you've improved a lot since you first started!
LMAOOOOO "getting air blow up you a-" perfect cut that actually made me laugh 😭😭
On most modern vehicles there's a feature that enables it,but for the ones that don't have it,I hope it helped getting better and smoother in driving
fire video as always cant wait for the next one (Two month Learning Manual Video next?)
For sure. Next good vid will be heel toeing
Haha yeah auto is just so boring. Maybe if I try a gt3rs with that pdk I will be reverted but for now it’s manual
Sick! I’ve only driven my buddies stick cars a handful of times but never had my own. decided to jump out of my comfort zone and found a pretty cheap T56 6 speed manual for the 77 Camaro I’m restoring, super pumped to get it running but I’ve got a lot of work to do
1:39 the stress you felt there i can relate to so hard
Sick bro! I passed my test on manual but never in my 3 years had driven one, You gave me motivation to start driving it "again" I driven only automatic, and currently that car is broken asf and I have only manual E36 at home which I never drove
7:28 Was probably telling the Mercedes behind him to back up since he was close
Bought my first manual car, still in my first week of driving. Lots of hills where I am so it's been rough, but hopefully I'll hit my stride soon
Hey bro, youtube recomends me your channel and I realy like it. Here on Brazil we only learn how to drive manuals, we cant use automatic cars on driving school. My tip to you is to release the accelerator when you shift, this way the car will be more reactive
Congrats u still have a long way❤ rev matching pulls clutch kicking hill starts will be your food
i just bought a 19 civic and im still learning. just getting off 1st gear is the thing i need help with but other than that , its fun to drive.
Have you engaged the clutch yet on a hill?
i’m thinking about buying a manual corvette but it’s a c6. it’s kinda terrifying but idk it seems fun
3rd month gotta go drifting
This is awesome to see I learned how to drive Manuel on a rocket bunny s15 got a lot of hate for it keep it up man🤙🏻🤙🏻
Hey one thing you can also rev while driving just put you left foot on the clutch and right foot on the gas pedal and enjoy the v8
Broo i died when i saw the "40..41...42" edited on your dash
4:15 "the grip is amazing and all my shit just went flying" 💀💀💀
Finally someone that can relate to my exact experience I got a 2003 corvette and I went thru the same thing
I’m still not that good
you'll get better
hey bro, been driving stick for awhile now, I reccomend to not downshift rev match into first gear as its a very small gear, it also affects the syncro in your trans and can down the line make it hard to put the car into first gear at a stop. I would personally downshift to second gear and then just take it out of gear coming to a stop!!
this is just my experience, everyone has their own ways. Love the car enjoy!
460hp for your first manual car is interesting for sure. A month ago I bought me a 91 foxbody for mine
Save the spirited driving for the empty backroads, not in the city/highway.
I know that road too lol!
ii got a 1998 bmw 323is and its a 5 speed i fucking love it.
glad u do
I use to have a 1989 ford ranger. It was a hard truck to drive since it was manual but I don't regret learning. If I ever have a Manual car it will come in handy with the info. I'm also turning 15 so it does seem illegal but It was on a private road.
You caught on pretty fast! Congrats on the car :)
tysm
My driving instructor told me to go into second gear when braking aswell as braking and slowly come up in the clutch, this slows down the car with the engine instead of the brakes. Making them last longer!
Definitely rev match prior to taking your foot off the clutch though. If you only let off the clutch slowly, the rpms go up, but that wears out the clutch more (clutch braking vs. rev matched engine braking).
@@God0fPie oh! Good to know!
Sheeesh that thing sounds so good. But dude, getting your RPM that high gotta be why you gettin like 13 mpg.
1:04 transition go crazyy
unintentional
I Picked up my MK7 Golf R about a year ago without knowing how to drive manual, now I never want to go back.
those shifts at 3:32
You’ve gotten so much better since the first week video I’m glad it’s going great im 16 turning 17 soon and want to get a manual C6 so im just wondering what u do for work that made u able to buy a corvette
hey man, thank you.
@@DriveLifeOG what is your gaming channel?
@@dwade3 haha, lets hope not. i wouldn't leave the lot until you've confident with launching in first gear at least. Good luck with your car!
as you get more use to how to actually drive the care from a daily standpoint compared to a joy ride you will notice a big difference on the MPG. the daily drivers are the ones getting 20+mpg your 13 is closer to a joy rider and all of it is the Rpm that your using as you shift through the gears. I.E baby it more for smoother shifting will increase your MPG. rev up for the acceleration = smiles per miles (lower MPG) you'll get the hang of it as you spend the money on the gas.... its a lesson we all learn from driving stick
try learning to rev match urself its super cool when u do it urself dont use the rev match feature it helps u understand the rpms more
you know what, i gave it a try earlier today. I felt the same excitement trying to rev match as when i was learning the basics of manual. this will be fun
Just an advice, you don't need to rev it that much on 1st gear if it's for fun then go ahead, but if it's fear of stalling it won't.
If you're wondering how you can get 20MPG it might be possible, but it's probably closer to 18. If you shift earlier (around 2000rpm) and always stay around there you can probably get around 18, but there's no fun in that :P
