I love the tip about using lipstick as blusher - I've been doing this since your lipstick video and it works amazingly well! It always ties the look together really well and just looks effortless.
@emmakins89 a less blue pink would help to stop the' barbie' feel you are worried about. Mac Impassioned could be great as it would tone in more with you yellow undertones x
That quick pat of lipstick onto your cheeks for blush is GENIUS! Perfect, perfect way to finish off the look. Lisa you are AMAZING! I am so glad you are doing videos. Those little tricks set you apart. Keep up the great work.
Love love love bright lips! They're my favourite to wear! Mac Rebel is also one of my favourite colours, although I prefer pinks and corals in the summer!
This looks so lovely - and modern! I love the trick at the end at how patting your lips and applying it as a blush really completes it. Thanks so much!x
@taytanaka As you are fair to med, I think the pearl will still be good for you as its so transparent anyway and doesn't leave any colour once blended. it will give your skin a lovely lift. x
@amyliaaa I really love the Bourjois foundations. If you have combination skin you will probably prefer the original Healthy Mix one as the finish is more velvety/matte. The Healthy Mix serum is also lovely but the finish is more dewy so you would need powder on your t-zone. I use the Serum one in the winter and the original in summer X
You are the Mary Quant of the New Millenium! You're such a color & style genius! I wear very bright shades-- the shades you showed us. W/ your tips, I can enhance my look. Thank you Lisa!
I love bright lip color and I do this all the time! I love the tip to grab a bit of the lip color and put it on the cheek. Amazing. You do such an amazing job creating fresh makeup looks. I like that you let your skin show through and you don't create the masked look. Keep the videos coming!
@GardenStateLove I wouldn't worry too much about that. If your teeth are very yellow just avoid the yellow based orange shades. All the poppy pinks and bluer shades will help x
@plushtea I know David Jones, that sounds like a great shade. Yes it is amazing how certain colours can really bring your colouring and face to life! x
@jaynem89 you could buy a matching lip pencil and cheat a little. Really buff the pencil into the lipstick as well so the extra 'help' is concealed and then soften the whole effect by dabbing round the edge. I cheated my bottom lip bigger with the colour in this video. Even a fraction helps. It takes practice but it can work perfectly. Also you could try a sheer bright to start you off x
@blueberrygirl1989 light to medium depending on how you build it. Evens out well and covers all minor flaws. The finish is very natural...not too dewy and not too velvet. x
@amyliaaa its an organic and silicone free foundation so it takes a lot more blending than the other two. I like it but many dont because of that reason. I suggest you try it out x
i love bourjois healthy mix, it was my first 'cheap' foundation i bought after being used to the christian dior ones, i used it a few times in the summer and it feels so lovely
Beautiful! I agree with the warm/cool together--if I don't mix them I feel like an "Ice Princess or a Heat Miser"!! Love the lipstick on the cheeks suggestion--perfect! If you have a moment--I would love your ideas on a good bright for my coloring~I have the Mac Show Orchid--and I also have the Lancome Chris & Tell--which type of color do you think best suits me? IF you have time! Thanks! xoxo Lisa
@stellie18 bases tend to alter the colour. This new generation of brights is so pigmented that it should cover the pigmentation anyway. The colour pay off in all of these colours is 100% so you should be fine re that. I think the Strawberry suede is good for you as it has a rich coral base in daylight which will counteract your blue/reds.
lisa-i ran out today and bought revlon matte lipsticks in strawberry suede and pink about it-a bright watermelon! these are sooo nice, lightweight and not too drying. thanks for the recommendations! i love how you use a range of products with different price points.
You look very glam. My mom used to do her makeup like this in the 'fifties: beige foundation on eyelids, under eyes, dark brown eye liner, eyelash curler, Maybelline cake mascara, Revlon Persian Melon lipstick with a touch from her lips patted on her cheeks for colour, then powder. Today's makeup finishes are much dewier than the matte ones available in her day, but the concept was pretty similar. Nice to see a classic look updated.
@90Aoife you can wear these colours but you have to be clever with the concealing first to reduce the redness. First apply a sheer foundation and then use concealer to take away the redness which is in the 'wrong' places (low down on the cheek/jawline, around the eyes). Apply a light mineral powder too to further reduce. This way the focus will be on your lips and eyes will not be drawn to your redness. This is so hard to explain here - I will make a vid one day instead x
I know I'm not the first to say it but that tip to add just a hint of the colour to your cheeks is genius, it really brought the look together. Will definitely be putting that into practice!
Thanks Lisa! Please continue your tutorials, they're so helpful. I am close to 40 and would like to ask if you could perhaps give some makeup tips for achieving a more youthful appearance. I am close to 40 and could really use an update! Thanks again!
Love this video! Really Great tips! I have quite neutral coloured skin, but blue based reds suit me better, and find the reds make me look more even toned and tanned. Amazing how a lippie can do that! I also like a similar colour to that Mac Impassioned, its by a department store here in Australia called David Jones. There makeup is great and I always get complimented on it.
I'm into bright lips now - perfect! thanks so much for another cool video Lisa! :) PS - that patting/dabbing lips-to-cheeks application is the cutest/coolest thing!
@amjowaheer1 you could try Girl About Town by Mac its still a bright pink but its richer and has a deeper redder base than the one I'm wearing in this vid x
Hi Lisa! I love your videos and am learning so much from them. I am going to be a bridesmaid next month and would love to see a video tutorial on a look appropriate for that. I will be wearing a deep red dress with a black sash and am looking for color schemes to co-ordinate with my dress. Thanks a ton!
Thanks so much Lisa ! I'm a big fan of bright lipsticks ! My all time fave is Show Orchid, I love it :)) This tutorial gave some good tips on how to use in a more modern way ! Thanks :))
Thanks Lisa for the tutorial! Could you give some helpful makeup tips on achieving a youthful appearance. I am close to 40 and have noticed that my makeup could use a little change. Thank you so much for such great tutorials. You're awsome!
I love this look and you are beautiful as usual. I'm sad cause I have not won your huge giveaway but today I saw the pictures of your works on your blog and I was really amazed: you are incredibly good! ...but you already know. I really wanted to congratulate you for your work. ciao
ciao lisa, just rediscovered some of your older videos, and it is incredible how perfect they are for this season - I guess this is what great artists do: they get there first! Amazing, really! p.s. hope you liked Bologna? baci! x
Wow that looks amazing Lisa. Good thing about Barry M is that its so inexpensive, that I wouldn't feel awful if I didn't wear it all the time! Maybe I'll try a vibrant lip colour now Thank you x.
Its great that You show how to not putting too much but still looking just great. Of course you are professional but still its amazing that you share your knowledge with others:)!!!! You are very pretty woman and one of the best bestt artist, your advices are so brilliant that I use it everyday! thank You so much:)!
Hey Lisa. Brilliant video as usual! Was just wondering if you could suggest any bright lip colours that would work on a pale red head with pink undertones as I usually find that pinks and oranges can 'clash' with my hair and the redness in my cheeks. Thanks.
Oh I just got sent a Barry M lipstick and they are so FAB! Really creamy and wonderful. I get so excited when one of your vids pops up;-) It really is learning from the best!. xo
and... AGAIN, another of your videos goes directly to my favorites! Thanks for sharing, the tip of the contrast between eyeshadow and lipstick is genial, I'll for sure try that :) I Love bright lip colours, especially now... in Copenhagen we have still max 6° and it's grey :( Your blouse is lovely and you look uber gorgeous!
Hi Lisa, great video, when I was teen-age I always wear pink lipstick but after 25 I get to brown and soft colour but now this year lots video in youtube going on saying pink lip colour or blush is good for summer, I full in love with pink and peach color again, pink is ok but I am abit dark so peach dosn't look good I bought 1 peach color from NARZ hope it work. thanks for nice video. xx
Hi, Lisa! I love the class of your videos! The bourjois foundations seem quite interesting and since I have started watching your videos I am really tempted to go buy one ang try it hoping for a light healthy, easy to apply every day make up routine for work. I have normal skin with with just a hint of oily t zone. Which one would you recommend I try? Or if you have an alternative by another brand I am open to suggestions. I hope you see this and reply...thanks for your great videos :)
I bought Macs "all fired up" which is very beautiful but also very bold. I was wanting to wear it for Valentines day but wasn't sure how. thanks for the advice
hey lisa..since summer is just around the corner..maybe you can do a video on tinted moisturizers...i'm am searching for the right one and i would like your opinion!
Hello Darling Lisa so great to see you I agree always great videos and great tip's witch is the KEY to perfection Thank you so much for the time and the fabulouse tips you share with us Also I LOVE LUV the Star on your hair
hi lisaa, another great tips. god, just so thankful that i found your channel. having some question about the becca shimmering skin perfector. i lookrd it up on the net, and i found out that it comes in 5 different shades. i'm asian with fair to medium skin, and yellow undertone. could you please give me some advice about which shade that will suite me best.. thanks youuu. lots of love tay
Hi Lisa, very informative video and amazing look as usual :) just one question..can you recommend any bright lipsticks for asian skintones. I have a yellow undertone to my skin and quite a lot or redness on my cheeks. Any suggestions would be welcome :) x
My sister is having her wedding ceremony in next 2 days. It will be held at night, I'm going to wear coraly lipstick colour.. hopefully it'll good on my fair warm undertone.. wish me luck Lisa 🥰
hi lisa...I follow you with joy because you are so talented and elegant...I need a suggestion: I adore to emphasise my cheek structure by contouring everyday but in day time, on my fair skin bronzer can look pretty obvious and orangy...I'm between nw15-nc20 and I'm wondering if the chanel cream universelle coul be ok on me? Under the sun I would look orange-striped with it? hugs ;)
@missgigglez96 yes, but i have both of them 52 and 62 and they look NOTHING like what he has on. mine r really pink and on her video it looks blue undertoned :( and i love the color she has on....or how it looks on her
Hi Lisa =) I really love that shade on your lips! So much so that I went to get it online. However, I'm asian with a lot of yellow undertones. For some reason, it appears more of a bright hot magenta pink on me compared to a more blue base fuchsia on you. Do you have any recommendations for bright fuchsia lipsticks =)
Amazing! That neon color looks so cool on you! =) Well I have a question... My teeth are not prefectly white and I would really love to get a bright lipsticks... so I was wondering ....which color wouldn't make them appear really yellow? some say a Blue based listick will make your teeth appear whiter, but I don't know why soething makes me think it would accentuate the problem rather then hiding it! =/ So, what's best for not-perfectly-white teeth? Cooler tones or Warmer tones?
Introducing the lip color on the cheeks is brilliant!!!! A tip I will keep with me forever ,thanks so much!!!
Lisa Eldridge, been giving us good quality videos since 2010.
Yeah!
And still now! ❤
2019 and still so beautiful and relevant 😍😍
I love the tip about using lipstick as blusher - I've been doing this since your lipstick video and it works amazingly well! It always ties the look together really well and just looks effortless.
Have been having a Lisa Eldridge day today! Have watched heaps of tutorials and learnt so much. You are such an Inspiration xx
This is so pretty. Odd that I am less afraid wearing red lipstick than bright pink.
Me too! Red always looks fab, bright pink is hard. Thank goodness for Lisa Eldridge to show us how 💗
I love that you get so excited when you're talking about the colors! You're a makeup genius!
Love love love bright lips! They're my favourite to wear! Mac Rebel is also one of my favourite colours, although I prefer pinks and corals in the summer!

@angel89624 yes that's me, a new series os coming later this year. Thanks for your lovely comment and for watching x
Its a lovely pink color .it looks bright and natural so beautiful.and thank you for showing 💜💜💜🌼pretty pink
@taytanaka As you are fair to med, I think the pearl will still be good for you as its so transparent anyway and doesn't leave any colour once blended. it will give your skin a lovely lift. x
I always love the way you hold 10 different lipsticks at once!
@amyliaaa I really love the Bourjois foundations. If you have combination skin you will probably prefer the original Healthy Mix one as the finish is more velvety/matte. The Healthy Mix serum is also lovely but the finish is more dewy so you would need powder on your t-zone. I use the Serum one in the winter and the original in summer X

i'm already started trying out wearing brights watching your videos. thanks for showing how to wear them, i'm feeling comfortable wearing them now.

@EAC1215 you're absolutely right of course. Duh! I often get that name mixed up. Thanks for pointing out I've done it again x

Another fabulous video!! I love bright lips with natural blush and eyeshadow with a cat eye eyeliner. Love it!!

PS - that patting/dabbing lips-to-cheeks application is the cutest/coolest thing!
when you tapped the tiniest bit of the lipstick color onto the cheeks at the end, everything came together in the most gorgeous way. genius!
I know! I thought she already looked perfect but that tiny bit added a lot and was subtle but you could see it tied in! So good :)
@amjowaheer1 you could try Girl About Town by Mac its still a bright pink but its richer and has a deeper redder base than the one I'm wearing in this vid x
@LisaLisaD1 I cant think what Lancome Chris & Tell looks like right now. I'll have a look tomorrow and get back to you. Pleased you like the vid! x
I just LOVED this Lisa, i cant get enough of your videos! by far my favourite on youtube just so helpful!
Hi Lisa! I love your videos and am learning so much from them. I am going to be a bridesmaid next month and would love to see a video tutorial on a look appropriate for that. I will be wearing a deep red dress with a black sash and am looking for color schemes to co-ordinate with my dress. Thanks a ton!
@PinkRambles if yellow teeth are a major problem you can avoid the yellow based orange shades
@allthingsbeauty24 avoid yellowy oranges and orangey reds. Blue based pinks and reds make teeth appear whiter x
My favorite, almost everyday look. Thank you, Lisa!
I absolutely love the idea of "introducing" the lip color onto the cheeks instead of blush!

That color looks incredible on you.
Absolutely love you Lisa! I saw you from 10 years younger a coup;le of years ago....maybe? and you are simply fabulous!! Great advice!!!

I'm an NC20 would you recommend the becca shimmering skin perfector(?) in pearl or opal? Thanks so much, always look forward to your videos.
hi lisa...I follow you with joy because you are so talented and elegant...I need a suggestion: I adore to emphasise my cheek structure by contouring everyday but in day time, on my fair skin bronzer can look pretty obvious and orangy...I'm between nw15-nc20 and I'm wondering if the chanel cream universelle coul be ok on me? I love the colour on your nails! What is it?
Hi Lisa =) I really love that shade on your lips! So much so that I went to get it online. However, I'm asian with a lot of yellow undertones. For some reason, it appears more of a bright hot magenta pink on me compared to a more blue base fuchsia on you. Do you have any recommendations for bright fuchsia lipsticks =)
As usual excellent excellent tips Linda. Very thoural I likes that.. Eyebrow video pls. I need tons of tips on a good eyebrow. Thks.
Peace~
I love bright lips, brilliant video as usual!
:)
Hey Lisa,
Could you do a video on how to properly clean makeup brushes?
Amazing! That neon color looks so cool on you! =)
Well I have a question... =/
So, what's best for not-perfectly-white teeth? Cooler tones or Warmer tones?
Absolutely brilliant! Thanks Lisa!
Your cheekbones are gorgeous!!! Xoxo
This was fabulous! Love all your advice :) Thanks
I just love bold bright colours. xx
