Good to know: Rome seem to have ditched the pivot mount on the vice 23/24. For me a deal breaker, i like to set the inside high and outside low to exagerate the asym feel. Guess they did it to enlarge the step to katana
Can these be used without the Pivotmount? So fixing the strap/ladder direct to the wrap frame as per the D.O.D/390? On the fence between these and the D.O.D, want the more surfy feel of the Vice, but will never use the Pivotmount for what it's intended.
@@AngrySnowboarder Dealers choice on whether to go for this year's model with the (slightly) lighter wrap and revised base tray over the discounted 20/21?
How does the Vice compare to the 390. Need to replace the old 390s on my Gangplank and my local shop has the 390 on sale and Vice at full price. Worth the upgrade?
Hi and what a great job you do you videos have really taught me alot. I am setting up a 2020 Ride Superpig. Which incidentally I bought due to yours and others solid reviews. Now I need some bindings. Basically the pig will be be my daily driver. I'm 160 lbs 5 11. I ride all mountain mostly in the east and like to carve and butter, I don't jump or park more a low impact guy. But handling speed, vibration dampening, etc are more priority. Would this be a good choice? Other bindings I'm considering... Now Pilot Union Force ???others??
It's slightly softer than a Cartel probably more on par with a Malavita in terms of flex. Board feel is more reduced due to the disk size and doens't have that bullshit Burton Disk crap going on.
Just purchased a pair of these. I noticed when mounting them to my board the screws bottomed out in the insert as opposed to under the screw head. Has this been a problem for you in the past? I'm planning on shortening the screws.
@@AngrySnowboarder I understand it sounds that way, however I assure you the screw is only snug when I can feel it creating a raised spot on the bottom of the board.
@@AngrySnowboarder I put sharpie ink on the tip of the screw. after tightening it down then removing the screw there's a clear spot on the tip where the ink has been rubbed off from bottoming out.

What binding would you recommend for the 2022 Rome party mod and artifact I treated myself this year and got both. I’m thinking the vice or the katana. I’m in the Midwest and ride mostly park butters and jibs are my thing I do dabble in the small and medium jumps as well. I did plan to go to Colorado and do some real snowboarding in the mountains probably on the party mod mostly and wanted a binding that could hold up to more all mountain free riding as well. I was also looking at the nitro zeros as a another option for a more jib orientated binding what do think about those. Appreciate the help!
@@AngrySnowboarder does it come stock with no canting and then can be modified? (Not that I really want it but more trying to avoid bindings with 3°+ of canting)
Any of you fellas that ride vices long term ever have reliability problems? Loved how they ride but in 2 seasons I broke two *aluminum frames, two straps, and basically every screw in the thing would back out over time. They were 17’/18’ models by the way
Strata has more play underfoot but the Vice has more lateral flex over all. The toe to heel flex is about the same but the Strata highback tends to be just a hair stiffer.
@@AngrySnowboarder noticed that, but Rome bindings seem to be great! Are these two bindings actually fitting or should I look at something stiffer with more response for the Mega Merc?
I'd bump up to the Katana if you were doing Rome it makes more sense, the Strata is fine if you go with Union but the base tray is pretty big comparatively to other bindings from them and other brands.
I love this binding. I have 4 sets now. I like a nice surfy binding, but these can drive hard too. Just a great overall do everything binding.
Thanks for the Review!
I've recently bought Vice to pair it with Rome Agent. Very Solid Binding!

My advice.... these bindings are phenominal!! Overall 10/10
Rome Cleaver review incoming?
So this or a Cartel on a Mercury for all-mountain use (hope to play around a little on natural hits and such)?
Either will do you.

Then don't touch the pivot mount.
@@AngrySnowboarder Was thinking fewer screws, but no problem if they're solid. Can always use nail polish or whatever to lock them in.

Hello! What should I choose for carving, light freeride and jumps: Rome Vice or Drake SuperSport???
Drake makes shitty bindings there’s only one choice!

Depends on what you want. 390 has the full wrap, Vice has asym wrap. Changes the lateral play which is the big difference.
I've just bought them and try to tune
Rome Vice or Union Strata for the Salomon Dancehaul? As an all mountain sort of way
Yes.
Union strada!
Which bindings would compliment the Yes Greats better, Union Strata or Rome Vice?
Dealers choice on that.

Get the Ride C8 it matches up exceptionally well.
How is the board feel/ flex underfoot with these compared to something like the cartel?

They'll work, might want to upgrade to the Katana.

Do you think the time cleaver is more or less responsive than a Union Atlas?
I think it'll be a little different due to the disk shapes in both.
