They don't. At what time stamp did you see a Lambda shuttle fire mass drivers or a TIE fire super heavy proton torpedoes? I can assure you, as the creator of this submod, they do not.

I know it’s not realistic, but it’s Star Wars, it just looks 100 times better that way
Smoke is made up from burnt particles, so still possible in space but it would not look like this, it's be more like steam jets.
