It is hard to listen to sometimes, but PJ Harvey is never easy listening. Well, except for Stories... I still to this day wonder what was up with that one. It's so stand-alone in her catalog that it almost makes no sense that it ever happened.
She made a conscious decision to make an album like that. In many interviews she states that her ultimate goal as a musician is to never repeat herself and try something new every time.
