Petrolicious videos just evolved to a whole new level of documentary films. Proper, short documentary films worthy of awards on film festivals around the globe.
Petrolicious videos were introduced to me by Jay Leno. He introduced the guy that puts them on his own site (Petrolicious). Not you tube. So children can't ruin the video's by remarks. I know just don't read them.. I don't usually. Jay said, "I look forward to his video's like some of you look forward to mine. No ego, just telling people to go watch the right way.
Damnit, who's cutting onions? This is definitely one of your best releases to date Petrolicious. There's something that just feels right about a Porsche with a passionate German owner.
I'm a 80s/90s kid and for me, the 964 is by far the most attractive of any generation. The earlier cars are great but lack a certain refinement and the 993 got too curvy and bubbly. The 964 Turbo is still my dream car.
Supercar Advocates Nope, still ugly. The giant spoiler on this one helps because without a wing on the back 964s look like their droopy ass is falling off.
Well... I think we're saying that almost everytime! But that's a real tribute to the quality, work, passion that is poured into this videos. Petrolicious is truly one of the most beautiful things that can be found on the Internet. Point à la ligne.
Duuuuude. How do you guys manage to reach the same sky high production quality no matter where in the world you shoot? Does the same team travel all over? This is so moving...the photography, music, editing. This vid in particular deserves a billion views. WOW.
The filming and music on this one somehow sets the bar even higher. Literally breathtaking. It seems trite but these videos actually do make my day better.
Just got back from a late night 3 hour drive around town, just for the heck of it, "urban exploring". Watched this video and now I feel like going out again! One day I will drive my very own Porsche 911.
bert bever Fortunately. you wont have to go that extreme :p If you ever feel discouraged, just remember, there are thousands of 911's sold ever year. Thousands of people buy these every year. Why not you? Its not like they have any hidden powers. Now, if you were to seel both your kidneys and live in a cardboard box, maybe you would be at a slight disadvantage... :p
Just don't, the Porsche is cool, but there are plenty of GREAT cheap cars for petrolheads. Just get one, enjoy, then another, enjoy it, drive the fuck out of it, another, who knows, in a couple of years you might have a nice Porsche.
You know there's something plainly special when you've finished watching a video and check it twice to confirm yourself that you pressed that like button.. I don't recall any other YT channels that gave me the same feeling.
Cool Hans-Michael rocks! I was stationed in the town of Mannheim & recognize the nearby Hockenheimring. I knew many German guys who did garage Bugs and moved up to crafted 911s. Great story, cars, sounds, cinematography in a great little video.
Just been checking used prices on 996. They are affordable. Possibly not the prettiest model but still good looking imo. 2000 registered with 74k miles around £12k. Thanks Tom.
You're welcome, Julian. Despite its reputation, I quite like the pre-facelift 996 Carrera. The RSR always had great presence on track. I hope you find something you like.
Bought myself an e92 330i in January. My first performance car, which i adore. But the bmw has given me a taste for fast cars now and i'll be def looking at Porsche's when the time comes to replace. All the best Tom.
Julian Buckley the 3.0 litre BMW power plant is up there with any NA engine Porsche have created. What Porsche 6 do you know that can produce that type of HP over such a wide power band, and still return incredible economy and reliability?
I have followed this channel for quite some time, and I have to say something. Even taking into consideration how high of a bar this channel sets for itself, and no matter how consistently it does so, this piece just stands above many of the other videos you've made. This is simply beautifully shot, and the subject, person and car(s), just set a new high. A+!
i'm an italian petrolhead and i'm 23 years old. This is the most inspirational videos i've ever seen in my life... i will work my whole life to reach something like this. This is the only truth and essence behind the automotive world, i dream a world full of peoples like this who can grow through their passions and reach the happiness thanks to them.
A couple years back I had the opportunity to get a job where I would clean, take care of and drive one of my best friend's dad's car collection that consisted of at least 6 Porsches. To this day, the most fun I've ever had in a road car was his black 1990 964 Turbo. I can't explain exactly why aside from the power and shift feel, but my god was that car amazing, and this video shows that I think.
Best nat sound of the piece is the distinct click of the 964 door latch at 1:12. My father purchased a 964 new in 1990 and I was fortunate enough to be along for the test drive and later purchase the car from my mother after my father died. As stated in the video, the 964 really does possess the old world in a modern car.
You guys just keep outdoing yourself. The cinematography is absolutely amazing every time and its nothing short of amazing how well the episodes are written and cut. Tuesdays are suddenly days to look forward to because of your stellar work!
Wow, awesome video.. From the music choices, to the shots, and of course the story of the driver. I'm not even a huge Porsche fan but this clip gave me goosebumps and had to replay it. Well done!
At 8.30 minutes the noise of that car fantastic! For a moment I was driving it through that forest early on a sunday morning. What a lovely daydream. Great video.
It's beyond me why this channel doesn't consistently have an average of 5 million views per video. This is the perfect balance of art and power Well done. I look forward to next week's video
Is it just me or does anyone else get goosebumps while watching this video? The 964, the perfect car. Timeless! And then this bloke talking about what made me follow this channel. This pure passion for cars, design and the way we define mobility. Yeah, I am getting it... there are amazing new cars out there and even though I work for the inventor of the automobile, I just can't stop watching videos of old 911. It's an addiction and it's a global one. Thank you Petrolicious for bringing us together. I am so proud to be part of your community because there is nothing comparable out there. You guys set the benchmark for years to come! P.S. Fun fact: Check out the poster at 6:16 because it says: You got more time for breakfast and you will be early for dinner. Could there be a better family car?
I have to rewatch this.. that was surreal. What a dream, what a car!! This one goes to one of the best you've ever made, in my opinion, next to morning ritual. Thanks for doing this, really, this is incredible.
Yeah, can only agree the 964 is the most desirable one of the luftgekühlten. A rare species with a classic shape and flowing lines. Just beautiful! Thanks petrolicious for this authentic video of true 964 love!
Petrolicious staff, I'm a former auto journalist from LA, currently working government in DC. I stay attuned to the scene from afar. I'm also an audiophile/home theater snob. I've watched every single Petrolicious video in my home theater in surround via Roku. For a streaming video, this video is the best your site has ever produced. The videography is amazing, and the sound quality, for what it is, is exceptional. Your European dude(s), here, need more work. Outstanding.
One of my favorite Porsche videos. In 2002 I bought a new 911 only to find out that the new generation of Porsche were frowned upon and also the ims bearing can destroy an engine if it fails. So I stopped driving it. The car has 5472 miles on it This video has made me say forget the bearing and start driving it again as soon as I put new tires on it. The original tires are 22 years old. The power of a fantastic video can not be overstated
A brilliant clip that so accurately captures my feelings about cars and driving. It has dreams, passion, and fulfilment all rolled into one. Your best so far. Keep it up guys! Now what shall I get out of my garage and drive next.. .. Ur quattro 20V, E39 M5, Megane 265 RS, or Honda (Acura) Integra Type R DC2.. . it's all about the thrill of the drive!
Hans you have so precisely captured so very many of my thoughts! The 930 / 964 Turbo power delivery, yes "intense" is the word. The fact that we could buy newer but why? And, the statement of wanting to live the last 10, 15 or 20 years of your life doing what you want to do, your passion! I hope you have more than 20 years left mate! Great video!
The way you guys are filming stuff now is crazy been watching your videos from the start and now the quality of everything and camera angles is just incredible, Tuesday's can't come fast enough!
Great film about the essence of what drove his relationship with cars. I started at 17 years old by lowering a type 3 VW fastback to corner flatter because it was what I had and I am so glad it was. The 964 is as far forward from there as I need to go from my first rear engined, don't lift turn.
"Es ist halt einfach mein Audo, feddich!" There is a value in a car, that you've been wrenching on and racing in for several years, that cannot be replaced.
9 minutes of pure art. It is the Petrolicious way!
agreed. im watching it and i cant stop smirking or shaking my head. It's pure beauty.
***** everything happens for a reason
I drive mine every day and love every second of it
NINE MINUTES TOO LONG!!!!!!!
Petrolicious videos just evolved to a whole new level of documentary films. Proper, short documentary films worthy of awards on film festivals around the globe.
Couldn't agree more. They are on another level.
100% agree
Petrolicious videos were introduced to me by Jay Leno. He introduced the guy that puts them on his own site (Petrolicious). Not you tube. So children can't ruin the video's by remarks. I know just don't read them.. I don't usually. Jay said, "I look forward to his video's like some of you look forward to mine. No ego, just telling people to go watch the right way.
I tought it would be about the car but it is all about the guy ...
Camilo Nunes it’s about the car AND the guy.
petrolicious, I'm so glad you exist
Buy a shirt👍
Klasse Act that was a great idea, so I just did
Good job Scott, I have 2 in my collection and looking at a 3rd!
Petrolicious stupid question... where do I buy a shirt?
nwGTS ...www.Petrolicious.com
The freedom to do what I love - spot on
Antonio Talarico This!! This is making me second guess going after a degree. I should learn how to fix these and never work again.
This is amazing - think about it - i want to know what you ll decide
Well, I'm going to get the degree and work, but I'll have to figure out how to do it in my spare time like the fellow in the video.
Thats a good plan - dont let life go by without fulfilling your dream
Oh, I'm halfway through it now. I'm going back to school after my first career.
Damnit, who's cutting onions?
This is definitely one of your best releases to date Petrolicious. There's something that just feels right about a Porsche with a passionate German owner.
The 964 was once known as the ugly duckling but now it is more beautiful than ever... Stunning doesn't quite describe it
To me, it looks better and far more purposeful than the 996....
I've seen skodas better looking than the 996 dude....
People are gonna think the same about 996, just wait a few more years :D
That is the best video you guys have ever put together! Thank you!
Agreed... this is one of their best!!!
just a little more car sound.
This is a hard one , I believe because the human factor weigh as much as the car factor most of their vid are very good.
Well... I think we're saying that almost everytime!
But that's a real tribute to the quality, work, passion that is poured into this videos.
Petrolicious is truly one of the most beautiful things that can be found on the Internet. Point à la ligne.
Totally agree with you, fantastic video and Porsche!
Every month or so,sometimes once a week,i come back to this video.
Extraordimary shots, editing, cool story and an amazing car. Thank you.
How does this channel not have millions of subs
masses belong to shmee. real art will never be for the masses.
Camera work is simply amazing, fitting background music and a good car story. 10/10
Oh mein Gott. Königstuhl, Wasserturm, Uni Mannheim und dann ein göttlicher 964 aus der Nachbarschaft. Perfektion!
I knew the place and the scenery looked familiar. I lived in the neighborhood from Sept 2016 till Sept 2017.
Hans-Michael, eine super Lebenseinstellung, danke dir.
Duuuuude. How do you guys manage to reach the same sky high production quality no matter where in the world you shoot? Does the same team travel all over? This is so moving...the photography, music, editing. This vid in particular deserves a billion views. WOW.

Wie immer - Wahnsinns Video!
Schön, seinen Traum so zu verfolgen. Danke Mr. Gerischer!
i get goosebumps while watching this! Liebe Grüße!
Irgendwann will ich auch mal die Möglichkeit haben so einen 964 turbo zu fahren
My God! you guys deserve an Oscar for your Amazing videos!
The last bit of this was Brilliant.
What an incredible story.
That end sequence is just unbelievable.
now this, way on another level. sound design, shots even the subtitles
Just got back from a late night 3 hour drive around town, just for the heck of it, "urban exploring". Watched this video and now I feel like going out again! One day I will drive my very own Porsche 911.
i would sell both my kidney's, and live in a cardboard box just so i could one day own a car like this.
bert bever
Fortunately. you wont have to go that extreme :p

One of the top 10, or even top 5, best videos you've ever made. GREAT work.
You know there's something plainly special when you've finished watching a video and check it twice to confirm yourself that you pressed that like button.. I don't recall any other YT channels that gave me the same feeling.
Always look forward to the new weekly video!
Cool Hans-Michael rocks! I was stationed in the town of Mannheim & recognize the nearby Hockenheimring. I knew many German guys who did garage Bugs and moved up to crafted 911s. Great story, cars, sounds, cinematography in a great little video.
Great film. Top bloke. Fantastic car. Only problem is i now want a 911 badly and may never be able to afford one.
The 996 might be your best bet. They seem to be regarded as undesirable, and that of course keeps prices lower than earlier air-cooled models.
Just been checking used prices on 996. They are affordable. Possibly not the prettiest model but still good looking imo. 2000 registered with 74k miles around £12k. Thanks Tom.

It's art. This channel is art. At it's finest.

Just awesome! I owned a 996 for eight years but always craved a 993. Now I must own a 964!
your videos make me take my weekend car out on tuesday! thank you!

I don't speak a word of German, however I could talk to this guy about a shared automotive passion all day! Another beautifully shot and edited video.
This is my favourite car channel. I love classic cars and the way you guys make both the car and the owner the main focus of the video. Sublime.
What a terrific set of shots, for a weekly film series? Such a tremendous effort, thank you!
A couple years back I had the opportunity to get a job where I would clean, take care of and drive one of my best friend's dad's car collection that consisted of at least 6 Porsches. Wow, awesome video.. From the music choices, to the shots, and of course the story of the driver. I'm not even a huge Porsche fan but this clip gave me goosebumps and had to replay it. Well done!
Perfection.
No other words needed for this production.
Thank you, Petrolicious.
By far my favorite one of your movies to date. The incredible cinematic ending gave me goosebumps.
Does anyone know the instrumental from 07:20
This video is hands down the best one they have done
At 8.30 minutes the noise of that car fantastic! For a moment I was driving it through that forest early on a sunday morning. What a lovely daydream. Great video.
you guys are aware of the fact that You have made the best car enthusiast channel on YT??
This channel really deserves more notice, if this was on TV it would look so awesome
The quality of this one is astonishing! Very well done!
It's beyond me why this channel doesn't consistently have an average of 5 million views per video. This is the perfect balance of art and power
Well done. I look forward to next week's video
What a Hero. Love his passion and the wish to ‘just drive’. Thumbs up
That's a sexy as 964. That's a Porsche legend
This has to be the most underrated UA-cam Channel in existence. Sublime.
Jesus. Another gem from Petrolicious Germany. They're on fire.
yup! Really liked the Renault Alpine one a while ago. Great stuff!
this is by far the best car channel on youtube, every video has so much passion and love, I can't get enough!
Is it just me or does anyone else get goosebumps while watching this video? The 964, the perfect car. Timeless! And then this bloke talking about what made me follow this channel. This pure passion for cars, design and the way we define mobility.

Schön, dass man alles auf deutsch verstehen kann ;)
Fantastic! The cinematography in your productions is hands down best on UA-cam. In fact I can't think of anywhere else that does it better.
This is the best video you guys have ever made! Thank you so much!
The best 10 minutes of soulful automotive story telling I've ever watched. Thank you
this video gives me chills. awesome
One of the most beautifully shot from Petrolicious. It’s perfect in every way. And those white 964s....WHEW!!!
I have to rewatch this.. that was surreal. What a dream, what a car!! This one goes to one of the best you've ever made, in my opinion, next to morning ritual. Thanks for doing this, really, this is incredible.
Amazing story and car.
I think you have the coolest 911.
WOW!!! I live in this city!!!! I saw this piece of art on the roads!
I was so hyped when saw the thumbnail
I had to watch it for two times. First to read the subtitles, second to watch the actual video. Perfect anyway!
i wonder where that forest at the end is. what a great car.
@FrankValchiria - We filmed at the "Königstuhl" near Heidelberg in Germany.
For me, It is the best video of the Made to Drive serie. Congrats guys. And the way it is filmed, awesome.
No one tells the story of Auto as Petrolicious does. No one. Amazing.
Yeah, can only agree the 964 is the most desirable one of the luftgekühlten. A rare species with a classic shape and flowing lines. Just beautiful! Thanks petrolicious for this authentic video of true 964 love!

This is wonderful to watch. The passion, the owner, the truly beautiful camera work, the colors . Great job on this one . I could watch it all day.
Sheesh.
You folks at Petrolicious, set the bar for car documentary shorts, and just. keep. taking it up.
Thank you for another great video.
Both the 964 Turbo and owner Hans-Michael are an inspiration! Do what you love! Use the remainder of your time to follow and exercise your passion! 👍🏻
Best film to date.
Watched this three years ago and came back today and this video still gives me chills! Love it!
Could watch that a 1000 times....i just LOVE Porsches
“It’s just simply my car, end of story.”
So concise
This is one the best car videos I’ve ever watched. Absolutely stunning!
You guys are artists , and no one can change my mind about that
A wonderful episode about a man that does what he loves most! Great movie!
Legendary Video , again... Thanks for making a master piece
A brilliant clip that so accurately captures my feelings about cars and driving. It has dreams, passion, and fulfilment all rolled into one. Your best so far. Keep it up guys! Great video!
this video gives me chills. thank you for being such an inspiration.
You are on the right track Petrolicious with amazing and high quality video's. Keep 'm coming!
The 964 isn't my favorite generation, but it's difficult not to like them when they're presented this well. Great film!
Just 1 minute into the video and I subscribed. Wow!
The way you guys are filming stuff now is crazy been watching your videos from the start and now the quality of everything and camera angles is just incredible, Tuesday's can't come fast enough!
I usualy dont comment your video since i dont believe you need to be told how great they are, but this... Its gonna make me cry. Seriously
Awesome vr, as usual. Petrolicious and their Porsche based videos are always five stars 😀👍
Bravo Petrolicious, this is a video of the highest quality!!! Loved every second of it. Thank you.
The 964 was the pinnacle for me - love the “Turbo look” wide bodies in a smaller frame. Perfect blend of finesse and muscle.
Gotta love my people and my country
Geschmack hin oder her das ist ein verdammt schönes Auto. Eines Tages ..
Great film about the essence of what drove his relationship with cars. I started at 17 years old by lowering a type 3 VW fastback to corner flatter because it was what I had and I am so glad it was. The 964 is as far forward from there as I need to go from my first rear engined, don't lift turn.
Wow. The car. The person. The transference of desire to go after your passion. Just, wow.
"Es ist halt einfach mein Audo, feddich!" There is a value in a car, that you've been wrenching on and racing in for several years, that cannot be replaced.
Your videos are some of the most artistic, elegant works of filmmaking I've ever seen. Keep up the good work guys. You deserve awards for your videos!
Superb story, filming, music and composition...just great. Thank you!
