No disrespect to the artists, but it's the writer and producer episodes for me. Harold Lily, Kosine, Theron Thomas, Ryan Toby, The Avila Brothers, Troy Taylor. Salute! Thank you, RNB Money!
No one is giving the producers and the writers their flowers like you guys are. Thank you for shining so much light on these giants! They are artists too and they deserve to speak their piece on the craft just like the other artists we see on stage, tour, award shows, etc.
My GAWD…that “Laaaately” and “We don't buy no drinks at the bar” had me hollerin’! 😂 RnB Money hands down is definitely the BEST and most entertaining Podcast out!
Troy is a phenomenal storyteller, and I'm not shocked because most writers often are! This episode is instantly among my top 5 episodes for giving industry intelligence alone!
One person I want ya'll to interview is Marsha Ambrosious from Floetry. This womans pen game is UNSPOKEN about. She not only has THE voice but that pen game....check the resume! Micheal Jackson - Butterflys, Glen Lewis - Lonely....her work and talent it insane
I hope Trey watches this. Of course him and Troy have a solid brotherhood, but it's the way he told the stories about the come up. He really gave him his flowers, and I hope he knows that his music is still loved by so many. I'll l never forget the day I became a fan.
Same here o was cleaning my house when his song Gotta Make It came on the radio. I stopped, sat down and listened and he was my Son from that point on lol
I was mentored by Troy as a songwriter for two years......there's nothing in this interview that I didn't hear at some point as far as development. I dropped the ball but I'm grateful for his belief in me as a songwriter. Shout out to Troy Taylor!!!!
I think you guys should do a playlist for the podcast cuz I like going back listening to the songs with a full understanding of where it came from. It’s amazing
This has been LONGGGG overdue! Soooo ready for this one. He is one of the best storytellers ever And and amazing (vocal) producer and mentor to many!!!
This interview was number one RICH in knowledge and number two reminded of the BANGERS Trey has....I had to go back and listen real quick! I also love the discipling that Troy demonstrates!
So thankful for Trey’s mom’s belief in Troy to do it solo and keeping as much peace as you could through thr record label sht. These records are CRAZY and time stamp pivotal points in my life. Keep coloring Troy. It’s a blessing to receive your gifts 🙏🏼
Easily top 5 episode. Wow. Testimony of rushing and being anxious, still GOD can get you out no matter how deep that is So we decided to pray and fast on it And so much more. Hands down phenomenal episode
I'm soooo late but, I finally got a chance to watch this in its entirety, at work today lol. Mannnnnnn, Troy Taylor was pivotal to my college party days in the early 2000s lol! I had no idea this man was responsible for Mr. Steal Your Girl, himself. His drive and commitment to artist development is A1. A legend without a doubt.
I’m 25 but momz put me on all the good music . When I look back at all the r&b artist I gravitated towards i guess it was all thanks to Mr. Troy Taylor. So Thankyou & More Power to You for many more moons and life to come.
This episode was incredible. Troy has been an incredible mentor to many, myself included but moreso my brother who produced IN THE MIDDLE on Trey's 1st album. He always took the time to explain and teach the whys and the history of music. His collection of physical music (Cds and Vinyls) that he pulls from at a moments notice to really SHOW you is extensive. He taught us that the perfect notes are great but the FEELING and the PASSION is whats most important and what connects with the audience. He is forever a LEGEND and I'm grateful to have known and worked with him. Dope Episode #TTU
I turned away from Trey Songz because of the politics, it’s amazing to remember these AMAZING songs that I loooooove. That’s the big difference from the new school and old school. Their music back in the day could do what it did because we didn’t know what they were doing behind the scenes.
Mr Taylor has proven he can find the "diamonds in the rough" and nurture them into "diamonds in the sky." I love every RnB Money episode. The bricks, not nuggets, of information that come out of those episodes are phenomenal. The tambourine comes out when Tank sings, "I ain't saying no names."
Yes you definitely can. But unfortunately Nobody wants to do that anymore, you have to come already developed into a finished product in this era. Unfortunate, but it’s just the truth.
LOVE THIS EPISODE!!! Soon as he said "can you feel me" I knew right away Kenny Lattimore! And Kenny did excellent on that! Troy is absolutely amazing!!
Watching this all the way from South Africa 🇿🇦 . This gentleman's contribution to the R&B universe is immeasurable, thank you Tank and J. Valentine for creating a space for such stories to be curated and documented.🙌
That “Can’t Be Friends” story is such a great moment in describing a trustful artist/producer relationship. Mario Winans needs to be on the podcast. What he did on Tamia’s debut album prod “Rain On Me” and “Never Gonna Let You Go” is pure r&b genius. Oh wow to hear him mention Jeff Lorber i can relate as a producer. His albums are so well put together where every instrument is highlighted plus he's an amazing arranger & composer. BET Jazz used to be one of my favorite shows to watch on Sundays and there's an episode he's on.
Thank you both Tank and Troy for really acknowledging Beyoncé’s vocal ability. Her talent as a vocalist and technician is one of the best! The execution, the versatility, the delivery. Thank you because I feel like people forget
