  • Learn 3 ways to eliminate or make your holes smaller in corner to corner crochet. Which one is best for you?
    In my journey to learn and teach corner to corner crochet, I came across a blog by "Clearly Helena" that said you could do it with NO holes at all. I was intrigued. Although I don't mind the holes, I know that it keeps many from enjoying this type of crochet... and it is a joy to do. So I tried it out! And then one of the members from my Facebook group introduced me to another way to minimize (but not eliminate) the holes via a video by Colleen Hayes (linked below). The third way was actually already demonstrated (kind of by accident) in my first Corner To Corner video called the Absolute Basics Kitchen Cloth where by following my normal method for double crochet, I taught the first hole-minimizing technique which I call the "One-less-chain" method (linked below).
    I would love to hear which of these techniques works best for you and your project or even better, if YOU have a revolutionary method for decreasing the holes in your C2C Crochet.

    Because of the holes, I went for the entrelac technique for my first blanket, but I also wanted to do C2C. Thank you for your research and showing so well the different techniques 💜 I think I'll go with the cluster stitch, I'm already used to it, it's quick, it's simple, and I know I'll mess up the linked DC due to my terrible eyesight 🤣

    my usual way of doing it is with the ch2 and a hdc. I like your cluster stitch one best of the three you showed

      Since making this video I have made all kinds of clusters but I think my favorite now is the 2 hdc block

    I am doing something similar but only linking the third DC to the second DC on the adjacent square. This eliminates the larger holes and doesn't change the look at all and doesn't slow me down too much. :)

    Linked c2c for scarf I think. I would like to try it but am so slow still at crochet. I probably will do one in the middle one forget the name though but started as you did with it. Only been into crochet for about 2 years now. Still learning. Thank you for the wonderful lesson you are a very good teacher.

    wow.. lots of research you have did.. for a scarf ( not a shawl) i would use the double cluster.. i do like last one the no holes, but it is too slow.. and would get frustrating for me.. esp since i am working on 4 or more other projects, i dont like to take too much time.. cuz they are taking heaps lol.. :) but great video and ty for all you do

    I watch a C2C it different then this. You do a Ch 5 N a Ch 3 but not chain any of the DC together. Her Channel is Crochet Therapy

    • @GinellCooper
      @GinellCooper  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, that was the first one I learned but for me, the gap between the squares is too big so I went down to chain 5 and 2 instead of 6 and 3. I am a loose crocheter though so if your stitches are tighter it may work just fine for you. Also this video was at the beginning of my C2C journey and now I find myself using the mini c2c more often which is ch 4, 2 hdcs (instead of 3 dcs) and chain 2. If you want to see it, there is a 1 minute video on my channel or also I use it in the Pansy Pocket Scarf and the Halloween Kitchen Cloth.

      I like it that way it looks too.
      My Crocheting is tight when it needs to be.
      I don't like holes or Gaps becuz it makes it look like your project is not done right.
      Plus you don't want to give someone a gift with Gaps or holes in it.😂
      I'm trying to do Coloring Pooling. I'm watching your Videos N The Crochet Crowd with Mike,Marley am try I don't know know 😂

    I started doing c2c with dc, but wound up using hdc with 5 chains and 2ch . It is a bit smaller but there are no holes to speak of and it is square. I’m on my 5th graphgan.

    • @GinellCooper
      @GinellCooper  Рік тому +1

      The mini C2C is my favorite (which is chain 4 and 2 and only 2 hdc's per square). I use it with anything that has a graph because the squares are smaller so the graph isn't as blocky and the holes are tiny. It's demonstrated on the Halloween kitchen cloth video and I think on the pansy pocket scarf.

      That's an excellent question. I don't think I have ever done a corner to corner piece that required decreasing. So far everything I have done with it has been square or rectangular. What are you creating? Maybe that will help me visualize it

      It's been a while since I made this video so I need to rewatch to see what was covered here. I think if you would like to see me decrease, a great video for that is the absolute basics of C2C. I think it was the next video after this one but here is the link to it. It's actually way easier than you might think. Just apply that concept to each of these techniques
