Great video enjoyed it. I have been to Amherst, and run the Peddler River fire trails nothing bad on them, maybe mud if it rains. Keep it up love the Jeep .
@@FischerJeepAdventures i saw that and def will take you up on your recommendation- looks beautiful. Gotta wait for Spring now tho- I’m a fair weather camper these days. Lol.
@@FischerJeepAdventures peavine has been closed for years now. All thats left is a gravel road up the mountain to a gate. Nice veiws and there is a very snake ridden pond at the gate. Back in the day (90's) the road was 13 miles long, it went under the parkway had a few streams and a bunch of mudholes then there was some offshoots where 1 even took you all the way to beuna vista. I think it got closed due to someone setting fires on the mountain. And lately the gate at the bottom of the road is closed from jan to april. No other places close by that are " legal " to trail ride in the area.
Jason, thanks and sounds like it was a good one, shoe creek is the same way the middle section is closed off because of bad trail behavior and because people cant throw away their trash your not allowed to camp there anymore, its a real shame. When i was in Moab this year there were warnings everywhere about being trail courteous, staying on the marked paths and picking up your trash as the forrest service was threatening to close more than 10000 acres of trails because people cant do the right thing. Well thanks for the reply I appreciate it!
Mark, there is plenty of height and width for your truck, i am just under 8 feet tall with the tent and about 6 and a half feet wide and we had plenty of room, the trail may be tight in areas but certainly passable, if you go have a good time
Emily, I am not sure if a side by side is prohibited on that trail, in places its probably more suited to a side by side than a jeep, so depending on what the national forest service says and the other issue would be access, both ends of the trail are roads so it may be a challenge getting to them as there is no parking area or really any place for a tow rig. Sorry I am not much help, i think you can but the best bet would be to call the forest service, their number is 540-265-5100, good luck
A couple Jeeps and I are running this trail Sunday but we were planning to bring my daughter’s stock envoy along. It’s hard to tell just how bad the rutted areas in the video. I had always been told this was a stock friendly trail. In your opinion would a normal stock 4WD suv (gmc envoy) do okay here?
Hello, definitely not stock friendly, the first part toward the tunnel is yes but after that as you climb back towards the parkway, there is no way an envoy would make it, a stock jeep with a good line in dry conditions yes but of there is any rain or the trail is wet a stock factory jeep sport will have trouble, part of the trail in the steep sections are very rutted up and the mud holes at the top if full can be deep, I would not take the chance of taking that vehicle. In my opinion an envoy is a nice street vehicle with 4x4 for snow on the road, gravel roads and fire roads but not trails. There are really no areas to turn around once you get passed the tunnel and the risk of breaking something or getting seriously stuck would be high!
@@FischerJeepAdventures Do you think a stock 2019 Grand Cherokee Trail Hawk could do this? Thinking about heading out that way in a couple weekends. Probably should be relatively dry...
Steve, I think you might be okay if you have all terrain tires, that vehicle is pretty capable on its own, the issue will be the traction needed on the steep section coming up from the tunnel back towards the blue ridge pkwy, if you went the other way from the blue ridge pkwy down to buena vista access as long as the mud holes up top were not deep you would be okay
@@FischerJeepAdventures Thanks! I don't have a winch yet, so I don't want to get stuck... I have the stock all terrain wrangler tires on there. I did Peter's Mill Run a few weeks back with no issues. Thanks for the advice!
@Steve-kj9tx if peters mill was ok, you should be fine then, i would just use 4 low range and let it crawl up the hill, like you said as long as its dry, if you find traction is an issue you can back down and get turned around, If you go let me know how it went, i think its worth a shot
I have it on a rubber isolation mount and then the picture stabilization function in the camera takes care of the rest. Thanks for checking out our channel!
@@FischerJeepAdventures Thank you! I'm an avid camper but have a channel dedicated to classic cars. Still learning the ins and outs of good camera technique. 😉
Awesome! Ill tell you I just got the new iphone 14 pro and it takes better short range photos and videos than anything else I have, truely amazed at what i can do, only had it a few weeks so i am still learning, my son just got married and i took some portraits with it and they turned out better than the pro!
You are giving a lot of trails to visit 😄🤣🤣👍
Enjoy :)

Thank you and thanks for checking out the channel, cant wait for spring/summer to get back out on the trails
Nice. Gonna hit this one.
Bring your camping gear there are some cool camp sites right on the creek along the trail

This trail reminds me of Peavine or Rocky Row Run off 130 in Amherst/Big Island
Cool, the only trails I have been on near there are the pedlar atv trail system. Are there good jeep trails marked in gaia pr onx offroad?

How big is the tunnel? I have a 84 Chevy with 7 inch lift and 37's do you think it will fit?
