I’ve driven that trail more times than I can count. The more people that find out about it, the more people will destroy it and get it shut down permanently. There used to be a larger trail network that joins this one. We always called it Peavine. It was permanently closed because idiots destroyed everything around the trail. They cut trees down, trashed the place (even left a car up there) and widened it some places. This trail is closer to the parkway side of this one. The gate is across the creek and might not be visible this time of year because of vegetation.
It's a great trail. With the advent of navigation apps like OnX and Gaia, it's inevitable that trails like this will become more well-known and popular. All we can do is encourage responsible use of the land.
Hey I very much enjoyed the video, please keep it up. A few things I did love, one that you picked up after those who didn't to keep the trails nice. Thats solid and I wish more people would do. The second thing is including the Lat and Long of where you got onto your trails. I live in the PWN and plenty of times see awesome trails like this locally here and have hell finding them but the Lat and Long make that possible to follow along if someone would love to see the sites for themselves. I know that video can a lot of times not capture the full beauty of a trail. Keep up the outstanding videos and love the rig man. Keep getting out there and enjoying the rig and the trails. Great video.
Thank you so much for the kind words! Some of my pet peeves are people trashing the trails, and people trying to keep the location of public trails a secret.
It was my first time out there. I'd been planning to go for months, but something always seemed to come up to make me cancel my plans. I'm glad that I finally made it out there!
Sorry to hear about your dad. My brother and I did Enchanted Creek exactly a month ago and several of our friends have been since and we are headed back again this weekend, with some other friends. It's a great little trail, that's close to people in central Virginia and not to difficult. It's a good 3, on On X offroad.
Thanks. It's been a rough summer. There's been a lot of times that I've made plans to head out there to Enchanted Creek, but plans always fell through. I'm glad that I finally made it out there!
So sorry to hear about your dad .That looks like a great trail no a big fan of the mud but i guss it rained .recently. i gess no foliage out there yet we are in MAINE right now just finished THE GOLDEN ROAD in the north woods really cool trail more like stone road we did get to see 2 moose and some colorful trees a little early but beautiful
Thanks, Neil. This summer has been trying, but I'm getting to the other side of it. I've been wanting to hit Maine for a long time, and hopefully I'll make it up there some time after the first of the year!
Good one! It didn't look there was anyone else out there. I went last year and was miserable because some club was out there with about 20 rigs. Nothing like sitting in traffic on a trail.
We encountered a couple of guys on dual sports, other than that we didn't see another soul all day. I was expecting more people out there, but I guess we got lucky.
Cool videos. Just found the channel. Enjoying it. Definitely get a meetup going. We’re in RVA. We have ‘16 Rubicon Hard Rock. Close cousin to your rig. Keep the content coming.
@@DefiantOffroad I think it really depends on the group you're going to meet up with. What's their skill level? How modified are their vehicles? Questions I'm sure you're already tossing around. I'm from VA so naturally I'm going to suggest stuff closer to me haha!
Would love to know the waypoints for this trail. I believe I have been on part of it but dont remember the tunnel. I followed the VA TAT map from eastern NC through VA and back into western NC. Thanks!
Thanks. I marked two campsites. The first one (the one in the video) is at: 37.65229, -79.32736. I marked a second one, which looked better, at: 37.63372, -79.33955.
It's a prototype rack by Novsight. They haven't put it into production yet. So far it seems to be working well. I don't know what the timeline is as to when they're going to put it into production.
Is this trail big enough for a fullsize truck? Recently moved back to Lynchburg area and had to sell my jeeps before moving but would still like to find some good trails around here. Have a 04 ram 2500 quad cab on 35s right now.
I don't recall any areas on the trail that would be too tight for a full size truck, so I'd say that you'd probably be good to go. Check out Broad Run also, if you like water crossings. Plenty of room there for a full size!
My kids do this, despite my best efforts and to my extreme frustration. I cannot figure it out either and I see so many other kids doing it too, it makes the future look really bleak. What’s worse is I can’t even get them to answer why they do it, or who they think should have to clean it up. One is 7 so I guess it’s kind of excusable but the other is 10 and it’s the exact same story. There are 8-12 year old kids in the neighborhood who leave trash every time they play in my yard, too and it’s the exact same mentality- once it leaves my hands I’m not touching it again! Taking my 10 year old to a Tread Lightly! Cleanup this weekend 😅
I didn't air down. The trail is fairly basic. I did use 4-hi a couple of times for a few wet/muddy spots. I probably could have done them in 2WD, but I wasn't trying to prove anything..
Hey buddy, I just saw some pics from Enchanted Creek on a FB group that were taken today. Apparently it's got some deep muddy ruts in a few spots, so just wanted to follow up and let you know. It didn't look hard, but would probably definitely need 4WD.

Trail ride
It's in the planning stages! I just have to nail down a date and a location. Any suggestions for a trail to hit?

Wonder if an f150 can fit through that tunnel
Just getting into this stuff we did cub run and it was fun. Just a gravel road.
Yes. It would fit through there no problem!

Idk why it’s so hard for people to just not throw their trash on the ground
I'll never figure it out either. It's really not that hard. It's definitely one of my biggest pet peeves on the trails.

Probably no need to but , just asking a question. Did you air down ? Ever go into 4H or 4L?

We need to hook up and trail together, 2 2017 Rubicon Recons mine is black.
For sure! Where are you based out of?
