@@JonBoatRiverCats I have had a lot of good luck all through there dragging baits. But I have donated a lot of rigs to that snaggy bottom.
Up above the bluff on that section is pretty smooth for about 300 yards going towards the dam. Also from Steele bridge to 85 is pretty smooth.
Where are y’all catching those monster shads on Gaston? I’ve not had any luck finding them.
I get those at my local lake I can't find them either. Easier to find schools of perch at Gaston and jig for them. It's a really good bait for gaston
