@@chipattack912I think he means that the C8.R and new Z06 GT3, being a flat plane crank, are missing that earth shaking, feel it in your chest sound that the previous generations had, which I totally understand. To me, they don’t quite feel like a Corvette anymore.
@@AndrewDorsey27 The funny thing to me is if anything the C8 gt3's sound like how a ferrari should! Meanwhile the actual ferrari has some vacuum cleaner sounding v6 that is barely audible.
Been a very very long time since a factory Ford backed Mustang went back to endurance, but Mustang by way of Saleen Mustangs has a storied history running in Lemans24hrs back in the late 90's 97 to be exact running the same event as the then new McLaren F1's.
I am very excited that the Ford Mustang is racing at the Rolex 24 of Daytona. I will be watching and pulling for them. Now, if they would be running in the 24 Hrs of LeMan.
Mustangs on the road have the engine up front and so does the race car. The motor is as far back as it needs to be, balance is ideal. If they build a mid or rear engine Mustang, they can build a rear engine race car, but they won't. They have a successful rear engine race car already, called Ford GT.
@@vfr800anon5 I disagree, if Chevy wanted to make a knock off Ferrari then make a new model... don't destroy one of the most iconic muscle cars in history to get there. The C8 does look nice, but it doesn't have the same ground shaking rumble as it's predecessors. Also Corvette racing was extremely successful with FR set up so it's not like they needed to move the engine to be competitive.

I see they went with a Saleen-Allen-like livery (horse on the side), though less aggressive. I guess tradition since the last mustangs to compete in GT2/GT3 were Saleens.
I didn’t think I’d like the Mustang … I might … I might actually like a Ford. I Think I need to call a mental health professional …me liking a Ford. It’s pretty badass.
The results are now in and Multimatic, as good that that company is at doing what it does, it seems it's no Carrol Shelby. That said, I hope they are able to learn what they need to learn from this race and make these cars podium finishers. I deeply want this to be a success.
The only good sounding ford V8 was the GT40 and that was due to the exhaust and firing order. If you count the Cosworth DFV flat plane crank engine (with Ford financing and participation), it was the best sounding and most successful for decades. Otherwise the only great sounding GT3 engines are the Porsche GT3 and the Vette new flat plane crank C8 Z06 which unfortunately don’t run straight exhaust so you can’t hear it in its glory
I just started using Instagram, I'll post race photos there instagram.com/lankyturtleracing/
Haven't been so excited about a new race car in...well, it's been a while. That sound stirs the soul.
The exhaust sound and transmission whine give me goosebumps.
I really miss the Ford GT's. One of the beautiful cars out there
Makes you wonder how they can decide to go racing but not show up with the GT.
If only the corvette had a deeper rumble like the previous generations. This mustang sounds pretty good in my opinion
a bit flat; no real ups or downs.
GT3 cars are mandated by the SRO regulations to run catalytic converters. That’s why they sound weak compared to the old GTE cars

Jack Roush, correct?
That intake sound is incredible
this is going to be such a great year of racing!
Good to see Ford back on the grid. 👍
Jesus ...!!!! the thickness of the front brake pads.. Holy shit!
They've gotta last at least 12 hours of abuse haha. I think they change pads once during the race
It was nice to meet you at the track today! Keep up the great work!
Good meeting you too Tomaz!
Stoked to see these Mustangs out there...
Thank you Lanky , for putting this together... awesome as always !!!
Thanks Dave!
That’s a sweet sounding race car

Good news, they're running the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year
the last Stang to run a Daytona 24 was the Saleen SR Widebody?
Rick Ware Racing built an S197 for GT3 in the 2012 season, though I didn't exactly hear any 'flattering' accounts of its build quality though
The Mustang GT3 looks beastly
Automobiles racing best underrated reporter. 🐢
Dam that GT3 looking real good :) Want to see it in person next weekend.

I don't think you'll see an unclassified Camaro at LeMans in 2024.
@@DWH300 Cameo. As in a special guest appearance. Not Camaro.
I thought the thumbnail was a meme until I realised that dude was ACTUALLY there lmao
Yeah it was an auto thumbnail youtube picked. It made it look like a Mr. Beast thumbnail haha
Wow! Yay Ford! Let's see it run! Thanks, LT!
I’ve Always been a Chevy fan especially when it comes to Motorsports , but I hope they do really well ! Car sounds badass by the way !
Thanks for these videos from Florida. Beautiful images of the IMSA races 🏁 and NASA lauches 🚀 Ciao, grazie from Italy🍀🏁❤️
Thanks Yuri!
That's an awesome looking and sounding car... can't wait to see how it runs. Hopefully Ford has the balls to keep the engine in the front

Imagine if they RnD the Voodoo some more and get that high RPM flat plane crank some more love.
I'm with you. I was waiting for that sound and then realized it sounded like NASCAR.
Gotta love the sound of a *V8 MODUR*
The Mustang is more of Mans Man machine than the whispering sound of the C8 Vette..
Beautiful sound ❤
Sounds great but definitely wouldve preferred to see the GT back in racing
Amazing sound, is really impressive
As a Corvette fan, they should’ve done this in terms of engine sounds.
Excited to see the Mustang’s run in IMSA!
It has to follow some regulations that why it is sounding like that

Thanks lanky, if is possible make some movie with the new Aston Martin 🇺🇲🇵🇹💪

I havnt seen Joey Hand in a race car since Ford ended the Ford GT program.
He hasn't been. It's so great to see him back!
Ford Coyote V8😍😍
Badass!
Sorry for newb question but whats the diff between green and red number backgrounds? THanks for posting!
It denotes the class: red being GTD Pro and green being the more customer-focused GTD.

Pretty much a stroked coyote. I have a 900wheel supercharged Boss motor in my 11 5.0. 900wheel at 8k rpm on e85 is symphony.
Damn that motor is mounted to the floor lol
Its tucked down in there for sure

Would be fun to see them at the Nürburgring 24 Hours... lol... na, not gonna happen... i hope for Bathurst at least.
When are they gonna have this car in gran turismo 7
Is that Miguel Molina in the thumbnail 😂
Yes! He was walking by haha

Is the mustang gt3 louder than the amg gt3 ?
It soods quite good. Not GT3 R good but good.

Nothing like the sound of an unbridled American V8
Now, how about a Ford entry into LMDh/LMH? Gotta beat those Ferraris at Le Mans
Funny, sounds like the nascar cup cars, is ford salty about the g56 entry?
They wouldn’t be because they’ve already been running cars that sound like this since 2022 in the NASCAR Cup Series.
