    You do a lot of things i🎉n a short time. And you do look like you are enjoying yourself each time. Your bike is so nice and looks comfy. I would boil my water to have tea or hot chocolate and Ramen noodles with a splash of pepper. Thanks Wendy.

    What a gorgeous place! It was nice to meet Bob, too. Enjoyed your Solo stove demonstration, quite nifty. And may I add how impressed I am that you can bend your knees and stay in that position for so long. Good for you! I loved bear sighting along your great bike ride. Many thanks for another wonderful video. Peace~

      thanks for watching. I enjoy my bike but don't really use it enough as I prefer hiking. Great to have though for those longer distances for sure.

    I am really enjoying your videos. We used to live in the Monterey Bay area in CA. Now we live on the Big Island of Hawaii. I miss the mts. and just being able to jump in the Truck and go for a long drive to anywhere in California to camp or in my later years, staying in a cabin or lodge. Thank you so much for sharing, it helps with my home sickness. Warm Alohas, Marsha and Jim

      Hi Marsha and Jim- funny how we miss certain things. Many of us would think Hawaii is the ultimate. Guess we should be thankful for what we have. I have been to the Big Island a few times and would like to go back- Travel and accommodation these days is $$$ so we will see. I loved the beaches the snorkelling and seeing the dolphins. Plus being warn in winter was ok too!!

    Love that area. We were out there back in the 70's and you could just drive out on the beach and camp. It has changed quite a bit since then. Glad you got the sun as there is no place like it when the sun shines. We hope to go in Nov. and bike that trail.

    Instead of investing in buying a wind shield for your stove, take a tip from me, thiscis what i do. I use a strip of heavy duty tin foil and three or more sticks. Arc it around the fire and itll work in any weather.

      thanks Dennis- in the end that is just what I ended up doing. Didnt want any more weight and I found it worked quite well. Great Minds!!!

    Nice video. I have a little solo stove and usually just pick up the dead branches off the forest floor, but it might be a bit drier here. Driftwood looks like a pain.

    • @wendyoutdoors2230
      @wendyoutdoors2230  5 місяців тому

      The temperate rain forest weather keeps things fairly damp most of the year although that is changing with the changing weather patterns. Sometimes I dig around under the big logs for tiny bit that are drier. I find I do better using fire starter too.

    What a beautiful beach. I love the tree shelter you used. Nice to meet Bob! What is the warmest that water gets? Have you ever checked out firebox stove on youtube? The guy markets his own design and makes videos about the multitude of cooking methods he uses. It's also fun to see him take his goats and dogs to some of the most gorgeous hidden gems in Utah.

    • @wendyoutdoors2230

      Thanks for the suggestion. I will check out that stove. The water is not warm. Surfers all wear wet suits . Not sure of the temp🥶
