I'm getting p0420 on 2001 Silverado. After using this won't the cat eventually clog up completely and cause a rough running engine? Just trying to make sure I don't damage anything worse.
We don’t do smog testing in my state and they aren’t to strict especially the guy I go to but I do need cats in there if I have gutted cats this would get rid of engine light and is a permanent fix??

This is basically illegal in all 50 states even though people do it every day LOL
its not illegal since you are not bypassing any actual emission equipment. all the sensor monitors is weather the cat is working. you will still either pass or fail an emission test. this is a good fix for an intermittent code. it does not "fix" a bad converter.
I have a 2004 highlander with a 6 cylinder. Which extender should I buy?
That is a good temporary fix but there are some states to pass emissions for state inspection that would be illegal and would fail inspection. And being that I'm in North Carolina it would fail here. I will say this is fantastic information and I thank you very much for the time and effort that you put into your videos.

@@FlatRateMechanic yeah the expert garage said my cat was clogged. keep in mind my car had NO CODES. but it has this lack of power not wanting to get up and go... anyway the guy said i need a new cat. said it was clogged. he put on an aftermarket cat, and viola. a day cycle later it tosses the po420 code. scanner Danner says those impalas, 2008 chevy. need OEM cats. so my original issue is still there but now i have this cat code . ugh. another garage had my car a week. they had No solution.
