They went full CGI for this MV to reduce the use of unrecycleable props...even the dance sequence scene in the chorus is made of XR (Extended Reality) technology, which is why the background buildings moving & wobble, it follow the live camera movement, it's like Virtual Reality VR & Augmented Reality AR combined into one. Although not all fans of CGI effect in kpop MV, their effort to create an eco-friendly MV is still there.
"Maison" is part 1 of the Apocalypse trilogy. Dreamcatcher are touching on a very important subject here. Maison is French for "house" or rather "home", and they are singing about everyone's home, which is our planet. Previously they talked about online hate, now they are tackling an issue that impacts the whole planet and therefore everyone. Climate change is going to affect all of us, and it is already affecting many people. Island Nations will disappear under the ocean ("Save my home in the ocean"). Ice melts in the arctic and displaces people ("Save my home in the polar"). Forests get decimated by corporate greed and habitats get destroyed ("Save my home in the jungle") and disappearing glaciers and snow packs result in even less water for deserts ("Save my home in the desert").
People have a natural tendency to ignore issues that seem to be in the future - but climate change is here, right now. We can't wait anymore, and it is good that Dreamcatcher use their platform to promote change: "Break your habit now!"
Musically I really enjoy the song. Like in BEcause, the rock/metal vibe is dialed back a bit, but it is still there and highly distorted. Although the more I listen to it, the more Rock I hear. I especially like how the pre-chorus and chorus seems to appear out of nowhere, the chord progression in the bridge, and the epic end part. The bass line is crazy as well. LEEZ and Ollounder (their producers) have done it again, and the members are just brilliant. Respect!

Maison was different enough that it won them their first award on a music show after 5 years of struggle. Rock isn't popular in Korea the way it is in Japan so going a little more EDM and with an environmental theme got them more attention from mainstream Kpop fans, and two wins on The Show. They also won for Bon Voyage, the third song in the trilogy, so the change has worked well for them.
Dreamcatcher is currently on a concert tour in europe. Can't wait to see them live!

first all cgi mv from dreamcatcher since there's a lot of waste with sets a lot of which aren't reused. the apocalypse trilogy is basically addressing mankind's destructive nature. there's a lot of corporate imagery and the use of industrial rock to fit the theme.
I'm probably missing an annotation again, and you guys probably did figure it out, but, in case you guys didn't, "Maison" is indeed about the environment. It was the first part of the Apocalypse trilogy. "Vision" is the second part, and then "Bon Voyage" is the last part.
Yeah, what you'll realize with Dreamcatcher is that their signature is simply combining pop/kpop and rock elements. But, beyond that, they're not locked into any specific sound. They've really explored like every rock subgenre and several pop subgenres as well. And every era sounds different as well. Like the Dystopia trilogy is pretty distinctive for the EDM elements and Theo, you're right, Apocalypse is distinctive for that distinctive electronic electronic. Songs within those eras sound similar, but the Dystopia trilogy sounds nothing like the Apocalypse trilogy. That's kinda how it's been going. Already, whatever this new 2-part series with "OOTD" is sounds completely unlike anything they've done so far...

Hopefully you will do VISION next as that's the next song in the trilogy. I was crying watching this, especially when Siyeon said "pretending not to know/ you disappear too" like eventho they deny climate change is a thing, it IS happening and we'll all be gone soon. It's very grim, but we fight a bit in VISION and Mother Nature comes out victorious in BONVOYAGE 🥹🌎💔 our substantive queens always talking about subjects that matter 🙏 This should be The Earth Day Anthem.
If you want a different sound from Dreamcatcher, you should try Black or White, July 7th, Shatter, Wonderland, Jazz Bar, In the Frozen, Polaris, Red Sun, etc. If you want other non title tracks that should-be-title tracks, try Curse of the Spider, Sahara, Tension (English version), Wind Blows, Reason, Break the Wall, Wake Up, Mayday, Fairytale, Full Moon, etc.
