Dude, the only Dominions I played was like 10 or so hours of Dominions 5 and only in Single Player, where I was horrible. Seeing these random videos that have nothing to do with me anymore made me buy Dominions 6, and now I'm looking for a community to get to learn the game.

I see that you can't really find any except for on Discord, the Nexus seems like the place to go if you want to suddenly get banned for no reason, so I guess Clockwork Hounds it is. Would you advise for me to just find a group that accepts newbies and get blasted in MP until I learn the game?
@@JustASuscriber Yes! And I know that might sound painful and horrible, but its not! If you jump into ONLY newbie games, you might just get blasted over and over, but if you learn through repetition: this'll work. That being said, if you occasionally hop into medium level games, odds are you'll find somebody who crushes you. And then, if you reach out (through in game diplomacy OR out) and ask how they did it: most players are more than happy to walk you through what they see and how they did it. At least players like myself are! In the meantime, join games: watch a video and test out exactly what's done in that video. Then figure out the issues/where you're losing, and let me know! Maybe its expansion? Maybe its mid-game research goals? Once you've isolated the problem, a lot of us can help you through the difficult spots!
Ah you beat me to it! Great video! Some really good points all throughout. One thing I will say is remember that your big summons and sacreds are size 6 so they can share a square with your littler pale ones or summons, which can make them last a little bit longer by sharing some hits, but other than that great job!

@@TheWayOfPencil Oh I could've sworn (at least from Dom 5) that they appeared in the order that they showed on the army setup screen (and mages cast from top to bottom etc), did they change that in Dom 6? But you aren't wrong about these big ol' hippos mixing it up as soon as the fight starts hahaha, they start belly bashing immediately :P
Thank you for these guides! As a terrible single-player player who’s never programmed a mage despite some few thousand hours across Dominions 4-6, they are really useful in order to actually learn how to play this game. Agartha is a nation I keep coming back to for their lore - I feel quite sorry for these odd, chunky, prescient hippos - but they are certainly a challenge if you have no clue about what you are doing like me.
Oh my gosh, thank you! I love hearing feedback like this, it really gets me going! I'm glad that it helps! Dominions 6 is much like games like Path of Exile, and similar, just in the way that its SO daunting to begin to learn. I've switched my methodology for videos for future videos now to be put into "beginner" style videos, and "advanced with a multiplayer focus" videos, so hopefully once I get them designed like that, you'll be able to poke through exactly what you feel comfortable with a nation, and find a video to suit you! I would watch that 3 hour super in depth breakdown. I'm really new to this game and appreciate learning about all the acronyms and lingo that this game carries.

Great video, I appreciate the content. One thing I want to elaborate: the new sticks and stones is a bigger deal I think than you discuss. First, it gives Agartha a way to better clear tribes, barbarians, and lizards in expansion since those all are vulnerable to ranged Second, it scales 1:1 with strength so strength buffs (easy for your nation to do) bring them to two 13 dmg attacks which is as good as short bow on humans (accounting for differences with pierce type) Third, it is on disciplined troops unlike Pyrene, so they can be given order to hold and fire close and they will stand behind line of bigger size 6 instead of running all over Finally, the fire Oracle that randoms 2F can give them flaming arrows at Enchant 5 which was out of reach for them in Dom 5, and might be reason to give your sacreds 5-10FR bless
Definitely agree! Very important for chucking rocks, but I didn't feel the cost outweighed the weaknesses/vulnerabilities at least for my expansion. You might feel differently! Let me know the ways you maximize the usage of them, to get the best cost benefit out of them, as I feel like there is definitely some magic to be had, I just haven't worked it out yet! Great video. EA Agartha is one of those nations I keep coming back to, and in Dom6 it seems they've only gotten better. My current pretender tends to be either a low path dormant monolith or giant crystal as I go for an Olm strat now that the underground has a lot of places you can recruit them from. Reinvig and Magic Pen/Heroism makes them great expanders with the chaffiest frontline and the changes to Mindblast are felt. Keep the vids coming 👍
Yep! Definitely stronger in a lot of ways, but you have to remember to change your habits with summoning. Back in the day we could summon SO many darn magma children, I half the time used them as my entire front line (haha), but now its a little less cost effective, whereas living mercuries and earth elementals (barathrus pact) are way MORE efficient, so the best balance we still gotta work out ;) Thank you so much for the comment and feedback!
Right?! These chonky chonkies are hilarious and fun to play, and yet still so effective! A truly "alien" race, in terms of no humanoids, or normal "elf/dwarf" species, so it feels really unique and neat to play them! Thanks so much for the feedback and comment!

I hooe your channel grows, you have a pretty unique way to go about it compared to most other channels and it's cool that you don't just deal in hypotheticals or stick to general strategy, but instead get into a game and show clear examples of some pretty cool stuff in action. It motivates you to try factions you wouldn't have considered before.

Darkness, storm, anything that lowers precision even further. In the end: the only way to really counter powerful spells in dominions 6 is to: 1. Ensure they suffer MORE than you do 2. Ensure that you interrupt the spellcasting 3. Counteract with a powerful spell of your own 4. Bait the spell out with "bait" armies (i.e. small armies to use up resources) In terms of Gifts of Heaven, its often really nice to bait them out, but fliers work AMAZING against Gifts of Heaven, as you watch your opponent start spamming them on their own mage line. Darkness makes the precision SO bad on them that they often just whiff entirely, or at least are much more likely to hit themselves. That would be my recommendation. In addition, various counters exist. Against human mages spamming GoH, try "Rain of Stones" and thump their skulls with rocks until they quit it. In truth, there are plenty of "counters"... sort of, but none are perfect. Very rarely is a powerful spell easily just "blocked". Instead, try to minimize losses by using SMALL armies in sparse line formations, and if possible fly to the rear and get them to kill themselves. You'd be surprised how effective this is. And again: thanks for the comment and question!

@@AOReaper I believe order of units in the same squad doesn't matter. They mix up at the start of combat anyway.

Various ones. They have a lot out there, Midjourney, Dall e 3, all sorts of em. I've had mixed results with different ones, but I'd try a few!
