2021 Mitsubishi Mirage SE After Upgrades

- Well I just about got everything done to my new Mirage. Added the black mirror caps, Mirage side decals, color keyed bodyside moldings, chrome trunk molding, chrome exhaust tip, and a few more things.
Inside I added several things too like all weather mats, red interior trim kit, console bin, led int/ext lights (dome, cargo, license plate bulbs), scuff guards, red start button, carpeted cargo mat, cargo net, and more.
I take it tomorrow to have the windows professionally tinted, cant wait. These new 2021 Mirages look awesome in the SE trim with the bigger 15” black and silver wheels, led headlights/DRLs and the body kit make it genuinely sporty looking. Now of course it is not fast, nor sporty nor is it meant to be. However the 3 cylinder engine and the sounds it makes alone makes it a blast to drive lol.

Thank you I appreciate you saying that. I sure do love it and for a Mirage I think it looks pretty sporty. Love it in the Infrared color with the color matched oem body kit with simulated carbon fiber trim and red striping it really dresses it up and looks sharp with the 2 tone alloys.

I love the GT trim. What color is your GT. I like how it has the Bi-Xenon Headlights that look like mine with the projector bulb, looks upscale. These are great cars. I have had 3 Mirages now and have never bought the same new car twice until the Mirages lol so that tells ya sumin.
Since 2001 I have owned quite a few new cars such as a 2002 kia rio base, 2003 hyundai accent gt, 2005 chevy cavalier ls, 2008 hyundai sonata gls, 2010 kia soul exclaim, 2013 hyundai elantra gls (worst car I owned), 2015 mitsubishi mirage es, 2016 mitsubishi outlander sport gt, 2017 mitsubishi mirage g4 se, two 2019 mitsubishi eclipse cross sel tourings and now this 2021 mitsubishi mirage se. I love the Mirages!!!
I always buy new and always wanted sumin different each time until the Mirage.

Thank you! Honest to god the seats are what I loved the most, they look very upscale and unique for such a small car. Are very well made too with thick durable fabric and leatherette type material.
Plus I am glad the SE has Forward Collision Mitigation With Auto Brake (3mph to 50mph will apply brakes) and Pedestrian Detection With Auto Brake (3mph to 40mph will brakes), Lane Departure Warning (works above 37mph) and Auto High Beams.
Wow your 21 SE looks amazing! The wheels, the Infrared color, the added aero pieces, and those mirror caps just makes the Mirage look much more sporty!
I'm currently driving a manual 15 DE but would like a manual 21/22 ES. I just wish the manual transmission had the extra bells and whistles the upper automatic trims get. I prefer driving a manual Mirage, but wow this SE looks great inside and out!
Thank you! The upgrades to this 2021 Mirage SE inside and out really make a visual difference and touch point difference inside! I mainly wanted a Mirage again when I saw the plaid seats I was sold lol. This is my 3rd one! They are great cars. So glad you like yours. For 2022 they added a visor mirror to passenger sun-visor even on base ES trim, added auto headlights to the new BE trim and SE trim, added welcome exterior lighting at night, also rain sensing wipers to BE and SE. i love this SE trim. Your Mirage looks so good! Congrats on the new ride. The facelift, machined alloy wheels, and plaid upholstery of the SE trim really modernizes and upgrades the appearance compared to past Mirages. I'm considering getting a new SE next year. I loved my 2014 ES in Kiwi Green that I affectionately named Kermit.
Thank you I appreciate that! Yes this new SE really takes it to another level for a Mirage. Also the fabric on the front door panels and front door arm rests makes it feel nicer. My favorite part though is the plaid seats lol. Haha perfect name for it, i had to go back to a Mirage I missed my other ones to much.
@@kmckenzie2461 The only Mirage I've driven was my 2014. I've heard Mitsubishi made a lot of little improvements to the Mirage since then, so I'm looking forward to a test drive next year. Hopefully, pandemic crazy prices will be lower then.
@@palebeachbum Yea compared to my 2015 Mirage and even my 2017 Mirage G4 which had updates that year this 2021 Mirage SE is much nicer than both and I have noticed many different little additions and changes to this one.
@@kmckenzie2461 compared to your 2015, does the ride quality and handling feel different? How about the CVT?
@@palebeachbum compared to my 2015 yes definitely different. Now compared to my 2017 not as much. The 2015 definitely had a more wallowing ride and you heard more suspension and shock absorber noise. Also the engine sounds and feels more smooth and refined over the 2015. Handling is definitely more secure feeling than the 2015 but still has that wallowing sway to but just more toned down and more controlled. Now compared to my 2017 Mirage G4 this 2021 Mirage SE feels similar besides the upgrades with like the premium feeling seats, the cloth on the doors and door armrests, better led headlights and taillights, much better touchscreen and back up camera quality and so one. But overall there is a noticeable difference between a 2015 and this yes. Also due to little changes with like front fender insulation blocks and a few other minor mods I noticed to improve things.

I rented one of these recently for 8 days and I didn't think it would even have an anti-skidding feature. Maybe that's why the steering wheel wandered a bit at freeway speeds. Maybe if I had it on it wouldn't have. Other than that it was easy to drive and park due to its size and no other complaints. I have not driven it in snow so cannot comment on that aspect of it. But it handled rain just fine. I know it's labeled as an all weather car but my only concern would be with snow. Maybe snow tires would become necessary sometimes? or maybe not.

@@rufusnotts1972 no way did you! Thats awesome! The dealer stocks getting low on them. I just got my windows tinted today at 20%, so much better and less bright in the car!!! Do you love your G4. Does yours have the center console in it the armrest one? I bought it for this one and found out when you take the fold down arm rest off the cap does not cover the hole as a metal piece sticks out of the seat that supports the fold down arm rest and the arm rest cap is inside so not what ai thought. But if you are wanting the factory console armrest and yours dont already have it I can ship it to you to have. I love the fold down arm rest mine has but liked the one with storage better. Brand new in box.
@@kmckenzie2461 man I appreciate the gesture but mine had the armrest added in and I love it, more than I should lol. My 19 mirage hatch didn’t have one so there was no storage space really at all. The g4 is black and I got the all weather Mitsubishi mats
@@rufusnotts1972 no problem! dont you just love it. Its a great little add on especially if you didnt have one before! I notice at five Star Mitsubishi they add it on alot of their es, le and ce models already cause people want it.

You dont need one of the factory Mirage arm rest consoles do ya? Brand new. I cant use it cause the way the seats designed when the seat fold down arm rest comes off you cant do what I thought you could with it. You may already have one. I installed them on my 2015 and 2017, its new in box if ya want it il ship it to ya not looking for anything for it just hate it sitting around not being used.

Have you ever bought the Rockford Fosgate upgrade for the Mirage radio and installed it? I saw it when browsing the Mitsubishi parts website, but I'm not sure exactly what it is. The product photo is a picture of the spare tire in the trunk.
No I have not. I was thinking about getting it in this and almost ordered in the other day but I compared my friends 2019 Mirage G4 SE that came with the Rockford Fosgate option from factory to mine just the other day side by side and song by song and testing settings and I could barley tell a difference accept when it was up high then the bass thumped slightly more clearly. But not a huge enough difference for me to want to install it as the sound is pretty good for me on mine. Its a neat kit though for the Mirage and is custom its cool. Who knows maybe in the future lol.
In the Mirage G4 it is built in under the trunk mat around the spare tire (neat) and in the hatchback its in a long enclosure in the hatch against the rear seats.

How did you mount the rear license plate? What kind of bracket did you use? I just bought a 2022 Mirage Hatchback (Black Edition), there is no reinforcement behind the rear bumper
Well mine just screwed into the holes tightly that were there. I think there are like plastic type tabs back inside the holes for the screws to grip into. When I put my license plate from on a d new screws and took dealer temp tag off it just screwed right in and tightened till it couldn’t tighten anymore.

It was EBAY. Now just make sure you order the correct ones by checking the seller picture and description to see if it has the built in space for the mirror turn signals or not depending on what trim you have. They are an OEM Mitsubishi part. You can get them individually or as a set. Here is a link to one and when you are on the page scroll down and you will see all the other listings for them below.

Yes it would! Look up the Mitsubishi Mirage Cross or Mitsubishi Space Star Cross that is made in other countries its neat as it has body cladding and roof rails to look like a lil SUV! I like it and wish they made them here.

You cant go wrong with a Mirage. This is my 3rd one (2015 Mirage ES, 2017 Mirage G4 SE, 2021 Mirage SE) and they are great cars. No issues. My friend Kay has also owned 3 now (2015 Mirage ES, 2019 Mirage G4 SE, 2021 Mirage G4 SE) and will not buy any other car either.

EBAY. Just type 1.2L Emblem and it will come up there are 2 kinds.
