I love these small channel reviews. I trust the reviews these kind of channels put out and honestly really helped me make up my mind on buying a black max combo
Chaz Surrett it’s pretty good actually. I still have it in good condition. I have it in rotation with a few other rods. 2 bait caster & 2 spinning reels.
Okay but like the way this review was done is absolutely amazing, it was so thorough and my god have I never felt better and more secure with a purchase.
I started with a Black Max baitcast combo. The rod had issues with losing guide rings within a month or so. The reel was so good that I now have at least 3, maybe 4 of them, gen1 to gen 3. Caught many, many stripers and largemouth on all of them. They're all still going strong after years of use. They perform right along side my Revo SX, Shimano SlX, and Lew's. Can't be beat for the money.
The Garcia Black Max was my first bait caster and I really do recommend it personally. I'm up in northern Utah and the ice has finally, for the most part, all melted out. And after an entire winter of using spinning reels and going nuts with stupid trout fishing, I finally got to bust it out about 2 weeks ago. Apparently, I left it with a little (BIG ASS) birds nest, with braided line. Took only a few minutes to get it out and 0 problems since. I give it a definite vote yes. Also, first time seeing your channel. Love the father/son thing. Definitely will be checking your guys stuff out. 👍👍 Great video
Agreed. It was all I used before we started the channel. Then I started using Revo's. Still give it regular playing time though. Thanks for watching. -B

No abu García reviewers mention that the horizontal caster it’s a Pain in the butt to cast since it’s very tough to regulate the cast and the spinning of the drum . So if you do not do it right you get a hell of a tangle every time you cast.
That's every baitcaster, it has nothing to do with the brand but how you're casting. It sounds like this may be your first rod or you may not have a lot of experience, spinning reels are most everyone's goto unless you want to be accurate. I short cast a lot into dodgy areas off my kayak so I like the responsiveness I get from it. I'd recommend tightening the drop speed and maybe even using heavier line, less prone to backlash.
Mmmm... confession time... it's not always gently, but we never try to throw them farther than Patrick Mahomes can sling a football... Thanks for watching!

I just really started fishing is this rod for saltwater too and you just let the bait sit and wait for a fish with this rod like i do with my other rods or is a one where you keep moving the bait
You can definitely use this combo for saltwater fishing-especially for inshore. Just a good idea to rinse under a hose after each use so the salt doesn't corrode your reel. Depends on what you're fishing for but for the most part you can use either method with this rod/reel combo. -T
