I have been running the Equinox for 3 years, but always pay attention to your videos. I nail test as well, but I'm gonna go back and reinvestigate Park 2. Great vid Mike
A quality tutorial Mike. So many folks will get great peace of mind after listening and watching these tests; confidence too. Peace of mind and quiet confidence in any quality tool can breed success. The only other ingredient required is fathomless patience, and adaptability, which can be found sometimes 'lacking' with some end-users:It's not 'Turn on and go'..😉 Your quiet mannerisms and thorough presentation reminds me a lot of Keith. Especially the back-yard test pad scenarios. Top man.

Awesome vid. Thank-you. Great teaching/learning moment for me. Be interesting to compare with the smaller coils. Bottom line should be good site, dig everything and see what the iron might be hiding.
If you have time might I suggest the same demonstration using other common things we would find in our parks and beaches. Bottle caps, pull tabs, can slaw etc. Keep up the good work!
Good video between the 3. I run a 600. And I had some good luck with park 1 and at 10 kHz. But hey I’m trying different settings to see what works best for me also. It’s a big learning curve all around. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah, I always run my D2 at discrimination of 3 (or less on some hammered sites, as the vdi can drop as low as 0 when thin coins are next to iron. My Eco program uses a discrimination of -6.4 and works lovely in iron). Thank you for clarifying the misinformation out there. Cheers
Thank you so much for this. I posted a video of my own on a D2 Facebook group about the nail test took a real pounding for it. Now at least I know I’m not crazy and I better understand what’s going on.
what does it mean, even when you hit the target? When the dime is in the ground, all you know is the readout says 8 (say on the Legend), so do you dig it? (a silver dime by itself would read much much higher).
@@IffySignals yes , true. I don't own a digital readout ID machine, I go by sound on my 3 tone machine (old), and find all these digital numerical VDI useless, as it doesn't tell me anything when the target is underground, and just as inaccurate, LOL
After using all three for a while and sales going on closer to Christmas. Which would you choose. I’m coming from a vanquish 540. I’m wanting better target separation and more depth. I detect home sites and fields for relics and coins. Tough question I know. I lean towards the XP Deus 2 but the price of the nokta legend is tempting.
Hey Aaron, if you can hang out a little longer the manticore is awesome. XP over the Legend though. You have the ability to mask large iron with the XP 2.
@@IffySignals yeah, I was thinking of waiting to see more reviews on the Manticore. My season is almost up here in NW Illinois. Thanks for the speedy reply.
Do you recommend the Nokta Legend or Deus 2? Which one is better? I heard the Nox 800 is very similar to the Nokta Legend. Nokta has better construction and parts. Please help.
Deus 2, Equinox and Legend are all great. I am a relic hunter so i like machines that will eliminate big iron when needed. The legend does not have this feature yet so my go to machines are the Nox and Deus 2. I lean towards the Deus 2 right now because i can dive deep with it.
Sure will. Even 6 makes the machine noisy. Some stuff like minerals, tiny iron ect.. that the Nox and Deus have negative numbers for are in the Legends 0-5 range. Its a trade off. How much can you stand to hear and dig. Thats why these factory presets are made on all machines for a pleasant hunt but able to modify to get the most out of it.. thats why Nokta Makro wanted to stay away from an “iron bias” filter. More things to tinker with to pull targets but can impact what your hearing/digging thus also causing a negative experience if used wrong.
THIS is what it`s all about. adjusting your machine . personally i run my D2 as wide open as i can. often relic mode . disciar 5 with notch 00-00 . it works so well
Grate video, not knocking this in any way, and I know your not doing a comparison per say but it would have been interesting to see the Deus 2 with the 11" as per the other two machines
Thanks. I have never been a fan of full tones. I like it simple and use a modified 5 tone program. Pitch is great as well. The Legend recovery range works well 5-8 as long as you drop the tone break to 6-7. Recovery 9-10 seem a little choppy.
That s awesome bud I enjoy your content like wen you and your dad MD together great luck in the future thankyou for the truth and no bs have legend and nox deus 2 is next lol👊
Silencer 0 still gives a low VDI i tried it in this video. Have not tried turning iron volume off. I would never hunt with iron volume off. Thx for the tips 👍
deus 2 this is ok of the coin and nail are laid on teh surface at 2" now if they are down at 4 or 5" then its even harder again not to mention the iron starts to false once its deeper so its not as clear with the discrim and iron tone then everything in the area starts giving a good tone
I have to admit that over the years I have become more lazy and unless I am in a field or park with barely any signals I would not have dug those because of the low vdi numbers. I want something that can unmask and give me the proper vdi of the silver coin or whatever else I am looking for.
