I’m outside of Pittsburgh and we got some snow but now we’re going to warm up and rain. Glad to see you again! Scrapple….I think I call it mush. I love it with butter and maple syrup. My husbands folks said it had everything but the squeal in it!

It's so cold in west TN. Current temps this Friday evening is at 16 degrees and they are predicting a wind chill of 0 by morning. We had snow and some ice on the ground all week. Too cold for us!

So great to see an update but family definitely comes first! We make cornmeal mush that's just cornmeal based but doesn't have the sausage in it. Dip it in flour, fry up & eat it with maple syrup.

12 degrees here in SOUTH Alabama a mile from the Florida line this week! I like the cold but the wet cold that we get is miserable! Freezing pipes and icy roads are not my cup of tea! We don't have the preparedness like up north does for those conditions!
Scrapple is the very very best. We have a local little meat market about 20 minutes from us here in Arkansas that sells scrapple. Such a blessing. It is so good. When we lived in Kansas, I made it for our family out of desperation. We even have a local store that sells Seltzer Lebanon Bologna. So great.

Hi-I am from Philly....well Bucks County PA and grew up eating scrapple however I live in Maryland now and scrapple here is something you either know and love or never heard of and stick your nose up at-but some farmers make it and it is in some grocery stores here :) Love your videos

Scrapple sounds alot like Livermush (it is a North Carolina thing). You can slice and eat it cold or as we prefer fry it. Goes great with eggs or eat on toast with mustard. When I saw yours it reminded me of our livermush. Loved the video and Happy New Year.
I love watching your videos and seeing all of your adventures. In my family, our scrapple was sliced thin so it was nice and crispy when it was fried up. You either like it thick or thin. 😊
We like ours crispy too! It just takes longer but then it's a little soft on the inside 😀
Cold snap!!! 14 plus 2 inches of snow. Then -14 below for a temp. Yes this is Iowa!! Plus my husband and I got Covid. We went 4 years clear. Then bam! It was bad. we are in our 70's so not fun. My husband didn't snap back fast. So things are slow here. Oh well it is dark at 4pm . Spring come on in!!! Joyce

One snowy day we had scrapple, eggs and sourdough bread for breakfast. Yum! As a busy mom you are wise to have margin in your days.
I've never heard of scrapple till I started watching The Hollar Homestead. In their newest video Meg makes scrapple. They gave 2 pig butchering classes recently and she's using all the by products to make stock, rendering fat etc.

What in the world is scrapple?? At first I thought he was slicing bread then I thought cheese.
I googled scrapple and I was amazed. Never heard of it before. I live in W.V. not that far from Pennsylvania but don't know anyone in my area that eats it. Funny how we eat differently in different states. My cousin in Dallas was recently telling me she was making black-eyed peas and I told her I had never tasted them and she was shocked. She said it must be a southern food and I looked them up and was surprised to find out that they are really a bean.
Yes it does seem to very much be a PA food. It's one of those foods you either love or hate 😀 you should try it sometime. John F. Martin brand carries a good one
