I really want to get hold of the Showgirls 4k and The Bogey Man, i saw that movie on VHS and i remember watching it on an afternoon 😅. Last package i got from them had Virgin High double movie and Doll Squad which also has two movies

I'm almost ashamed to admit how many VS titles I've bought recently. Almost. I'll always probably prefer the studio classics, and you'll pry my Criterions from my cold dead hands. But no label has ever reaffirmed my love of grindhouse and the offbeat like VS.
Ive only had my copy of Showgirls for a day and my 4k disc of Showgirls doesnt work. I know a replacement program is in the works but i cant even enjoy my defective copy until the replacement disc arrives.

The Cellar is great - The Bees is crazy - Bogeyman is great and I have to double dip for the uhd. Nighttrain To Terror slip is available on teh points system
You may be a little disappointed to find that Night Train to Terror isn't a slasher movie, but an anthology movie, and the bonus feature is an original feature that was cut down for one of the segments. A pretty bonkers movie though, so not a bad pick up. The tie in segments are the best part that actually take place on the train, including a very 80s music video slapped in there.
I understand what you're video is about. I have a question for you about a player from the past. I bought a HD-DVD player. It works fine playing DVD's and they play and look fine. So I tried playing an HD-DVD movie. Again it played the previews fine in great quality? But when it got to the movie? It put an error message saying it couldn't play the movie. So I thought? Maybe the movie was bad so I bought an unopened copy from eBay? And it still have the same error? So do you have any idea? What could be causing it?
@@bened22 Thanks I am glad it's not the machine. I read in the video help forum that even if you your were able to get the software upgrade disk it wouldn't solve the problem. They also said that warner brothers HD-DVD'S have a freezing problem.
Regarding you project on hidden gems of horror, have you ever seen Mute Witness? It is a very low-budget film, that surprises you. It actually has a cameo from Alex Guiness, which I think was his last film.
I picked up that Televised Terror set last year. I hope they do a volume 2 at some point. One of their partner labels has a similar set called Primetime Panic that's equally great.
A Blade In The Dark is a giallo by Lamberto Bava it's O.K. The Boogeyman begins like a slasher but turns into a supernatural thriller. I buy a lot from Vinegar Syndrome as much as possible. Good showing and cool video bro!👉😃👈

Hey Jeff. WIll you be gettting the Messiah of Evil Limited Edition Bluray? I think the distributor is Radiance. It's a somewhat obscure horror gem that did have a very limited bluray release.
Niiiiice, good pickups, Jeff! It's interesting, I feel like horror is one genre that nearly all collectors are into, but it's never been a favorite of mine. But I still love VS as my destination for straight to VHS action schlock! I think I dropped about $120 on their sale, got Undefeatable, Bullets Over Summer, Red Sun Rising, Justice - Ninja Style and Ninja in the Claws of the CIA. Their sales are always fantastic.
Big fan of 80's/90's horror, more in the zombie / creature feature genres. We've had such a vacuum for the last decade+, that I'm looking back at classic movies from the 1940's and 50's, modern Japan and S Korea film, and indie from a local film fest. I'll collect new physical media as long as I can, even if I'm like someone in the late 90's hunting for Laser Disc.
A lot of titles I've never heard of, picked up Ticks, Freeway & Beyond Terror all 4K for about £80. Got to love VS. Shout & Kino don't ship to the U.K but these guys do 10/10. Another great vid Jeff. 👏👏👏👏👍

Well, Night Train To Terror is kind of made up of three lost unreleased movies edited together (only one unedited movie out of three survived on its own actually, other two unedited are lost probably). It does work in a strange surreal dream like way. It's bizarre, somehow slasher, somehow not. It's been many years last time I watched it. Kind of like Twilight Zone and Tales From the Crypt mixed together somehow
Child of the night will blow your mind. It's like an American giallo with a TV movie budget but big budget ideas. The Captain Hook scenes are wild 😅 and Darren McGavin is in it #winning Great vid Jeff 👌 👍
Finished watching "A Blade In The Dark", and it's pretty disappointing. For as cool as the packaging is, and it's a step-up for VS, who already have great packaging, the film itself doesn't hold up. VS wanted to jump in on the sliding slipcase that changes the picture ala Lionsgate, and they do a really creative and effective job here. They mention how the film came out at a time when giallo was dying, and you really feel it here. Sure, all the usual cues here, the music, the setting, the kills, but just nothing we haven't seen before or done better. There's nothing really terrible about, but just an overall mediocre feel. It felt like VS's previous giallo release, Five Women For The Killer. Alright, but nothing amazing. The film also has a really weird and rushed explanation for who the killer is, being some kind of convoluted connection to a film being made that the main character is writing the score for. The director somehow knows what's going, etc. It comes together too quickly and conveniently. Also, the killer doesn't wear black gloves, but then you realize why, and it's meant just to swerve you on who the killer is. And the worst thing is, even if a giallo is bad, you can usually expect a lot of nudity. Nope, there's barely any in this film! The artwork is rather deceptive, you almost see more skin on that than in the actual film itself.

HD-DVDs have a disk rot problem. Looks like your disk had already "expired".

Speaking of Televised Terror, the two made-for-TV horror films I remember are “Bad Ronald” and “Scream, Pretty Peggy”. Seems they are both on Blu-ray.
