I picked up the Templar X a little over a year ago. It's a slightly upgraded version of the same bike (6spd, counter balanced, fully adjustable suspension). I was in the market for a CRF300L but was dismayed at the obscene dealer markups so in frustration ordered one of these. The Templar is honestly far better than its price suggests and is quite enjoyable to ride as long as you keep in mind this is a small air cooled 4 stroke. A good statement I've heard about these bikes is that you can either enjoy them for what they are or hate them for what they aren't.
Congrats on your Templar. I think it’s a great bike, a few mods can make it even a better bike, Thanks so much for watching. Please subscribe, more videos coming soon. SCOTTFAX
Great way to put it. I hate radiators on bikes.. I free lance through the woods rather then stinking to any kind of trails. So scrub oak here in Pa. is the thing that will poke holes in rads quickly. So being this a short stroke of the 250, is my choice for way back in. I see a lot of guys on line beatn the chit out of these bikes on the street, which these are not made for that... I fig in about 3 mo's they'll be back on posting how a rod came out the side of the case. These engines, every 3 to 4 K means and needs an oil change ...rock on
My personal TOP 3 UPGRADES for the Templar X or Templar M. All on AMAZ0N: 1. Nibbi PE30 Carb (very noticeable power gains). 2. JT Sprockets JTA210.42RED or JT Sprockets JTA210.40RED (Top speed gain 8-10 mph). 3. NICHE Gold 520 X-Ring Chain 110 Links (no cutting links needed for a 40/42T rear sprocket swap. Just tensioner adj.) Or, a O-Ring Chain.
@@Scott-sk7en I can just "hear" the bikes atm but noticed the nibbi has a smoother sound to it, even the idle sounds better (to me anyway) watch a few & see if you notice? when I order my bike, Im gonna order that carb, just because - lol then later(?) as I ride there will be more fun stuff. :)
You can use either the front brake or the rear to start the engine. If you clip a certain wire (details on ChinaRiders) you can disable the brake-to-start requirement.
Just so others know...Was going to order this bike from power sports, to get is to my home, the total was $3200.00. Tax, delivery and other tack on they do. They advertise the bike @ $1899.00 ...yeah could have handle a $2200.00 usd to here but not @ $3200.00 price increase ...no one tells you about that.

Yes being in the desert, summer riding is a challenge. However, the bike does just fine in the heat. I think the bike might do better then me! Thanks for watching.ELS
Just bought the Templar base. The reviews of that seemed positive as well, though I really want to find a skid plate for it. Anyone know parts that fit?
I also got myself a Templar X from powersportsmax about six months ago. It’s a big ass bike. I’m 5’6” so it was too tall for me, but I was able to lower it to about 34” by drilling a new hole in the rear shock lower mount and sliding front forks up the triple tree. I have stock carb jetted up to 42/125 + 1mm shim on needle (suggested by Thumper). 2nd gear on tight trails is a monster. Voltage regulator gave out, but powersportsmax sent me a new one after total bike warranty expired. I put a cheapo halogen bulb in the headlight and it’s way better. I think the projector is made for old style.
@@tommyau4244 100% in my experience. No tax, fast shipping, responsive and helpful customer service. I effectively paid $300 less through powersportsmax vs. Amazon.

Many have had this issue. However, you will need to call powersportsmax ( hard to get though to them on phone) before you buy. Ask if they still will send the MCO with vehicle type: MOTORCYCLE (instead of OFFROAD ONLY branding on the MCO). They have been doing that for years to get around the STREET LEGAL problem. They did that for me as well as another buyer whom i heard it from. You have to request this from the office that mails out the MCO's. All these bikes come equipped with CA emissions locked carbs and catalytic converters on the exhausts. They also come with full lighting, blinkers and brake light. Why they come OFFROAD ONLY branded is unknown.
