Dr Ball is widely regarded as the best hair surgeon in the UK. I'd love to see a live Q & A with him one day, and also the availability of a CGI mock up at the consultation stage, and long-term plan after the surgery.
I wish I had gone for fut in my first surgery . Now going for it for the crown area only doesn’t seems viable even though baldness can only be hidden by fut instead of going with fue again
It is really quite difficult to gauge this but 50% is probably on the low end, with 75% being most likely closer to what the average will experience. "Growth" overall must also include maturation of the hair and hair shaft diameter enlargement due to continued improvements.
The patient has received 3464 grafts, granted Dr Ball didn’t go into detail if they were triple, double or single grafts. If find the results at 6.5 months somewhat disappointing. If you were to compare these results like for like against work that has been done by Dr Juan Couto or Dr Erdogan you would be able to see a clear difference in density and coverage. I would like to see this patients results 12 months post op. It has come to light via the Daily Mail newspaper that the celebrity comedian/presenter Jimmy Carr had his HT carried out by Dr Ball, why aren’t more of his patients post 12 month op results as impressive? I have no doubt that Dr Ball is extremely talented and skilful, but I and many other men who are considering this procedure don’t necessarily want the natural look. Why is it for 3464 grafts Hair of Istanbul, Dr Erdogan, Dr Bisanga, Dr Zarev (even Dr Ziering) can achieve much denser results (assuming all patients are taking finasteride).
I actually don't think Jimmy Carr's result is very good - there's something that looks 'off' about it - as if the hairline has been brought too far forward. I'm actually really surprised to hear Dr Ball did that surgery as I find his hairlines to generally be far more conservative and realistic than what Jimmy now has.
Get a prescription for it from a certified dermatologist and ask them to record your follicular density in the afflicted areas upon the first consultation then again after 2 months then 6 months from then. If your hairloss has stabilized, you're in great shape. The most severely afflicted areas won't show significant regrowth since the follicles have all died, but the thinning areas should experience regrowth. If you experience any degree of regrowth (and most do), it's a good sign that finasteride will slow your hairloss down SIGNIFICANTLY, nearly to the point that it stops (check out ashton Kutcher). When you've been on it for 8 months, you can start seeing surgeons for a hair transplant. Being on it for 8 months prior can minimize the required number of grafts. This worked for me.

If propecia didn't help in taking it for more than 2 years it won't help him at all. Plus you have to balance the side effects vs benitfits of taking propecia. Not worth it, wait until final results are clear and get a second transplant if you need it.
What you said does not make any sense. How can you possibly tell if medication is not effective? You would need exact clone on placebo to actually determine that. Medication is effective and it is a main key to keep your hair as long as possible. I am on Finnasteride for two years and I have no side effects, I had decreased libido when I started for maybe a month and then I went away. All medications have risks, but being depressed because of you losing hair in your twenties can be much worse.
Jeff Saffron finasteride doesn’t take two years to start working. Some people see no benefits. Also, if you had decreased libido then you’ll get side effects when you stop the med or somewhere along the lines. Some men prefer hair over their manhood, maybe like you, but to each their own
@@Bloodline616 I guess you English is not very good since I clearly said I have no side effects for more then 18 months. No dense packing done, probs thought he could get away with it because he has course hair, being an FUT procedure this could of been way more aggressive, yet you say 3464 grafts, looks more like 2000 if that! bad result.

Yes it does look very good. Good job doc
it's a shame how people detract FUT for "the visible scar" to promote FUE that lower hair density and sometime is not the best option for the patient.
i mean who cares for a scar at the back? just keep longer hair on the sides also cant it be just fixed with some smp?
Is DH method better ?

So some people can be later growers ?
Absolutely! It is not unusual for us to see additional growth and thickening after the first year post hair transplant.
Hi! Do you recommend low dosage oral minoxidil? Since Im already on finasterid and dutasterid once a week, but want to get each hair thicker.
what would you say is the average amount of growth someone could expect at 6 months?

The Maitland Clinic Thank you for the reply 😊
I reckon im about 80 maybe a lil more at 7 months. I can see alot of growth.
Excellent

I've always wondered this nich. It must be the quality of grafts erdo works with. I can only think it's that
Does finasteride thicken existing hair giving more coverage as well?
It can, yes, which is one of it's strengths. If it thickens your native hair, it reduces the need for surgery which is always the best route.

So if I needed like 2500 to 3000,
What would be the estimated price on that many?
As per the Maitland clinic website:
1000 grafts: £5,000
1500 grafts: £7,500
2000 grafts: £10,000
