Film making is my passion. I love everything connecting with camera, art and aesthetic. Hopefully one day I can be proud of my work, but for now it’s just me my phone and talking head on my channel.
It’s never too late to start but it’s crucial to have understanding that you’ll have a lot of courage and patience going towards your dreams. So I went to medical uni to make other people happy. Now I’m 25, I lost my job and everything, and my specialty is government regulation only to most of medical specialist in my country, but I’m happy and inspired to buy a new film camera and new tripod for iPhone and finally go for my dreams again. Thank you.

Megan, I love your images. I'm not looking to get into the film industry or anything. But -- like you -- I learn a lot by watching others and their productions. What I got from you are two things: beautiful use of light (the way your composition places objects in direct or reflected light is very inspiring); and your pace (I always fear that a slower pace will lose viewers used to the snappy online habits we all have, but with your video I see that a gentler pace, as long as it's motivated, is just as captivating). So thank you. Oh, and I made the decision to only shoot on an iPhone, to see where I can go with it, and -- well, I'm not going to oversell the phone: it's a tool like any other camera. It has its strengths (pocket-sized, wide dynamic range, fantastic stabilization, a decent Cinematic mode in the right conditions) and its weaknesses (bokeh and skin texture not as convincing as a Sony or Canon DSLR, still poor in low light even with apps to control the ISO). So I really looked at your nighttime iPhone images with interest! I love your aesthetic.

Hi i have a few question. 1. Do you have any tutorial for the filter/color grading? 2. What fps do u use for all of your vlog/filmaking video? 3. Any software/apps you suggest for beginner?
I will be making that tut very soon ! I use 24 fps or 25 fps and i would dedinitely suggest iMovie if you are just startign out with editing its very easy, in my next video i migth introduce somemore softwares for beginners to edit !
I stumbled on this today. I really like it. I know this is a year old, but I thought some fresh comments might be affirming and inspire you a little. There's a gentle and calming flow to the video that reflects not only your humility, but your deep love of storytelling. While the words you speak and the music and different images may appear to be delightfully simple, there is a flow and a poetic sense that really draws in the viewers and takes them right along with you on your journey. It's a beautiful change of pace from the fast-paced, short-attention-span-style videos that seem to flood UA-cam these days. There's a longing in our hearts for rest - an uneasy searching for that place where we can look at our lives and life around us and find beauty and meaning in the simple things. What you're doing is really profound. You tap into our emotions through the transparency of your own. You use your gift for seeing things in your own unique way and let it spill out onto the screen as an act of love. In the end, we may not even be able to articulate what just happened when we watched the video - but that in itself, is a beautiful thing. Please keep making your videos. I hope you are able to continue to advance in filmmaking, but know that you are already a true filmmaker in every sense of the word! Blessings!
Well said, i'am new to photography and filmmaking but i'am already fascinated and inspired by her skills, even when i don't have neither the skills nor the tools, she made me have the motivation to look into this field

I’m an 8th grader going into high school next year. Ive been wanting to go to a high school for film, photography and graphic design because they are just really fun and interesting imo! The thing is tho, I don’t know where to start. This video was definitely helpful !! I dont usually take photos with my phone but I definitely want to start! I have been getting inspiration from Pinterest and using the tips from the websites and video you provided!! Tysm for your help ! :)
Thanks for the nice video and tips on how to get started. Besides the style, it was a nice surprise to see you cooking that dish (I'm from SG) and hearing German (learning some basic German). If you are overseas currently, stay safe and enjoy yourself. Have a great career!
HAHHAH thank u so much, yes I am malaysian so growing up I ate lots of spam HAHA not the healthiest but I love it. and thank u so much! I am currentyl in Germany btw
The way you present information is so engaging! Your videos always keep viewers excited.
So nice of you thank you so much 🥺🥺
I've been struggling on pushing forward after finishing my 3 year 3D animation course, been stuck between the process of building a portfolio and the pressure of landing a job somewhere. All that feelin of being stuck in a loop, in some kind of "limbo", sometimes makes me wonder if Ill ever be able to pursue my other passion in filmmaking.
This video gives me hope. :)
I am so so glad this video can help you. Just remember, we all have these moments and it is normal to feel like that and all of us, creatives go thorugh this
I’ve always been in front of the camera But I’ve always loved the thought process more I put into my videos so now I’m taking the step into videography I’m gonna start at cinematic because I love the views and pictures so much and how you can tell a story without saying anything I’m starting off with a Sony ZVF-1 ! your videos have given me so inspiration to just do it.
i cannot express how much i love your content. thank you for sharing your artistic expression!!
thank u!!! For watching And commenting ❤️
Amazing video, It helped me lot!! :))
Quick tip to improve your audio a little bit-->
try to use an equalizer for the audio and wipe out the low frequencies, theres a low buzzing sound when you speak and you could just get rid of it with a simple eq. Hope it helps, and thanks again for the amazing video:)
Thanks for the tip!!! I’ll definitely try this out, this was also one of my very first videos and back then I knew pretty little about audio, I think I may know a little more now but still not great at it so thanks so much 😂❤️
Hi i have a few question.
Thank you for your time, your knowledge, and wisdom. Thank you for passing on hope and information to us beginners. I hope to see you on the big screen one day!
Thank uuuu 🥰🥰🥰

I really like how you capture people emotions in your films and I love the improvement how you slowly chose your aesthetic I always wanted to do that I feel like I’m very much live in the moment type of person so capturing emotions really does have an impact on other people to persuade and lead people through emotion
Thank you so much 🥺🥺 and that’s so beautiful
I can understand english and german and I was very happy when I heard both of the langages. This video was great as well! ⭐
HAHAHHA omg !! Cute !!!
It's a little presumptuous of you to think I could afford an iPhone 😂😂💀
hahaha it doesnt have to be an iphone !
She’s not exactly assuming-I think she included this as most people have phones, you can also use your other devices
Nokia is good
@@andrewcabiso4088 i agree. Very underrated, I've been using Nokia for the past few years and it honestly gave me the quality i wanted

Ahaahaah hi Chris, I speak german because i came to germany to study and that was one of the requiremnets into getting into the university i am in today.
@@megantanhweewen You're amazing, I hope things go well for you.
I have found your channel by chance, thank you for such content. I am a beginner and at times it looks like i can not catch up with big sharks in the ocean. It's encouraging what you do, thank you
No worries at all, we are all still learning especially myself ! I’m not a professional but I try to spread my knowledge for those who can’t afford to go to classes and universities for film for example 🥰 i Hope my videos bring u further !

Thank you for sharing your journey! Very inspiring. Your channel is starting to grow yey!
🥺🥺🥺all thanks to all of you
Love the little German section , wondering how did you learn German ?💛💛☀☀
Hahahah thank you ! I learnt German thru german language school and speaking to others
I've been a photographer for about ten years so I have a good understanding of angles but this feels like a completely different discipline
Hahahah yeah I was a photographer as well and videography is a whole new world or cinematography
No way, you're from Germany? I'm from Belgium, we're neighbours haha! Thanks for the vid, it was very helpful🥰
I live here yeah ! No way ! Hahhahaha
Thanks for the video! :) I have some tecnical questions. A part of the topic of this video, which personal cameras have you used all the way long until now in your process? Specially what camera and lents do you use the most now. Oh! I love filming but I hate the editing part of it, there its some way not burnt out doing it? THANKS! LOVE U!
Definitely take a break if u feel burnt out ! As of now im using the Sony a7iii :) I hope this helped !! Before this I was using a Nikon 3300
This video is so nice to watch. The energy is beautiful and every scene is a piece of art!! Thank you!!
Thank you so much!
hi! as a young aspiring filmmaker, this is such an inspiring video! i was just wondering what LUTs/filters (if any) you used throughout the video? (would definitely appreciate a video on color grading in the future!) :)
Hi thank you so much !! I do my own color grading, i also recentl ymade avideo about it if youre interested !
I like filmmaking, but the problems is I’m a bit lazy at some moment. Especially when I just bought a 1/6 figure and planning to make a video for it despite my storyboard are not complete but I still have that visual in it. And one thing that cause me lazy is because of lacking confidence.
dont worry about that ! everyone is lazy at a point of time in their lives, find a way to overcome it and get motivated !
Inspiring! I loved your use of darker lighting and choice of shots, so many closeups with interesting compositions.
Thank you so much !!! ❤️❤️🫶🏼
Hello Megan, a senior high schooler who's wanting to study filmmaking in Germany here. I am currently preparing for my uni entrance exam and am planning on taking a gap year to study German and apply to universities there. Can you give information about film school too? Answers to things like which school you go to, how it is going, and what you are learning in school would be great and appreciated!
Hey sure just send me a dm on Insta !
Why germany
@@defne74293 Because my sister lives there at the moment and it is the easiest way for me to leave the country 😬
Good luck!
I would love to learn more about the practical elements of film making such as apps you use, editing 101 for beginners and such. I love this video and I thought your behind the scenes vid was great!
Ohhh I’ll probably mention more of them in my next videos but I also mention them quite a lot in my other videos on my page already if you’re interested :) and thank you !!!
Who came from Tiktok ?
This is such a great video and I found it funny how I wrote most of your stuff down in my very thick tiny notebook so I could remember it
HAAHA AWWW so cute !! If not u can always come back and watch the video !
She had a camera when she was just 12?? I can't even afford it right now.

Ahahaha I really hoped it help?
I'm 18 and have always been attracted to the film industry but have never done anything to bring me closer to that and i feel so doubtful only starting now when everyone had started at young age
18 is such a young age so please dont feel discouraged ! When I was 18, i thot it was such an old age but when I’m 21 i think to myself that 18 was such a young age. I started taking jobs and internships only when I was 19, so please don’t doubt yourself. It’s never too late really
A beautifully made video with a charming narrator. You speaking German sounds incredibly soothing, if I may say so 👉🏻👈🏻
Hahahahha thank you so so much 😭😭😭
Thanks so much Megan - loved watching this
No worries? Glad you did !
