The Primitive Quartet: The Great Beyond

From their 1991 VHS entitled: "Carolina Live! I Can Hear Them Singing Over There", here is the Primitive Quartet singing one of the songs from their 1978 album "Almost Home", entitled: "The Great Beyond". This tape was recorded on February 22nd of 1991, at the T. Austin Finch Auditorium in Thomasville, North Carolina. This lineup included Norman Wilson (Tenor/Mandolin), Reagan Riddle (Lead/Rhythm Guitar), Mike Riddle (Baritone/Lead Guitar/Piano), Larry Riddle (Bass), Randy Fox (Added Vocal/Rhythm Guitar/Mandolin/Banjo/Bass), and Charlie Chandler (Bass/Fiddle). What a blessing to hear Norman on the oldies. PQ has not had same music since his passing.We both would be 87 this year. I have had different life since our 1952 high school graduation. He was 80 on July 3, 2014, passed Oct.(my birthday being Sept.)
We met 1942, both still 7, were 8 that year. His oldest bro Thruman married one of our classmates.They had two daughters, oldest married the singer of pq Michael Riddle whose d. married Jeff Tobert who joined 1986. One of our graduating class is mom of Jeff while another one is aunt of Randy.

That's really neat that y'all knew each other! I grew up listening to him sing with the group, but by the time I got to finally see the group in person, he'd been gone for almost two years. He was a good man though, from everything I've ever heard.
