This is such a good film - funny, thrilling and finally almost magical. The last few minutes seem almost to conjure up a magical spell. They really, really do not make them like this any more. Perfect for a rainy Sunday afternoon.

Thank you Almondina, been a while since I last saw this film. Hope you don't mind if I put up a couple of thoughts... I think what makes a film a classic is the ability to be relevant beyond it's time, ie: while mob lynchings don't literally happen anymore, they certainly do, figuratively. And, after all these years of emancipation, women still don't go for the right man. A quick wit and charm steals their hearts and promises only a bumpy ride. Lucky for the likes of me, not so good for them.
great! the ending was nicely done...and that wink was funny. i found grant slightly abrupt and annoying but it makes since for her to end up with him...it was nice that coleman fell in love with her, a small town girl, in the first when after all he was a supreme court justice appointee. oh and i love jean arther she's great! youtube is becoming quite the film library..thank you person who took the time to upload this

Grant rocks. Colman is a stuffed shirt, even at the end, when he's a kinder and more self-aware one.
