Good job for taking the time and effort to make this video. This video has helped me understand what the FR meant. I figured that it had something to with a size, however, when I watched the video then I discovered what the FR meant wherein equals to the word French. Amazing and you probably even pay taxes and continued to be a wonderful person. A thumbs up to you.

i am looking for different type of catheter tips but there is no video on youtube, when we insert normal catheters in urinary track - the two way or single way eye catheter put some scratches in the inner walls of the urinary track, what ? if we invent a catheter with rounded hole at the end so that it will not cause any kind of scratch while inserting ?

In the US we follow FDA guidelines not WHO. FDA is more or less the binding law in the US where WHO is not. Violation of the FDA guidlines which causes injury is per se malpractice in the U.S. unless you can convince the court that the FDA is wrong by a practically impossible standard to meet due to cheveron defferance which requires that the courts cannot second guess federal agency guidelines.

Obviously there are differences in anatomy warranting the use of a French Catheter Scale for additional comfort as the goal should be to go as small as possible. Most adult men and women can use a 14 sufficiently, and the discernment left to the provider of care to go up or down based on each individual case. Agree with another commenter that there are alternative options such as a condom cath or a surgical suprapubic cath that were not highlighted.

14 to 16 often drain inlets the same, and 14 give balloon less chance to expel

No two bodies are the same . I recently ran afoul of too small of a catheter {24fr} that caused me to pass urine around it and caused me to have to change my pants all the time . just because the nurse practitioner wouldn't put in the right size because she didn't think a larger one {like the one she was replacing} was confutable enough for me or that large size was correct for my age . {70+} Now i have to go to a urologist to get an even larger size put in and will have to wear diapers until then .

Thanks for the information. Hope you eventually work out your catheter problems. You might want to talk to your doctor about self-catherization or self irrigation (self irrigation is cheap and easy). Finding good info on the internet is difficult. Many of the scientific articles are infomercials. I hope this posting finds you in good prostate health!!!

Silicone cath have a larger internal diameter. May be helpful for patients who require frequent cath changes from encrustations.

Too simple and didn't touch on intermittent and.or pocket catheters, color coded funnels etc.
