I think the patients feeling during this would not only be education for the nurse but for patients subject to this procedure. A bit of a delicate area!

In a real hospital, you push the call light & nobody comes 😅

Depending on the Hospital, there are some troubles because there are few nurses per bunch of patients. Even though most of them are very good professionals, and very responsible; so it could happen that some of them are tired or distracted. But that is not the rule... And the problem is the lack of supervision or the frequency of this. Best wishes.

I just noticed that the nurse drew air before placing the syringe in the bottle of saline water? What is the reason behind it? Thanks

Your actually supposed to bleed the syringe because of you push air into the catheter it can cause major discomfort

Bleed as in push saline out until no air Is present

I would really encourage you to try the new Multiphze Enclosed Bladder Irrigation System for manual bladder irrigation. It has shown to cut the time to irrigate by more than half and virtually eliminate any spillage and should mitigate CAUTI risk!

Thank you, feeling more confident every day and noticing my anxiety dissolve until I knew I was “in control” is definitely a relief, I went with what I mentioned and a week after my paruresis was gone. I just go'ogled the latest in Beck Reznark’s guide and now I can go without even thinking about it.
