What Nite Ize RunOff Waterproof product would you like us to do a full review on?
Hi Pack Hacker, all but the two packing cubes.
The 3-1-1 bag, for purely selfish reasons - I want something like it to take with me on beachy type trips! Hook on a shoulder or waist strap and just keep my valuables on my person. Though you wouldn't want it to float if you're trying to keep it at waist level, and I think you said it's only rated for 1 m? So maybe not the *best* option, but I'd probably trust it more than the random no-brand pouches that show up on Amazon...
3-1-1 after a horrible experience with my own 3-1-1 bag this last trip
The 3-1-1
the packing cubes, please !
“Not liable for lips getting caught in zippers”, lol!
Excellent video and really appreciate your thoroughness! Thanks for dropping the side camera shots; much easier to focus on your excellent content.
I can’t see myself using any of these, but largely because I live and travel in dryer climates.
Glad you're digging the video Sondra, thanks for sharing your thoughts with us! 😊

Great job providing an overview of this family of waterproof pouches! I love my 3-1-1 pouch. Used for GORUCK events and it's a winner.
That's awesome Chris, we're glad to hear it's working well for you! 😊👍

I love this series! I have two. My favorite thus far is the 3-1-1. I use a pouch method to pack my purse/pack. Your basic housewife/UA-camr EDC. I like for things to match and I like to be prepared. I don’t have a ton of money so these are definitely luxuries for me. I’m using the purchase of these as rewards for achieving business goals. I like to do outdoor things and live in a rural area and live a rural lifestyle so with 3 dogs and other animals including a mini-pig, my life germs messy quick. Even at home I live out of my pack because I don’t lose the important stuff if it’s not in my purse which is almost never your typical purse. I like the waterproof part of these because if I’m outside or shoot, just on the back porch sofa and a muddy dog jumps on top of me and my things, then I can easily wipe them off with a baby wipe. I can also pull them out when prospecting and not worry about them spilling into a creek. Just having my essentials protected is worth a lot to me. I also like the clear windows so it’s easy to grab the right pouch the first time.
What I would change if it were up to me?
More colors to choose from and matching S-Biners so you could essentially color code your gear.
I think it could be good to see the 3-1-1 in different sizes and colors. Some more narrow gusseted pouches in that type.
I am actually planning on getting the wallet simply because it will hold my card (in an rfid protected sleeve), cash and change. I like the simplicity.
I’d like to add the packing cubes to my gear because they are compressible as well as floatable. Plus the whole zipper grabbing fabric thing is so annoying.
I’d love to see deeper reviews in all of these.
Thanks!
Awesome that you use gear as a reward for hitting your goals! Thanks for sharing!

I used the wallet at a water park with a 1/2" nylon belt and it was great!
That's awesome Ivan! Perfect use case for that one 🙂
- Tom
Just got the toiletry bag from Duluth Trading company to test out. Thank you for a very informative video as a head start!
You got it! Let us know how you get on with the toiletry bag. 😊🙌
- Rebecca
Thank you so much. There is SO much "waterproof" garbage out there, and this is the only legit one I have found.
The packing cubes seem like a great option for water activities that aren't on the extreme side like SUP, flatwater kayaking, etc.
Great shout wendell, these products would come in super handy for keeping your items safe when you're doing water activities. 😊🙌
- Rebecca
Watching Tom try not to laugh when he talks about the belt carry is very good.
👍😊😄
- Rebecca
I really like the wallet size. I may just end up going with the daka pouch since I need something that's just for my documents.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us Oscar! Let us know which one you decide to pick up. 😊👍

Good review ty
Thanks for watching!
The one that holds your phone is something I'd be very interested in.
I always struggle to keep my passport safe and it cannot be covered with anything for inspection. This might work for passport and small wallet - I assume.
Hey Waldemar - thanks for sharing your thoughts with us! You can find out more about the RunOff Waterproof Pocket including the dimensions here packhacker.com/travel-gear/nite-ize/runoff-waterproof-pocket/ 😊👍

I liked your suggestion for using the wallet or pouch to hold Clorox wipes when traveling. Does water proof mean that it will prevent the wipes from drying out? Even if left in a car in triple digit temps?
Amongst these, those packing cubes have a nice zipping system..Kindly review 'em in detail comparing 'em with Eagle creek packing cubes..
Hey The Pondering Minimalist - we currently have no plans to create a comparison video between the Nite Ize and Eagle Creek packing cubes, but I'll pass it onto the team. 👍
- Rebecca
Tom, are there any other products out there like these waterproof cubes? I like the idea. If not maybe Magpul will also make a cube
Hey aayotechnology - we currently haven't tested or got our hands on anything similar to these cubes yet, but we'll keep an eye out. And, although this isn't exactly the same, if you're looking for something waterproof, the Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil Dry Sack may work for you packhacker.com/travel-gear/sea-to-summit/ultra-sil-dry-sack-4l/ - hope this helps! 😊
- Rebecca
Is there any way that Nite Ize can add the belt clip for the various phone cases to these pouches? I really think it would be a nice option to be able to attach this securely to your belt without needing to undo your belt. Id like a larger phone pouch than the XL horizontal pouch anyway, because I carry additional items in my kit anyway and if it was waterproof, it would be even better. Just an idea!
Though I‘m not traveling a lot I just like watching your videos. Could you please tell me which shirt Tom is wearing in the video? Is it from Wool & Prince? Thanks in advance and keep on doing great videos and reviews.
Hey Matthias - glad you're digging the videos! Tom's t-shirt is the Wool & Prince Pocket Tee packhacker.com/travel-gear/wool-prince/pocket-tee/ 👍
- Rebecca
I'd just stick with a poncho that covers my backpack as well, unless I'm doing some Bear Grylles style stuff where I'm swimming across rivers etc...
We get what you're saying, MASTUR BIKER! The type of gear you need can definitely vary depending on your travel style or how you prefer to travel. You've got to find what works for you. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us! 😊

Can you review the Booe 20 Hybrid from Kickstarter next?
Hey - we have no plans to review the Booe Hybrid 20 Waterproof Backpack in the immediate pipeline, but we'll check it out. 😊
- Rebecca
I’m wondering if you would use one of these packing cubes to pack drones and other camera / electrical gear inside of. I purchased a waterproof backpack but wanting some extra waterproof protection for that gear. Thanks!
Hey Kaona - we haven't tested these with a camera or drone, but we have used them with some of our tech accessories and chargers. So, depending on the size or your camera or drone, these cubes will work, but they won't offer any protection other than being waterproof. Hope this helps! 😊
- Rebecca
Are all sizea touch screen compatible? Including the 3-1-1 pouch?
Or is that only a feature of the pouxh explicitly intended for phones?
Will all airport security accept the 311 bag ( some jobsworth will probably say it's not completely see through!)?
The phone bag & smaller packing cube (& you're eager to test this more ) look the most useful to me. Cheers.
Hey Jay - while most airports will accept the 3-1-1 Pouch, we can't guarantee that this will be in same in all airports around the world, which is why we always recommend checking with the airport that you'll be flying into/ from before you fly. Hope this helps! 😊
- Rebecca
I was wondering but can you make a video of which backpack is best for college students??
Hey lourdes4605 - we have no plans to create a video like this in the immediate pipeline, but I'll pass this onto the team. In the meantime, we recommend checking out our Best Daypack Guide here packhacker.com/guide/how-to-choose-the-best-travel-daypack-for-you/ - hope this helps! 😊👍

Wouldn't the medium-sized packing cube make for a great toiletry bag for those who need some more space?
You sure can, Rick! It's great to adapt products so that they work for your travel style. Thanks for sharing. 👍
- Rebecca
Could you kind of smash down the large packing cube once your contents are inside and seal it to save space in your bag?
Hey Reid - the Nite Ize packing cubes have a pretty much airtight seal, so if you get all the air out. it will stay flat which will provide an almost vacuum-like seal. Hope this helps! 😊
- Rebecca
I would absolutely use something like this, like, at the beach. I'm way too paranoid to leave my passport, phone, and money on the beach while I go have fun in the ocean - I'd really rather bring everything with me!
My phone's too big to fit in the pocket (I have a 6.9" Xiaomi Mi Max 3 - great battery life, but it's huge and heavy af), so I'd go with the 3-1-1 bag just because, you know, my phone.
I'm less sure about the packing cubes tbh. Maybe if you have something that REALLY can't get wet (maybe a tablet or small laptop), but for clothes I suspect I'd think them too heavy to be practical - the large cube is 7 l and weighs 130g, but a lightweight 6 l Osprey dry bag only weighs 30g. 100g more or less isn't a big deal for just one item, but it all adds up.
Hey FaerieDust - we hear you! These products would be a great solution when you're at the beach and having the 3-1-1 pouch would also give you more versatility and could even double up as a toiletry bag to save space in your pack. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, we love hearing what works for you! 😊🙌
- Rebecca
I picked up the 3-1-1 pouch because of the volume (expands a little at the bottom) and the size since I also have a large phone. It's ideal for taking my phone, wallet, earbuds, etc to the beach or anywhere else that I need to keep valuables protected from sand, water, dirt, etc. Definitely recommend the 3-1-1 out of all of them, personally.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us blurpleunc! 👍
- Rebecca
How have the tru zip zippers held up over time?
We haven’t had any issues! You may need to lubricate them, but they’re still going strong.
-Eric
@@PackHacker just placed an order for a packing cube and travel pouch. Thanks !
Can the 3-1-1, depending on how it’s packed out, fit into the wandrd large toiletry bag?
e cosa pensavate sarebbe mai accaduto di diverso?
