I just made this as my first garment. I modified the bottom to be one tier that goes to my knee. It gave it more of a baby doll style. I also added darts since I have a bigger bust. I definitely recommend that for the busty girls. Overall I'm so happy and can't wait to tackle some more projects
I finally did it. I sewed this dress. In fact, I thank you very much. Although I am a beginner in sewing and English, I did it and the result is beautiful.
Hey Jess! I am in love with your turorials. Thank you, I have followed two so far! So grateful to you. I would love to see a playlist of the easiest tutorials, as I am a beginner!! Thank you so much, love from Colombia

Jess, your designs are absolutely adorable! I just wish I looked as good in them as you do. ;-) Also, your English is getting better all the time. I'm so impressed.
Jess thank you so much this is So so beautiful! 😍🥰 Jess maybe one day you want to try sewing something like an Apron and a chef Hat! Or something like that would be so much fun! 🤩
Dear@@JessDangDIY Update: I finished my first tiered dress today! I upcycled a beautiful fabric out of an old bedsheet and now the heat wave in Germany can come ☀️☀️☀️ thanks so much for your tutorials! ❤️
Hi thank you so much for this tutorial your videos are awesome! I was wondering if you think I’d be able to double up on the tiers with linen fabric instead of just one layer so that it’s not see through. Do you think that would work?
Forgive me for replying but I think doubling up on the tiers with something like linen would make them very bulky and not gather or hang very well. Maybe choose a slightly thicker cotton material for the actual dress so you can't see through it (white always seems to be see-through) or make a simple A-line waist-slip to wear under it which you could use for any other see-through dress too x
Love you Jess! Quick question, am I to cut two identical rectangles for the skirt for each of the tiers? This seems like a lot of fabric! Couldnt you also just cut one really long one and have only one side seem? Thanks Jess! This will be my first dress so Im scared 😅
@@JessDangDIY thank you, very helpful. What if I wanted tier 1 to be longer than the tier 2 and 3, maybe just above the knees and tier 2 and 3 to be the same. How should that be best measured?
You can do it. But 2 layers for the bodice will help to hide all the seam inside and you can have the nice connecting between the bodice and the shoulder straps. With one layer only, you have the finish the edge of the bodice.
I don't know if I speak for anyone else... It may be just me but I really am trying to replicate this dress by following your instructions. The transcript is not transcribing correctly so when you say, "breast" (I think that's what you're saying) it comes out"birth". So in measuring my tiers you say (according to your transcript) "one and a half times my birth size" so I think you mean breast size? Just wondering why you're not measuring against the hip size and also if you can possibly get a proper English transcription or at least leave the directions on your screen longer (which are proper English but flash too quickly to read). Thank you!
I'm sorry it's quite hard to follow what you're saying. Auto-generated subtitles also doesn't help. Would you please be able to add subtitles to your content?
I just made this for myself. My first proper sewing in years. I love it. Thank you!

Yeah, let's do it!
Did you do a zig zag stitch across each raw edge before gathering and adding each layer is the skirt? Always love your videos btw!
Yes, I did it to keep the edge of the fabric
Beautiful
Thank you!
Lindo maravilhoso 👏❤️ parabéns

I think her reply is right. Adding double width for each tier will make the dress heavier and bigger, especially for thick fabrics.
I would like to learn how to make a tierred dress. Can you please explain the measurement of the 1st tier, 2nd tier and 3rd tier?
You can base on my video to see how I got the measurements for this dress at each tier to apply for yours
thank you❤
Love you Jess! Quick question, am I to cut two identical rectangles for the skirt for each of the tiers? This seems like a lot of fabric! Couldnt you also just cut one really long one and have only one side seem? Thanks Jess! This will be my first dress so Im scared 😅
I watched a few more times and realized that the tiers increase by 1.5 in width each time. So then we should only cut one panel of each tier, yes?
Yes, it's correct
Can u plaz make a tutorial of cult gaia cut out dress?💖
I'll check it out soon
Grazie! Servono 3 metri di cotone.....3 metri in totale o in doppio?
Hi, Thank you so much for this tutorial! would it work to put long sleeves instead of straps?
Yes, absolutely
Ela ♥️👏👏👏👏👏👏
I've been looking for it😍😍
Hope you enjoyed it
Hi can i ask whats best fabric can i used to make that dress ,thank u 😊
I think a flowy fabric will be the best for this dress. So soft cotton fabric or mix of chiffon or silk will be good to go
Hi Jess, I am a size Medium. How do I know what size to cut the 3 tiers for the skirt?
Each tier will be at least 1.5 times bigger than the tier above it to create the gathering fabric. The more you add, the bigger the dress will come
@@JessDangDIY thank you, very helpful. What if I wanted tier 1 to be longer than the tier 2 and 3, maybe just above the knees and tier 2 and 3 to be the same. How should that be best measured?
The video is really cool, but the subtitles are in English. I hope the video supports Arabic subtitles❤️❤️❤️
I hope I could do it soon
@@JessDangDIY I trust you completely, and thank you very much for your concern, and I hope not to bother you.♥️♥️
I'm watching from india
Thank you!
Is this the same as The Essential Clubs or are measurements different ? :)
Hi, can I know why you made two layers for the bodice? Can I just do 1 layer if my material is not see through?
You can do it. But 2 layers for the bodice will help to hide all the seam inside and you can have the nice connecting between the bodice and the shoulder straps. With one layer only, you have the finish the edge of the bodice.
Am i wear this with shirt

Yes. She's saying "Bust"
Hi Gail I'm having the same problem with all the tutorials which Is so sad ; if I could get the measurements correct I'd be delighted
Can you make a strapless maxi dress please? Thanks 😊 👍👌

Hi Jess, can you suggest how can I attach a bra to this dress?
Hello c ơi khổ vải bao nhiêu mới may đủ ạ
Khổ trung bình ah em, ko cần khổ rộng đâu
Hola, ponle a tus tutoriales subtítulos en español por favor 🙏
Is this not exactly the same design as the essentials club?
I'm not so sure. But I just checked and it looks similar :)
Maybe someone has asked this, but where is your fabric from?
My fabrics are from everywhere based on the location I was at that time. This fabric is local fabric shop in Phuket, Thailand.
I'm sorry it's quite hard to follow what you're saying. Auto-generated subtitles also doesn't help. Would you please be able to add subtitles to your content?

Is this the same as The Essential Clubs or are measurements different ? :)
The measurements are based on my body size. However at each step, I also share the way I got my measurement. So you can apply for your body size.
