  • Hey y’all! Welcome back to my channel! In today’s video, I will be showing you all how I straightened my hair! I have not straightened my hair in over a year and a half. Many of you know I suffered really bad heat damage about 2 years ago and I had to do a second big chop! This time around, I am focusing on a healthy hair journey. This summer, I rushed doing a trim on my hair and ended up with shorter hair in the front and longer hair in the back! Today, I will be fixing the bad trim! It will take a few months before my hair gets to the same length all over again and you are welcome to follow me on my continuous hair journey! Hope you enjoy the video! Be sure to SUBSCRIBE, give the video a THUMBS UP, and leave a COMMENT! See you in my next video!

    I really admire how straight you got your hair. The natural hair community had me afraid of heat. But the truth Is, it was always good to my hair. Will start back straighten my hair twice a year

      Thank you so much 💕! I was afraid of heat after getting heat damage from letting someone straighten my hair bone straight a few times a year with super hot flat irons! Trust me, I learned my lesson lol. I think I’m going to do once/twice a year too!

    • @StarringLia
      @StarringLia  2 роки тому +1

      I don’t think a leave in will be good enough alone to prevent heat damage. I would hold off on straightening until I have a thermal protectant because the only way to get rid of heat damage is to cut your hair and I don’t want that for you! 💕

    • @StarringLia
      @StarringLia  3 роки тому

      Lol. Have you tried deep conditioning for a short amount of time before pressing? It really softens the hair up. I just wouldn’t deep conditioning too long because it could cause heat damage if it’s too soft.

    When I straightened my hair it looked similar to yours but the ends looked so puffy and raggedy, I cut a lot of it off. I can never wear it straight how I used to. My ends are always breaking with a bunch of single strands

    • @StarringLia

      I’m so sorry to hear that! You may have to trim your hair more often or add a very light oil to your hair before flat ironing. That may help straighten the ends out more.

    How long can the silk press last on 4c hair ?

    • @StarringLia
      @StarringLia  Рік тому

      It should last at minimum a week. The longevity of the silk press depends on how your hair responds to humidity as well as what activities you are doing that could cause sweat and of course tying your hair up properly at night! 💕

      @@dowhatiwant1329 She’s using the hot comb like it’s a regular comb. That won’t do anything. You have to lay the comb flat and press it down on the back part of the comb to for it to really work.

    It’s cute but try not to put that much heat on hair your hair harming your hair more than helping. Try a healthier flat iron you only have to do one pass it’s called “bablissPRO stima Titanium Prima iron

    • @StarringLia
      @StarringLia  4 місяці тому

      Thank you! 💕 I actually got heat damage when someone else used the babliss pro titanium plates on my hair. So, ever since, I have ran in the opposite direction! lol. I prefer ceramic flat irons because the heat is better distributed in my opinion. The babliss silk outs be looking good though, but I prefer curl integrity!
